  1. I went to a convention yesterday and got to meet Magnum TA, Jimmy Hart, Charles Wright, Koko B. Ware, Gunn Club, Bobby Fulton, Angelina Love, Lex Luger, Rhino, Gail Kim and Bobby Blaze. Malakai Black and ODB were also there but I did not have the cash on me for them. It was a lot of fun.
  2. NHL just had the Blackhawks story break too. So all three leagues have suffered black eyes recently.
  3. It just feels like they are following the typical gameplan of trimming the fat and getting every cent of profit possible to sell. As far as their corporate image. I don't see them as any worse than other sports leagues as far as scandals go.
  4. They just pulled that on Bray. I thought it was particularly stupid in that situation because they could have said they were concerned about his injury history and no one would have really questioned it.
  5. Just my opinion. They're going to try to sell to Disney or NBC on the next TV deal and they are trying to get the highest profits possible to make it attractive.
  6. They still haven't fucking cleaned up the pre-81 shit. Micah Watts was trying to do that before they bought it and it still isn't out there. That's the stuff that pisses me off. They buy all of thise shit and hide it away to never be seen again.
  7. The price was probably Joe Koff in the HoF.
  8. I wanted to also add. I was a regular at the live shows around central Ohio for a couple of years. I stopped going when they started running a concert venue that was terrible for wrestling and jacked all the prices up. I think my $45 second row seat was $75 by the time I just gave up on looking.
  9. It was worse than that in the Sinclair era. If there was a PPV everything would come to a complete halt for a month and you would habe to wait for the new taping cycle to kick in. And they would never bridge that gap, they would just have a set if lazy episodes with barely anything until you got angles resuming again. I remember when they did that big Bullet Club angle. It was like the start of May and it took until June for the TV to reflect any of it.
  10. In fairness though, they did pay their talent for a year and a half with no avenue to make any profit. So for all of their mismanagement they did right by the talent during the pandemic unlike WWE.
  11. I swear I read or heard somewhere that they lost some of the old footage at some point. I don't know how true that is but it's always been weird to me that they will put bits and pieces of their old stuff out there but they won't put all of it out there. I ended up just torrenting everything a couple of years ago. If they aren't going to provide it for me, then why should I feel bad for stealing it?
  12. It drove me nuts. The entire Sinclair Era they refused to utilize the entire back catalog of their most valuable footage. They kept swearing they would get those shows up and it never happened.
  13. He can push merchandise. You don't have to push him because he can keep himself over. I don't think he's a guy that makes or breaks you but I don't see the harm in him as a low level guy that loses and is popular.
  14. I think this is probably just a nice way of putting RoH out of its misery.
  15. I think it would generally be bad. You might draw better for non-deathmatch stuff but you could potentially chase away most of your audience trying to pull in those extras. We have seen a lot of media companies chase away their core audience chasing casual fans the last decade.
  16. That's true. I think baseball and boxing retain a familiar feel even if you go back 80 years but everything else feels different. I think Japanese wrestling is easier to go back to or even 50s wrestling because the footage tends to be higher quality than a lot of the 70s and early 80s American stuff.
  17. I think that's normal. I hesitate with older wrestling to recommend it. Mid 80s to now all feels similar but when you start pushing back into the 70s and beyond it can start to feel really foreign and not like the wrestling people know.
  18. They've left Nia Jax injure countless people on the roster so I think she probably has a lot of rope left.
  19. They have this obsession with making people not do what they're good at. Look at all the natural faces working heel and vice versa.
  20. I don't know. Seems like she turned a pretty shitty segment into something at least amusing. She was unprofessional but I also think she was right that the segment was stupid. Why would two champions, the peak of their careers just passively hand over the thing they should care about more than anything else?
  21. That was something interesting Cornette said about World Class. He said got a lot better there because the Fort Worth show they would just let you talk for as long as you wanted.
  22. So I am finally taking the dive and watching Memphis from the start. It's really comforting to see that even in 1979 that Brutus Beefcake is still Hogan's manservant.
  23. I didn't like Kevin for a long time but his matches always have the potential to kust devolve into a potato fest which makes his matches more interesting than Kerry. I disagree about the matches sucking. Checkmate and Magic Dragon had consistently good matches during their run and Jose Lothario was good for entertaining matches almost every week.
  24. They have a free trial and you can choose between real wrestlers and the old COTG stuff. It's nice for the book keeping end, interface has a bit of a learning curve. I recommend trying it on both a laptop and a tablet. I prefer to do the matches on my tablet.
