I am huge on Walker, thought he had an incredibly great 2013 (top ten guy in the World in my view, borderline top five), but there are Southern indie guys I'd rate over or equal to him, who aren't nominated, and I don't think I would nominate. I am sympathetic to the idea of representing the underrepresented Southern indie scene with one of my last few picks, but not sure I can do it at the end of the day.
