Flair-Highspots Lawsuit

Man. This week's classic WON on the site (building up the Flair/Hogan match at Halloween Havoc '94) is full of unintentional hilarity.

Flair is insisting that even though this decision was against his wishes, he's not going to be one of these wrestlers who keeps making comebacks and that Sunday really is going to be his final appearance and to expect a classic match in his finale. For years Flair has said that he'd walk away from wrestling, at least as far as being an active competitor, the day he could no longer be Ric Flair, ie. be a headliner. As mentioned two weeks back, if he were to make a comeback after a year of inactivity, at best he'd be in the Randy Savage position and he appears to strongly not want to be considered as a guy who once was great while still active. In wrestling, all decisions are subject to change and the odds are great that WCW will fall into a bind next year and want to bring him back and an awful lot of people are believing by that time Flair will change his mind. The other side of the coin is there are those in the company saying Flair is taking this retirement angle as a shoot when it was only designed to keep him out of action six-to-eight months similar to the WWF retirement angle with Savage and for him to return as a babyface as Hogan's tag team partner. Flair isn't scheduled to make any major media appearances this week selling the show, although Hogan and Gene Okerlund had a spot lined up on TNT's Thursday Night NFL game halftime show.
