Loss Posted January 2, 2013 Author Report Share Posted January 2, 2013 Once again, Sherri proves herself the proto-Lady Gaga. Check out that outfit. Yes! Start of the Savage/Warrior feud. We see Warrior peeking through the curtain as Sherri talks about needing the contract signed to make a Savage title shot official. Sherri cuts one of her better promos, getting a "Warrior" chant going for this crowd. The crowd pops big when he finally comes out, or at least I thought, but the noise also sounded a little piped in, so who knows. Warrior tears up the contract and gets in Sherri's face. She eventually slaps him. And slaps him again! And slaps him again! Awesome. I could watch that all day. Warrior ends up destroying the set. Sherri has a royal proclamation for a Savage title match--it just needs the Warrior's John Hancock. Jack Tunney's office has been no help and Sherri believes the Warrior is illiterate. Brother Love is pretty awesome here, too. Warrior tears up the contract and after a few slaps from Sherri and demands for Savage to come out, Warrior gets in a genuinely good line for the first time this year, believing Savage has "found LUUUUV somewhere else." Seriously, even something like THIS is all the Rude feud needed, at least at the start. This isn't the angle of the year or anything but we've got two dynamic personalities (or three, really) all bouncing off each other directly. Sherri has a contract for a match but Warrior refuses to sign. We can see Warrior hanging out near the entrance. Finally he joins the show. Warrior rips up the contract. He thinks Savage is hiding behind Sherri’s skirt. Sherri slaps him. Love had me cracking up trying to diffuse the tension. Warrior trashes the set and runs off. garretta Posted February 21, 2015 Report Share Posted February 21, 2015 I didn't like this much. Sherri was brilliant, but the idea was weak. All Warrior's doing by ripping up the contract is proving Sherri's point; he is a coward and a closet champion who doesn't want to face a former titleholder who could beat him. After all the missteps they've made with Warrior this year, they didn't need to make another one here, but they did. How could they have fixed this? Simple. Have Warrior sign the so-called "royal proclamation" only for Tunney's office to declare it null and void; you need an official WWF-approved contract to get a title match, and Savage's recent performances haven't earned him one. Savage and Sherri vow to go on a rampage to force Tunney's hand, while Warrior vows to be ready for Savage any time, anyplace. You don't need to reinvent the wheel here, Vince. The ancillary stuff was good; Warrior destroying the Brother Love set got a nice pop, and Prichard was amusing as a "mediator" between Sherri and Warrior. Interesting unintentional foreshadowing, as Warrior's claim that Savage has found love somewhere else would come true by the end of this feud. I'm not sure whether Warrior referring to Savage as "Macho Man" instead of "Macho King" was supposed to happen or not.
