They show a clip from Worldwide of the Freebirds attacking the Rock & Roll Express and whipping Ricky Morton with a belt. This doesn't have the heat you would think, even though it's a good little brawl. The Birds are gloating about it at Center Stage. Garvin is barely awake here, but Hayes can cut a hell of a promo. The Rock & Rolls show up with belts, and the Birds bail. Cornette ends up left in the ring with them, and Cornette tries sucking up to them. Cornette ends up leading the crowd in a "rock and roll" chant in a hilarious moment. Good segment.

Hayes accuses the Rock 'n Roll Express of being "incorrigible young punks," which sounds more like something Mr. Backlund would say rather than a true rock 'n roll band. Hayes continues to threaten them until bailing out upon seeing the R'nRs storm the ring with belts. Cornette is absolutely priceless here trying to make nice with Ricky & Robert.

Great promo by Michael Hayes. He still had a lot to offer in a verbal capacity in 1990, even if he's shot as a worker. Funny segment when the Rock 'n' Roll hit the ring and Cornette immediately starts kissing their ass to save his hide. Fun segment that makes an otherwise unimportant low card tag feud have a little bit of meaning.

Nice promo by the Birds, but Corny's the star here, saying whatever he has to in order to avoid a whipping from Ricky and Robert. It's a reminder that the issue between Rock and Roll and the MX, while it may lie dormant on occasion, will never really die.

Hayes looks awful in the eye makeup, and Garvin's just grabbing a paycheck. Oh, for the days of Bamm Bamm and Buddy Jack.

So this the footage we didn't get to see. Not as gruesome as they made it out to be.... Michael Hayes is dressed like some kind of Sam Kinnison or something. Jimmy Jam doesn't do much here, and not even a yeah yeah yeah out of him.... but Hayes cuts a good promo. Corny leading a rock and roll chant is great, and his little glanges to the camera are great as well.

For once Jim Cornette’s guests aren’t Ric Flair and Woman, it’s the world’s greatest Rock & Roll band, the Fabulous Freebirds, Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin. Before he talks to them he wants to see the videotape of when they whipped those dirty cowards, the Rock & Roll Express! They air a clip from Worldwide of the Freebirds jumping Morton and Gibson after a squash and whipping them with a leather strap. Back at Center Stage and Cornette thinks that was the greatest thing he’s ever seen. Garvin wonders if they can see the tape again, maybe in slow motion, but Cornette suggests instead of seeing that tape again, why don’t they just do it again? Hayes says how in every arena they go to the crowd say ‘Rock and Roll’, but it looks to him like there isn’t one thing that is ‘Rock and Roll’ about the Rock & Roll Express; they’re nothing but incorrigible hoodlums, snotty nosed brats that won’t listen when they’re told what to do! He tells them at Capital Combat it is a ‘corporal punishment country whipping match’, they’ve both got belts, but they’re going to meet up sometime before then. At this point the crowd start cheering and Garvin jumps out of the ring quickly followed by Hayes. Cornette’s not sure what’s going on, turns around and sees the Rock & Roll Express behind him and takes a pratfall to the canvas! He’s on his knees and starts sucking up to them, ‘buddies, pals’, and claims he was just saying how they’re going to beat up the Freebirds and win that match, how they’ve never really had a chance to talk and they could be friends! The Rock & Rolls are carrying straps and they get Cornette to admit that they are the greatest tag team in the world today before he even tries to get the crowd to start a ‘Rock & Roll’ chant! When Morton says that the fans have come to see them whip somebody and the Freebirds aren’t here…he gets out of there sharpish.

Cornette and his backtracking was hilarious, especially when he was on his knees and trying to lead the crowd in a ‘Rock & Roll’ chant. Decent little Hayes promo too prior to the Rock & Rolls coming out.
