It was indeed weird how they had a huge rush of merchandise during this period, both direct response and moreso at retail. I remember buying some of the really cheap looking AWA ones in the mid/late 80s but the WCW ones this year were great. With all the absolute trash on WCW TV at this point in time, I'm willing to accept something even passable (like this) as a huge step up. They didn't even go off on some useless tangent or show how flimsy/breakable the merchandise was inadvertently. It's a big win if you ask me.
