Shoe - you mentioned Moose really being off his game at this taping. I thought he alright in that four corner survival, but not bad. Somersault and the spear looked good.

Whilst not a fan of BJ Whitmer the wrestler, I am digging his heel character. really clicked with me during the Atlanta show and this stuff with ACH is real good. Seems to be setting up ACH + Moose vs. the Decade.

Tag match and reveal was well done, great hour of TV this week.

The tv this week was a 2 match show.

KES vs War Machine

Live I thought the brawling felt more chaotic than what appeared on tv. Still we got a good match here. The finish came off even worse on tv. We get some brawling to start. This was fun and goes on for a few minutes. We go to a traditional tag structure that sees Hanson as the FIP. He does a great job here. Hot tag and Rowe has some nice offense to hang his hat on. We get more brawling. Hanson with a dive. More fighting and the ref calls for the bell.

Lethal vs Ciampa

Live I was luke warm to the match. On TV I liked it much better. It helped that Lethal's work on top which was trepid live was interrupted with 2 commercial breaks. This helped a ton. Lethal's offense on the neck looked more focused. So the match benefited from a storyline perspective. Live it came across as a maybe 2* match. On tape it felt like a 2 3/4* match.

TV thoughts for this week:

I didn't think the traditional tag structure helped War Machine. Now - KES has size so it does make it more believable that they could work over either guy a they did, but I feel like an 8-10 minute brawl with big hoss moves would have been better. Way too long and the end was a mess and not hot at all. Disappointing.

Ciampa/Lethal was real good - Ciampa goes out on a high note. Thought he was real crisp. ***1/4 for me.

Yeah, basically Ciampa could make money going all over the place but he was hoping that with the money being thrown at the Briscoes that he could be an ROH exclusive. So when he wanted a bit more, they said no.

I don't think he's a top-tier name with ROH, anyways, so it's not a big deal. I think he'll make PWG his main base going forward.

I wonder if Alberto will work the San Antonio double shot ? If I am not mistaken he lives there . It would be an easy double shot for ADR , he could work and have a weekend at home.

Also will AAA send talent to ROH ? I know that ROH is sending Moose and ACH to the Trio's PPV , Maybe a couple of AAA guys would be booked in San Antonio . If Chikara can booked them . you think ROH could as well.

ROH has 4 really great looking shows this week. I hope the VOD is done pretty quick. At least we have a IPPV on Friday that looks pretty great. To kick off the killer week we got the final week of ROH TV from San Antonio Will and I attended.

Kyle o'Reilly vs Chris Sabin

Live we thought Sabin didn't do enough of working over O'Reilly's cut. On the tv the way it was edited he seemed much more focused on the cut. He worked on top and gave O'Reilly some nice hope segments with getting Sabin's arm. Sabin needs some new gear. The story of O'Reilly fighting through his injury was well done. 2 3/4*

Alberto El Patron/ACH/Matt Sydal vs Briscoes/Strong

This was a great match. We get a Lucha pairing off where all of them were well done. Patron's and Jay's pairing seemed off a bit. We get some great exchanges with everyone hitting their moves. Strong and Mark were tremendous in carrying their side. We get an awesome sequence that sees Patron nail a tope' . ACH goes for a dive, but Mark cuts him off and ACH is awesome as a FIP. The Briscoe team goes after his back. Strong in particular used some real cool variations of back breakers on ACH. It built and built and then we get the hot tag. Patron in and gets the crowd completely behind him. He gets cut off and plays a little FIP. Hot tag and everyone in. Great run that sets up a killer finish. Man what a great match. this was a ton of fun. Patron and Jay looked a little clunky working with each other. The dynamic wouldn't be the same, but Patron should have paired up with Strong more since they had a real good match a few months prior. 4 1/4*

Not sure if it was because the match was bad or because of time constraints, but they did cut Moose's other match where the timing was pretty bad for the 1st minute or 2.

TV this week is really good - ACH/Page gets a lot of time. I dislike that low-blow/roll-up finish after ACH kicked out of everything Page could offer prior but I guess I can retcon that all the previous damage compounded to him being unable to muster the energy after quite the nutshot. The rematch should have ACH hitting his finish clean and going over but other than that, I'm not sure what else these guys could break out. These guys put together a great match and I'm not sure how it can be topped.

The main event was great because I logically thought that Mark Briscoe would take the pin and War Machine would go over. The Briscoes are bullet proof anyway but damn if Jay didn't need a solid win like this. And Hanson got to kickout in a nice moment to put him over, but still takes the loss. Given their stature, I thought that made Jay look great going into his Best in the World stuff with, presumably, Lethal (who has a great bit shilling his DVD with Truth - Lethal the delusional heel champ is so good).

This was great tv with both matches delivering in spades. ACH and Page had a really strong match that told a good story. This match really elevated Page. War Machine and The Briscoes was such a great example of smash mouth wrestling. War Machine really is a totally different team than what they have on the roster present. ROH is really on fire and if you're not watching you're missing out.

I go to roughly one ROH show a year, as they're really good about running in NYC. This time it's Best in the World from Terminal 5. Only two matches announced are a #1 contender three-way between Elgin/Moose/Roderick, and the Jay vs. Jay / Title vs. Title. Now that Moose has re-upped his deal, it seems feasible for him to win. I don't care for Elgin at all, so hoping he's a non-entity there. Strong is having a career renaissance, but I prefer him as a heel.

As someone who hasn't kept up with ROH booking this year: is it that they're trying to unify the world and TV titles? (It's not being billed as such.) Or that they'd be willing to put both on someone and let them defend each separately? Or that this is bound to have a screwy finish and/or time limit draw? I usually dislike Title vs. Title matches, but going in ignorant, I at least feel like there's some intrigue to see where they'll go.

On the TV tapings Nigel went on and on about how someone will walk out with both titles.

I suspect this is a WM6 deal. Lethal has claimed to be the top champion in ROH for a while now, so it only makes sense that they determine which title is better. I would assume Briscoe wins, and there is a TV Title tournament afterwards.

Shoe - if you're caught up on ROH VOD/PPV and TV, check out their Ringside Members archive for 2014. Now, it should be updated so anything outside a calendar year is included but they're spotty there - BUT - the 12th Anniversary show from Feb '14 in Philly is a killer card and I'm only maybe 2/3 of the way through. Worth seeking out.
