Vince introduces Kane as the new WWF champ. Paul Bearer cuts an awesome promo in celebration. Just as Vince is about to strap the belt on Kane, Austin's music starts. Austin is really pissed off and great here, even more than usual. He wants a rematch and the pressure is on. Vince tries to pass the buck to Paul Bearer to okay it, and Paul Bearer does the same to Kane. Austin is awesome, making the point to Kane that he is still in Undertaker's shadow. Surprisingly, Kane as the corporate champ kind of works here. Austins promo was good but Bearer and Kane drifted too far into Mr. Fuji territory for me agreeing eagerly to the title match. My favorite part is the passing the buck from Vince to Bearer to Kane because the first two are too chicken to tell Austin to his face no. Loved this! I like the idea of Kane being an ideal corporate champion because of overcoming a rough background to become a superstar, sort of a perverse twist on an old sports cliche, with Vince too far gone to realize that. Austin is out and successfully goads Kane into a rematch, as he points out that Kane didn't win the title last night, Undertaker won it for him.
