Kind of a disappointing match. Really short first two falls and lots of pauses between some of the sequences that broke the flow. On the plus side, Psicosis actually won a match against Rey! I can't say I've ever seen that happen before. The chairfight teases after the match were better than the match itself.

Fan looked to have got his leg messed up for real when wrestler got launched into him low. I guess that's why barricades are needed! Rey sets up Psicosis on a chair on the outside and proceeds to do one and then another feint dives to the outside. Felt pointless for the trouble of setting Psicosis up in the first place. Mysterios wants a mask versus mask match but Psicosis wasn't too interested.

Much slower-paced than their usual bout, with a bigger emphasis on crowd-pleasing spots. This felt like a WWF house show version of their match--not that there weren't some fine spots here, but a lot of it is stuff we've seen before. Kevin has that stuff with Rey doing feints while Psicosis is on the chair outside dead-on--no idea what that was supposed to accomplish. Psicosis blocking a Rey tope with a chair was a highlight, and I thought the finish was pretty great. Psicosis gets Rey to give the referee a flying headscissors (they make it work, trust me) then low blows him while the ref is out of the ring to steal a win, bringing his record against Rey up to 1-459.

Psicosis continues to be the most perplexing worker of 1996. I can't decide if he is the best bad worker or the most inconsistent good one on the set so far. Speaking of baseline matches that I have talked about with Liger vs. Tiger, here you go for these two as this was worked really slowly and featured hardly none of the dynamic spots these two can deliver. I am still struggling with aspects of 1996 when compared to 1999 and 1993. The top highlights have delivered but match after match has seeming fell short and this was no exception. **1/2

I enjoyed this match. An exhibitiony Psi/Rey match, but they get all their standard spots in, they're executed great and look really good, and the match never gets boring. The match doesn't really feel like a competition and there's nothing in it that exceptional in the context of these two working each other, but it was a good match to put on for the live crowd.
