I want the fake MichiPro/NJPW post-merger entity to be at least somewhat viable as a competitor in this reality but also I'm totally taking their guys if I want. Every native that I didn't inherit or get in a Larger Acquisition will have been with AJPW or NOAH for multiple years. Like, I want an insanely sick promotion here, but not TOO insanely sick. "Insanely sick" to the point of legitimately wasting talent just so I can say that I have it.

 

I'm going to use WAR shows as mini-indie summits with Big Japan, FMW, IWA Japan, et cetera having representatives.

Thank you for the permission. I don't know why that matters to me but it kinda does; I asked Grimmas for an FMW rep for the J-Cup and he suggested Hanzo while forgetting Hayabusa.

I like the mixing of teams, but I do take issue with the pairing of Kobashi and Hansen. Only because Kobashi was Hansen's best opponent, lol. The junior division is a nice addition, I think that one thing you could do is shore up the heavyweight division with some big names like Vader that were not there until 1998 and would have been a breath of fresh air right around 1995-ish. Maybe bring in somebody like Masato Tanaka or a different guy on that level for Akiyama to feud with that wasn't way up there out of his league.

It's Kawada/Kobashi vs. Hansen/Taue. I thought that Hansen, hating all the young natives as he would, would be the perfect hired gun to bail out Taue against Misawa & co.. DEFINITELY would want Hansen-Kobashi faceoffs. Now, how having three legit aces in one faction shuffles out...

 

My plan is to do a UWFi merger, which will leave some guys out like Maeda because there is just no world in which he'd ever have worked for AJPW without him or Baba killing the other, and then your other RINGS guys are more borderline in how I'd use them, which is part of why explicitly keeping the "WAR" brand around, to do explicitly un-King's Road stuff, even with Tenryu as full-time AJ was part of my plan when I took over even in 2016. That gets some big name heavies, the true key being Hash.

 

I had a revelation about the AJPW junior division really just being their TV title division a few weeks ago (Fuchi as Arn, Kiku as Brad Armstrong, Ogawa as Morton, J. Malenko as Larry in a way), but I'd already reintroduced the All-Asia singles as my #2 anyway. That way the true juniors get their title & the AJ-style juniors plus young guys (Akiyama, Honda, Nishimura) have an IC title.

 

My main plan with Akiyama was always to set him up with a Nishimura rivalry, just because they've always worked so well together in reality. Tanaka was absolutely on my mind, and with the UWFi guys come the bigger BAT-BAT boys like Otsuka (and even though he's technically in FMW, that no longer matters so Ikeda) who absolutely could have been on that level of stardom if given the chance. I'm investing in Honda/Takayama before either really did hit their peaks in NOAH but eh, why not give them a chance? Maybe Nobutaka Araya could have hit the big time with the right push, and unlike Misawa did both in the post-Baba run for AJPW and in NOAH, I don't have the foreigner aversion so Regal and (if this is all fiction anyway) Alex Wright are there. And, of course, for those who know me... Brian Dyet.

Regal is a great choice. He brings some things to that division that it sorely needs to spice it up. I like Nish also, he can help keep things from constantly having to go forward and show the value in looking back in time to find new ways of doing things.

As Iizuka tended to his stablemates, Ogawa, as the #2 member of Revolution, officially invited Ultimo to join the stable and also gain WAR's assistance for any of his future projects, which he accepted. Dos Caras appeared in AJPW for the first time in 12 years and stated that he was jumping from Asahi Pro to join Revolution & WAR as well, to become Ultimo's partner. (20:00)

6) Tamon Honda & Jun Izumida defeat Samson Fuyuki & Koki Kitahara to WIN the All-Asia Tag Team Championship via submission by Honda on Fuyuki after applying an Olympic Hell choke. The Olympus team were jubilant in picking up their first career AJPW championships but the Romantic Warriors were disgusted and all five Revolution members to have appeared during the fourth match (Caras, Dragon, Ogawa, Orihara, & Yasuraoka) came to their defense, again attempting a beatdown before being run off by the Faces of Fear. Tenryu finally appeared, laughing, and stating that while the title loss was a setback, that the day of reckoning for AJPW in which Revolution would ultimately succeed had already been set in motion. 7) Black Cat & Negro Casas defeat Masanobu Fuchi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi to WIN the WAR International Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship via pinfall by Black Cat on Kikuchi after a folding powerbomb. Black Tiger II & a debuting Felino appeared to support the other members of the La Peste Negra/Los Gatos Locos collective in their dominance over the AJPW junior heavyweight division. (15:37)

8) Black Tiger II defeats Masashi Aoyagi to RETAIN the AJPW World Junior Heavyweight Championship via submission after applying an STF. Aoyagi's leg was already weakened from having had two intense matches in the Super J-Cup the night before and Tiger immediately went to work on it, drawing Aoyagi into going for multiple desperation Kick of Death attempts only to punish him with dragon screws and dropkicks to the knee. He repeatedly went for his stablemate AKIRA's trademark STF to assert revenge for his loss the night before, finally torturing Aoyagi into tapping out. Jushin Liger, the man who had eliminated Aoyagi the night before, immediately made a surprise appearance in order to challenge Tiger to a title match, regardless of what happened in the J-Cup. Since they could only meet in the final, Liger said that he would only put up his own Asahi Pro Welterweight Championship if Tiger defeated him there but that he wanted Tiger next no matter what. Tiger told him that he'd love to restore their rivalry but only if Giant Baba and the Championship Committee declared Liger a worthy challenger. (12:42)

9) Haku, Takashi Iizuka, Konga, Osamu Nishimura, & Kazuo Yamazaki defeat Nobutaka Araya, The Great Kabuki, Takashi Ishikawa, Yoshinari Ogawa, & Genichiro Tenryu in a tag team elimination match. Kabuki & Konga were simultaneously eliminated quickly into the match via countout after brawling at ringside (4:48), and eventually to the back after Tenryu sent out Samson Fuyuki to attack Konga and bait Haku into saving his partner, causing his own elimination (5:39). Ishikawa was eliminated via submission by Yamazaki in his debut for AJPW after Yamazaki applied a jujigatame (11:26), Iizuka was eliminated via pinfall by Tenryu following a Tenryu lariat and an Araya moonsault (17:03), Araya was eliminated via submission by Nishimura after Nishimura applied a Dragon sleeper (20:48), Ogawa was eliminated via submission after Nishimura applied a figure-four leglock (23:57), Nishimura was eliminated via TKO after Tenryu hit a top rope back elbow drop in an attempt to break the hold Nishimura had on Ogawa (24:01), Yamazaki eliminated Tenryu via referee stoppage after immediately pouncing on him following the Nishimura elimination and applying a rear-naked choke (24:36), winning the match for the Faces of Fear/Red Lions team. Yamazaki announced that he was proud to finally be a member of the All Japan roster but that he was there to represent his dojo and his style of fighting and nobody else's; if that meant destroying Revolution or any other faction in the process, so be it. (24:36)

10) Jun Akiyama & Steve Williams defeat Mitsuharu Misawa & Takao Omori via pinfall by Williams on Misawa after a Doctor Bomb. Williams's return to AJPW was swiftly felt as he continuously destroyed Omori through the match, allowing Akiyama to rampage upon his former mentor in Misawa as long as he could without being interrupted, but when the coup de grace came, Williams sent Akiyama after Omori to ensure that they would get the win themselves and proceeded to hit a devastating version of his iconic gutwrench Doctor Bomb. Akiyama seemed miffed but Williams told him that he'd be "Dr. Death"'s first challenger for the Triple Crown after he took it from Misawa, feeling that this pin guaranteed him as the next contender. (16:37)

11) Stan Hansen & Akira Taue defeat Toshiaki Kawada & Kenta Kobashi to WIN the 1995 Real World Tag League AND the AJPW World Tag Team Championship via pinfall by Taue on Kawada after a pair of Nodowa Otoshi bombs. The match was as much of a war as expected, with all four men smelling the blood in the water immediately after both Hansen & Taue started the match with lariats to Kobashi & Kawada sending them over the top rope and Hansen following it with a rare dive through the ropes, creaming the two reigning champions. Taue wanted explicit vengeance on Kawada for his betrayal and used his mastery of the tag setting to never let Dangerous K have even a moment's rest as Hansen clobbered Kobashi every chance that he got. But neither champion took it laying down as both took the aging Hansen off of his feet several times, including with an enziguri/lariat combination that nearly landed them the three count, and Kawada baiting Taue into having his famous usage of the ring apron backfire on him with Kobashi spearing him through the ropes as Kawada provoked Taue into a forearm exchange. But ultimately the champions could not manage the true anger and desire to win by the challengers, and after Hansen's biggest Western Lariat of the match to Kobashi, Kawada was left defenseless to Taue's chokeslams.
