(JWP Tag Titles) Cuty Suzuki & Mayumi Ozaki © vs Dynamite Kansai & Hikari Fukuoka

Heh, interesting diffrence during the 2 teams entrances. Kansai & Fukuoka just calmly walk out and get in the ring. Fukuoka oddly looking like the spitting image of Jaguar Yakotoa with her all black singlet. Cury & OZ enter and they get mobed by fans and have to push their way through while mother fuckers are tossing confetti in the air. Wonder who as the more popular team here? Before the match gets under way they splice in a LONG clip of original Tiger Mask Sayama who was a special guest for this show, training Cuty and one of the other youngsters at his dojo in the proper way to smash faces and snap limbs. NOT as exciting as it sounds. Then get footage of Sayama giving them a pre match pep talk earlier in the night in the locker room as Cuty & OZ act all star struck like "holy shit, Tiger Mask is here and he's our buddy and we're super cool pals, fuck yeah hehehehehe" Devil Masami randomly barges in and just sits down next to him and starts puttin on lotion like it's no big deal. Sayama has a great "WTF is this bitch doing" look in response. That certainly killed 15 mins. Back to the match, yay. This was a rare case whear I watched a match twice in a row, the first time around I ended up thinking that this was pretty good but nothing special but I was distracted a lot during the initial viewing and had to stop and pause several times so fig that maybe I didn't give it a fair chance. 2nd time through I loved this a lot more. Early portion sees OZ & Fukuoka taking turns playing whipping girl for exstended periods of time, bit slow but not boring as they do lots of little things to keep it interesting. Ozaki being a great person to have as a tag partner is something i've brought up in previous reviews recently but I noticed here that Cuty is also pretty darn good as well. As a team they really compliment each other, always have each others back, always ready to come in and boot somebody in the head to make sure their partner doesn't get in too much trouble, have a lot of cool double team spots, etc.. Fukuoka & Kansai more work as 2 singles stars thrown together for a night. Around 1/3 of the way in they kick things into high gear after Cuty gets frustrated and tosses Fukuoka outside leading to a 4 way brawling section. Back inside they Cuty & OZ dominate most of the rest of the match, they blitz Kansai for a while and then Fukuoka tags in and works most the rest of the match. They don't go full on sprint but for the last 15 mins or so they work at a pretty fast pace and while not the most rabid you'll ever see they really get the fans into things by the end (better lighting and crowd micing would have helped the atmosphere a lot). Last few mins sees OZ & Cuty double teaming Fukuoka but keep failing to put her away, Hikari looks to make her come back, getting in a rolling cradle on OZ but just as quick Cuty rushes in and kills her with forearms allowing OZ to to drop her with everyone's favorite move the JWP special #1, a powerbomb for the win. Ending felt a little abrubt the first time I watched it but I think that was because by then they'd been going for so long with near falls and stuff that I hadn't realised they were allready into the finishing stretch long before then. Anyways, yeah, a few flaws here & thear but overall great match. Another from JWP that goes really long, 27 mins, but doesn't feel it at all, a total breez to sit through a second time.

This took a while to grow on me, but it eventually did. I thought everyone gave an inspired performance, particularly Oz and Kansai, but really everyone. I really like Ozaki's mean streak. In some ways, she reminds me of a younger Devil Masami. Great final stretch with some great action, a different and more aggressive style than AJW. Ozaki pins Fukuoka with a powerbomb.

This was a step down from the awesome JWP stuff on the earlier Yearbooks, as this got a little closer to the unfocused go-go style. It got better down the stretch and the stuff was well-executed, but...I didn't much care about anything that was happening, the "stuff" wasn't as spectacular as AJW, and there were some eye-rolling moments like Ozaki & Suzuki doing like four double-teams in a row while Kansai is on the apron picking her nose and the opening flurry where Suzuki unleashes some of the worst strikes I've ever seen. This makes it sound worse than it really was, but this was kind of a disappointment.

I thought this was a really nice mesh of the slow stiffness you'll get from JWP like the Kansai vs. Ozaki singles match with the gogo style of Toyota or Kyoko. Oz shows why she's one of my favorites here, tearing Fukuoka apart and working as a great heel with her focus on the knee and hair pulling. Kansai's suplex to Suzuki on the floor was absolutely brutal. I don't know how much she was selling as opposed to working around a ton of pain immediately after, but it didn't look like she had fun taking it. They told a great story with Kansai as the monster ace here who wouldn't go down until Oz & Suzuki hit a ton of double team spots on her. Kansai tags out for a breather and lets Fukuoka take more of a beating, as well as botch a rana on Suzuki who tries to cover for her. Hot finish with big moves & near falls including a Kansai Bomb before a double headbutt and Oz standing tall like she should.

Cutie/Oz-Dynamite/Hikari is basically the signature matchup of early post-split JWP. I think that their April match is definitely a better running of that match (a lot tighter, great tag-in/tag-out from the rudas, more Kansai in peril, and a very rare finisher actually getting the fall) and it's an all-alternate attire affair. too. Cutie in black, Ozaki in the Ninja Turtle green & pink, Kansai in orange(!), and Fukuoka in Plum-like abstract floral.

I haven't seen these four in a long time, if ever, so this was a bot tough to get into. It was good, but after watching Inoue and Hokuto from November this one was bound to suffer by comparison.

I thought Dynamite looked good as JWP's answer to Aja and Bull; she got thrown around a bit more than I'd like, but small women throwing around larger women isn't quite as galling to me as small men throwing around bigger men.

Ozaki and Suzuki looked like the much more coordinated team here, especially when they were working over Fukuoka's back, which they did to perfection. They almost had Dynamite put to sleep at one point as well, but chose to release the hold, which is one of my pet peeves. Why use the sleeper or dragon sleeper at all if you're going to release it before it can do its job? If all you want is a weardown hold, there are plenty that fill the bill better.

I'll have to see more JWP matches to know if I prefer the style to that of AJW, but this was certainly good enough for what it was. I'm looking forward to the interpromotional war!

I will agree that the style is preferable to AJW.  Suzuki's early strikes took me out of the match right away though.  Seemed like they were doing this weird stiffness/working holds morphing into AJW style (with Fukuoka even doing a Toyota dropkick sequence) and then back again.  Which also took me out of it.  Parts of it were good.  Not a fan of a lot of it.
