Loss
I wanted to watch this, but I really didn't expect this to be this good. As individual pairings of Flair/Steamboat and Flair/Sting, there is nothing you haven't seen before, but taken in the context of Regal/Sting and Regal/Steamboat, it's terrific, because all we're getting is spirited matwork for the first 10+ minutes of this. It starts feeling a little cheap when Flair and Sting are paired off for the first time and switch to their normal schtick, but up until then, it's building to a great match, and even after that, it's still really good. Regal is by far the best worker of the four, taking rapid fire bumps off of Steamboat's hot tag and doing some really awesome attempts to get out of Sting's armbar at the beginning of the match. Falls just short of being a great match, but stands out as different.
Kevin Ridge
So are they already turning Flair at this point? He's respectable towards Steamboat but heeling it up a bit versus Sting. Or maybe that's just their MO as you say. Always enjoy Flair/Steamboat. I actually wanted more out of Regal in this match as he'd come in, do great and then make a tag out. Enjoyable match that had me wanting more but still satisfying in the end.
flyonthewall2983
Flair worked heel quite a bit in his Saturday Night match with Sting in August '93.
Exposer
This was extremely satisfying. All four pairings were a blast for the first 10 minutes and Regal was phenomenal with his mat exchanges. He threw some nasty forearms on Sting that the Stinger sold beautifully. This was a really good match. It was one hell of a gem in my book. soup23
Real good tag match with pairings that are familiar but yet different. The crowd was hot and everyone played their role well.
PeteF3
Funny that I watch this just after listening to Chad talk about "turns within a match" on the latest WTBBP. Flair starts this off as a babyface, even though he's teaming with Regal--wrestling clean and doing handshakes (much to His Lordship's consternation). Then Sting press slams him, and Flair decides enough of the sportsmanship bullshit and becomes Classic Flair. At least to some degree. This is wrestled remarkably clean most of the way through, basically a World of Sport match with a southern tag layout. Very different kind of North American match with all four guys, even Sting, working outside of their comfort zone. It's not really at the level of the Blonds matches from a year ago or even the high-end Quebecers stuff, but it's a very well-worked tag match in any case.
