iamthedoctor
No word on a May content drop yet? PWInsider: Reports that WWE plans to add 104 episodes of Mid-Atlantic TV in May, which will finish that promotion’s run. They will add another 76 episodes of Mid-South in June and 50 episodes of WCW Saturday Night in July. They also have Sunday Night Heat ready to add whenever they choose, as well as additional WWE Coliseum Home Video titles later this year. 76 additional episodes of Mid South makes me happy. Having a tag team of Heat and Mid-Atlantic this month seems to be the best way to make everyone happy. Its a great selection even though id prefer Challenge/Superstars instead. C.S.
I enjoyed the Shawn Michaels 1995 episode of Something ELSE to Wrestle on WWE Network - although I'm sure it's all old news to the podcast listeners - but my God, the Bruce/Conrad arguments feel really fake and forced. Conrad accusing Bruce, who is essentially of BOSS, of kissing WWE's ass feels beyond manufactured for the sake of drama. I'll give them both credit for being great actors though - their "put upon" expressions look genuine, if nothing else. I would love for Vince to listen to one episode of this show and say, "Damn it, no more Meltzer! You're banned from mentioning him ever again, pal." Every other word out of Conrad's mouth is Meltzer this and Meltzer that. It's lame and obnoxious. With that said, I don't want it to sound like I'm bashing Conrad - I think he does a pretty good job (and a thankless job at that) of steering the ship of the show. Otherwise, these shows are a fun trip down memory lane and a great reminder of some classic angles I had almost forgotten about - like the Shawn-Owen "post concussion syndrome" collapse on Raw, which was incredible stuff at the time and absolutely seemed real to me, or at least cast enough doubt in my mind. Mad Dog
Does anyone know what belt John Studd has on the December 1981 Mid-Atlantic shows?
DR Ackermann
Looking at Wikipedia it's most likely the NWA Canadian Heavyweight Championship as he was the champ at the time.
Mad Dog
Cool. They never mentioned it and it was familiar looking but I didn't recognize it.
Mad Dog
I knew Sgt. Slaughter was good but damn. Watching him doing squashes weekly and cutting weekly promos. It's an absolute delight to watch the guy do his thing.

Gutenberger
Table for 3 with Styles, Angle and Shane was... surreal. I mean, I ways enjoy those guys just sitting there and talking, gives off a nice vibe. But then not only did they talk about Kurt vs. AJ in TNA, they even showed freaking footage of it, but in the end th even advertised the GWN. Perhaps this shouldn't be so much of a surprise, with Dixie appearing in the 24 on Angle, but still... Something I'd never have imagined i see. topropepodcast
I think a lot of it comes from them collaborating on the Hardy Boyz set (which I think means that the Final Deletion will be included), so now there's some kind of loose arrangement when it comes to using the footage. iamthedoctor
Something I found a bit odd. Watching the simucast Raw was perfect but when the Nitro version came up the beginning with Vince quality looked bad. I know quality of WCW tapes about not storing them properly but Vince owned WCW by this time as it was the final show so logically the quality should have been the same as Raw. Had they made everything official the week before when it looked like the Fusion deal with Bischoff was done, Id agree. But since it was literally a few days earlier, there probably wasnt much care beyond letting the Nitro crews do their thing one last time. JRH
Has anyone noticed that the recently uploaded shows (I dont just mean the PPVs, but the vault stuff like Heat and WCWSN) dont have chapter stops? I wonder why, especially since it helps if you're looking for a specific match.

I don't normally watch on a PC or laptop so I don't get the dots, but funny enough I did last night and I noticed it and changed browsers in case it was that problem. I was watching the September 13th, 1998 episode of heat(which includes a Vader vs ken shamrock match) and as I say I noticed the dots missing. TheDuke
Im guessing it takes them more time to put the dots in and they figured it was better the get the most stuff up as quickly as possible then to spend time going through each episode to add those chapters and the associated tags that must go with them. They must assume most people watch full shows now rather than skipping to the matches they want to see.
C.S.
The Ted DiBiase episode of the Prichard podcast on the Network was fun. You could tell Bruce was leaning in and luxuriating in his own BS this week, but based on his facial expressions, I think he was doing it with a wink and a nod. I wonder if it's like that on the audio podcast too but it gets lost in translation because you can't see his face. Lots of interesting stories about the Ted's debut, the production of the vignettes, the creation of the Million Dollar Belt, etc. Conrad's disdain for Brutus "the fucking Barber" Beefcake was very odd. I realize it's "hip" to develop amnesia about just how over Beefcake was, and what a big part of the WWF he was in the '80s, but this felt a tad obnoxious to me. Ditto for Conrad's takedowns of Virgil. Was the guy ever a super-worker? No. But that was a hot storyline, regardless of Conrad's opinion. Awesome story about Vince on a plane as "the true Million Dollar Man."
Mad Dog
I feel like Beefcake had become what I would call an average worker with bouts of slightly above average in 1989. He really wasn't that bad in the ring. Limited obviously but there are plenty of limited guys out there with far better reputations. Now, post injury he was the absolute shits but that was a pretty brutal injury he suffered. Virgil was okay too. Guy did his job and did it pretty well. Mrzfn
What were Beefcake's best matches of the period? I've been watching through some of that era recently and every time he comes up it's a groaner. He's not the worst guy on the roster by any means but I don't think I've ever seen a singles match that I would actively call good.

Mad Dog
There was a Primetime Wrestling match with Rick Rude that was pretty good from 1989 as well.
sek69
Not a match per se, but I enjoyed the whole series of events that led to Brutus breaking away from Johnny V. Plus the Barber gimmick is one of those things everyone remembers from that era so that has to count for something. He probably should have retired after the injury, but I'm sure he had major bills to pay (plus being a Friend of Hogan was a pretty sweet gig to have). victory
There's the match against Savage on SNME before SummerSlam 89, and also... Yeah that was the only one I could think of off the top of my head as well. Obviously there are plenty of tags with Valentine. His weaknesses are hidden in those matches and he's definitely acceptable.
