That could be/probably is a relic resulting from the fact that the show was prepared and archived during the name dispute, then not redone afterwards.

Looks like some of the uploads are the CoD versions, whereas some are untouched

There are several examples on the Network of previously mandated censoring that they didn't bother undoing when the issues were resolved. I'd imagine they just feel it's too much of a pain in the ass to go back over everything.

They don't care enough (and shouldn't, it's really not worth the time) to go back to the master, ie the original videotape, to create a new digital version now that the issue is resolved.

This has repeatedly been shown NOT to be the case vis a vis blurring, removed commentary, "WWF" edits, etc--or else, again, they just don't care about showing the unedited digital version if it exists. I would be amazed if more than a few thousand people in the entire world really give a damn about it. Not that I'm not one, or that it shouldn't be done right on principle--but in the scheme of things, it's understandably an afterthought.

Yeah I'm sure they have a digital copy of their tapes which they edit as they see fit. But as others have said they seem to have thrown up in 2014 when the network launched whatever version of ppvs and tv shows they had to hand. That's my opinion anyway.

Between the Wrestlemania Pre-Show, and this episode of Table for 3, I have discovered that Shawn Michaels has apparently lost the ability to finish a complete sentence with any semblance of cohesion.

On the podcast with Ross recently, Michaels was super thought-out and clear when he was talking about coaching at the PC.

 

It was the best I've ever heard the guy speak and didn't sound like any editing involved.

 

Totally different from all the other talking spots he does.

 

Scott Steiner is another big 'ya know' guy.

Yes, I've noticed there's been occasions where he's been sounding an awful lot like rambly "no condition to perform" Shawn, but we all know that couldn't be the reason nowadays since Jesus chased the demons away (/sarcasm for those who miss it).

I can't stand Shawn Michaels, and I honestly think he is one of the most wildly overrated Professional Wrestlers in the history of the business (although, not around here thankfully.) With Angle popping up again all this talk of his WM match with Michaels being one of the greatest matches of all time has made me want to weep for fans that believe that. But most of all, for years I especially couldn't stand the stories of his backstage political hi-jinks, and was firmly in the Bret Hart camp when it came to the Bret vs. Shawn debacle.

 

Quite a while back, I ended up catching that "Greatest Rivalries - Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart" special hosted by Jim Ross. I watched it, and actually came out of it a lot more sympathetic to Shawn (as he is now) than I was towards Bret. At the time, of their backstage problems, I do think Bret was probably in the right most of the time, but Shawn appears to have actually experienced a degree of wisdom and personal growth with age. Whereas even during the documentary and sometimes uncomfortable interview with JR, the tension, bitterness and refusal to let go by Bret (despite his claims that he has) made Bret come across as quite a bit of a tool.

 

Maybe it's the former Social Worker in me, but I really want to believe Shawn Michaels has changed as a person and isn't the same guy who got sent home from his aborted comeback in 2000/2001. I especially enjoyed the fact that he clearly doesn't give a crap what anybody thinks or says about him. He's not a dick about it, but he claims he isn't that guy anymore and his life no longer revolves around the business so what people inside it think doesn't affect him. Contrast that with Bret, who is in some ways obsessed with his legacy.

 

I can't believe I am saying this, but I am actually hoping Shawn is just rusty on the microphone, and not fallen back to his old substance abusing ways or even worse, suffered some sort of permanent neurological damage from his career either in or outside the ring. Not that I would wish ill on the guy regardless, but I never once cheered him on as a wrestler, I still can't help but cheer for him a bit as a human being. I really have bought the idea that he has changed. Maybe I'm just a big sucker.

I would hope it's just being uncomfortable with the highly scripted current WWE format (which a lot of guys from his era and before have struggled with) and not anything else as well, but there's something about the level of jackass that he was before and not believing those particular leopards can change their spots.

Quite honestly, just judging from what I saw of the pre-show (which I jokingly thought it was smart of them to put him on the side of the panel), I really didn't notice him acting weird at all. I think the issue of the current format clashing with the format as it was when he was active, can certainly be a problem with not just him but others too.

It's quite amusing how Bill Watts seems to have a complete inability to pronounce Jim "Doogan" Duggan's name properly on these Mid South shows.

He mentions in is book that when he was in I think San Antonio, that's how he got some heat as a heel. The announcers would call him Doogan, but he'd cut interviews that they were saying it wrong, which led to the crowd chanting "cock-eyed Doogan" at him.

Watts seemed to call ted dibiase ted dibias and seems to not pronounce the E at the end of his name.
