I'm not sure why they called this a No Holds Barred match considering they worked absolutely no different based on the gimmick. Pretty good, intense match to blow off the Bret/Owen feud, but not really anything worth going out of your way to see. Obviously, they have had way better matches.

I disagree with this part. They brawled to the back, slammed each other into guard rails, flung each other into ring steps, Bret slammed Owen on the concrete floor, Owen used his straps to choke Bret, etc. They worked the type of No Holds Barred match that was possible in 1995 WWF.

Bret almost reached Cena levels in overcoming the odds in this match. Besides Mania X, did Owen ever beat Bret in a singles match clean or sorta clean?

I watched this on the new Bret DVD and this was a pretty great little match just as I remembered. I thought it was awesome how both guys changed up their usual moves and had a totally different match to get over the No DQ stipulation. More so Bret since Owen always had to bit of a rule breaker anyway. A very good blow-off to one of my favorite feuds.

Should have been their Mania 11 match, billed as a last time ever meeting or something. Would have been a nice conclusion from the previous Mania and their year long feud, resulting in what would have surely been a blinding match on a card which sorely needed it.

as an aside this match/RAW went head to head with the infamous 1995 Academy Awards hosted by David Letterman

Good match that deserved a bigger setting with a little more freedom. I don't need broken tables and blood, but this would have come off better on PPV in an arena and not in a a seemingly empty fieldhouse in Stockton, CA. Not a great match, but good for the standards of WWF television at the time and pretty smartly worked considering what limitations they were under.

A really fun instalment in this famous rivalry. The two brothers brought plenty of intensity to the table. The pacing was tight with continuous action. Unusually for TV they went full length with a decisive finish. There wasn't any weapons usage or blood and in my opinion there didn't have to be. That's because it was wild and out of control in its context. Both men broke the rules and employed a rougher style. It was cool seeing them work a different type of match without changing who they were.
