  1. The Luger-Vader split felt so one-sided and decisive... more like Vader getting written out of the territory to me than setting up a feud. The monster needs to bounce back in a big way. I echo those enjoying the slow planting of the seeds to get the Steiners teaming, and the progression of Hot Stuff Inc.
  2. Really building to something special with this show. Dusty appears to have built an unstoppable team to face Race's crew. Meanwhile, as Steamboat upholds his word and gives Savage a shot at the title, I can't help but wonder if Macho Man doesn't have some kind of double cross planned.
  3. WCCW would like to sign Mike George to its open roster spot, and add Mad Maxine in the second manager slot.
  4. WCCW would like to announce two trades Koko Ware and Curtis Hughes have been sent to Mid-South/Memphis in return for Al Perex and Iceman Parsons, retroactive to May 13. Mongolian Stomper has been dealt to Stampede in exchange for Stampede's first-round pick in the upcoming 1989 Rookie Draft
  5. Spladoni and I go way back in this game and I always enjoyed his stuff quite a bit. This AWA roster is a mixture of grizzled vets and young rising talent, reminding me of the true AWA during the same period. Stay away from any breakfast cereal gimmick-related matches, and things here should remain on point!
  6. That is some stacked lineups for Seattle... been awhile clearly since I have been reading here, but the standard for PCW remains consistent and high all the way around. Also, please tell me Footloose is going to start using the actual song for their entrance music? Maybe take up the cause of outlawed dancing in a small town? Eh? Ehhhh?
  7. WCW would have been way ahead of the curve and having some fantastic matches with the lucha guys, and now Muta, Tiger Mask II & Azure-don't-call-him-Ultimo Dragon coming in... The title change caught me by surprise. Good stuff here.
  8. Going to use David Manning and Bronko Lubich as my WCCW referees, as the universe intends...
  9. WCCW has acquired Chris Adams from the AWA for future considerations, including an agreement that will see select WCCW wrestlers appearing at select AWA events. Fred Ottman has been released.
  10. WCCW would like to announce a trade with WCW... Jimmy Snuka and Koko Ware for Paul Roma & Honkytonk Man Then a number of WCW stars have signed handshake agreements to work for World Class throughout 1988
  11. WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING Texas Heavyweight Title: VACANT Texas Tag Team Titles: VACANT WCCW Television Title: VACANT
  12. This is a solid, well-worked tag match that is elevated to the "very good" tier by a rabid and thoroughly invested crowd. Check out my full review, as part of my 365 Wrestling project.
  13. I watched this today and had the same thought about sounding alike.
  14. This match was the final of a round-robin league to crown the very first IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. There's nothing new here, but it's a well-done match and a historic one. The opening minutes feature an all-time-great dropkick by Cobra. Check out my full review, as part of the 365 Wrestling project.
  15. This has a "before they were stars" feel and would be a great inclusion on a Shield DVD retrospective if people still watched DVDs. As it is, it's a nifty look at these three before they joined the Shield, and when Reigns -- known as Leakee here -- was still quite green. He's quite a bit leaner here and busts out a kip-up and a leapfrog. Most of this is standard WWE triple threat fare with a nice feat of strength by Reigns at the end on a double Samoan drop, but I enjoyed it for the historical value. Check out my full review, which is Day 36 in my 365 Wrestling project.
