Super match! The best lucha match of the year, and one of the top matches from anywhere for that matter. Some truly spectacular high-flying, probably more so than any of their other matches even. I was pretty blown away by this. I'm at a bit of a loss for words to really describe it well, but this was great! At this point, Rey and Psicosis (and Juventud) were probably the best aerial wrestlers in the world. This has every big highspot you would want to see from them, executed crisply to boot. But the matwork they start off with is superb too.

This takes the Rey-Psicosis template and adds a lucha title stip to the equation, kicking everything up a notch. The opening matwork actually comes off as serving a purpose rather than their usual perfunctory, let's-get-this-out-of-the-way juniors style matwork. More dramatic near-falls. Bigger build to the big dives. Submissions to end all three falls instead of the usual pinning combos. The best lucha match of the year and a candidate for the year's top-10 and top-15. Rey and Psicosis did so many touring matches in so many environments that this feels like their most complete match together--like the culmination of a major rivalry rather than the (still very enjoyable) Lucha 101 intro we're used to seeing.

Great high-flying match. They go through the aerial arsenal only for them to find it takes a DDT and a sweet submission to take home the W. I always enjoy watching these two. This is another one of those would have made this type of list for me, but likely not this high.

Through two falls I wasn't a huge fan of this. Something that really bugged me was how these two would invent new moves just for the hell of it. Not to become a regular part of their moveset. Not to fit in with the flow and context of the bout. It was purely innovation for the sake of innovation, and that's counterproductive. The tercera was a big improvement. Some really spectacular high flying with a good pace to it. Brought it inside my top 100 for the year.
