I have a VPN, get the US Network and watch on a Roku. I got it before it was available in Canada. My wife and I cut the chord around that time and I'm not going to go back just to be able to get the Network. It costs me a few dollars more per month having to pay in USD, but it's worth it for the convenience

Question for the Canadians: WWE Network is an actual channel up there, right? How does that work? Can you log in to the website/smart apps to access the library or are you limited to what is being shown on TV at that given moment?

With WWE Network in Canada, you do get to sign in to the website and are able to view all they stuff in The Vault that way. Also, on the TV, if you go to the On Demand menu on the remote, at least with my cable provider, you are able to access some of the old PPVs, of which they seem to cycle some of the old ones out and some new ones in every month. Also in On Demand, in the vault there were some old episodes of Tuesday Night Titans, OLD ECW (like 1993), and some of the Old School WWF house shows, as well as a lot of the newer network exclusive shows, and some of the DVD documentaries that are on there. So not everything, and not even most things, but there is some stuff to watch if you don't like watching it on your computer.

You can log into the website & select your cable provider & then login using your wwe account. If you have an HDMI cord you're good to go. On the actual channel it plays the live feed.

It all depends on who your cable provider is. I am a Bell customer, and have my television packaged in with my home phone and internet through their fiber optics service known as "Bell Fibe." It's a pretty good deal, but unfortunately I cannot access any of the WWE Network On Demand or Vault content through the website. You can apparently do that with some cable companies in Canada, but not with Bell.

To answer sek, I pay $10.99 a month, and for that I get the "live stream" but as an actual television channel on my TV. It's listed right next to The Fight Network and all the other Sports Channels. Also, like Duke said, if I use the On Demand feature on my remote, I can access a very limited range of WWE Network content through my Bell On Demand service. They have some classic content and a limited range of some of their network exclusive shows and documentaries. They continually rotate the content on a weekly basis, so it all depends what week it is when you check out the listings. They have about 30 of the DVD documentaries listed, for example.

The reason it is like that in Canada, is because in order to make money the WWE signed an exclusive deal with Rogers Cable in Ontario for a while, to give Rogers exclusive rights to offer the ongoing Network Stream as an actual cable channel, for a monthly fee. Other cable companies got in on the deal later when fans made a huge stink. (Rogers is not available in all areas, or some people like me are not going to sign up for Rogers just to get the Network, when I have all my other services bundled together with Bell, it makes no sense.)

When Rogers and WWE made their stupid exclusive deal and screwed Canadian fans out of all of the On Demand content, a lot of fans went the VPN route and got the WWE network through back channels. It became such an issue that Rogers later ended up offering a limited amount of On Demand content in the manner I described above, to try and placate fans and keep them from cancelling or signing up through backdoor methods.

I considered using a VPN and hooking my laptop up to my TV using an HDMI cable, that way I could watch the live stream on my TV and have the entire On Demand archive from the American WWE Network available at my fingertips, but so far I have not done it. Partially, it is due to laziness. Right now, I can get the live Network Stream as a TV channel just by turning on my TV. That means I get every PPV, NXT and every Network Exclusive show on TV, and some limited On Demand content at my fingertips. Also, the TV channel for us is the exact same as the live Network Stream for people who have it on their computers, but at least I can record and save events on my PVR. I already have my PVR set for the NXT show and Summerslam this weekend, for example. I still have a ton of content from the past couple of years saved on my PVR.

It does irritate me that we don't get all the WWE Network content that Americans get, but as I said, if it gets to be a major issue I can easily get around it for the same amount of money - and having the network as an actual TV channel is pretty convenient.

Funnier WCW tapings related mishap: kicking off the dispute with the NWA by spoiling an unauthorized world title switch, or having the Freebirds come out announced as champs and losing before winning them on the live Clash creating a negative days long title reign?

I was always kind of partial to them introducing Terry Taylor as "the Computerized Man of the 1990's" before he'd joined the York Foundation, then acting surprised when he did.

Really? When I go to login on the website it shows Bell as one of the providers you can sign in with. After you sign in with your WWE.COM login, it takes you to a page with the logos of a bunch of different TV providers, and it looks to me like Bell is one of the ones listed. When I click on Bell it takes me to a different page that asks you to login with you MyBell login and password. Maybe try that?

*checks*

...

WHAT THE SHIT?!

When the @#$%&*?!? did THIS happen? When they added the On Demand feature to the Bell package last March, the standard U.S. version Network was still not available, because I checked then. I even emailed WWE and asked them when and if the standard network would ever be available to Canadians, and I never got a response.

Hell, the wikipedia entry on the WWE Network in Canada even still says...

The subscription also includes access to a video on demand library with a limited number of offerings, accessible via cable set-top box (somewhat similar to the former WWE Classics on Demand package), but does not currently provide access to the Internet-based on-demand library.

I even checked again about 6 weeks ago, and saw that they were offering the Network online to some subscribers, but not Bell Canada and not Fibe. Sometime since the last time I checked, they obviously added Fibe to the list of providers who can now offer the Network...and NEVER BOTHERED TO TELL THE SUBSCRIBERS.

I don't know if I should be angry that I can get the Network now and never even knew thanks to Bell and WWE not telling me - or happy that I can FINALLY get all the On Demand content everybody else can, PLUS I get the Network Stream as an independent TV channel!

Mr. Duke, you are now my official favorite poster at PWO. Thanks for pointing that out. I know what I am going to be wasting my time doing over the next couple of weeks!

I can't believe this.

I found out what happened. About a month ago, Bell updated their service so that all of the content available through the Fibe TV package can now be accessed online on your laptop, tablet, phone, whatever. So essentially, as a Fibe subscriber I can watch TV on any device now. Not only did the WWE Network fall under that umbrella, but so did all of the On Demand content covered by Fibe. Bell did send an email out telling me that all Fibe content can be accessed on any device, but they didn't mention that meant that WWE Network subscribers could now have full access to the entire network. I guess I could have inferred that, but I didn't and I still think it would have been nice if they would have specifically mentioned it. Especially since so many fans have complained about not having access to the complete network.

Ah well, I only missed about a month, and all is well that ends well.

I am thankful for this thread, though! Otherwise I might have never figured it out.

Which Clash of the Champions was it that got spoiled when WCW ran the wrong pre-taped weekend show the weekend before that gave away all of the results of the not yet aired live show?

Speaking of WCW and things being unaired do you reckon WWE has the stuff that never made it to air like the interview with Sid as WCW Champion after he beat Vader at Starrcade 93?

I know Flair was the replacement that won the title but you hear over the years about stuff being filmed in advance.

The Sid taped as champion stuff is just a myth. The July tapings that Sid was part of only ran through 11/20, a few weeks before Starrcade. The November 12th taping for the end of the month and post-Starrcade was more than two weeks after the stabbing and suspension, Sid wasn't around for those at all. He had already taped some BattleBowl promos that made it to TV, and the edited match where the Kongs took him out after the Clash aired. His run in and subsequent match with one of the Kongs never aired since they knew he was done. Those two things could possibly be in their tapes. Not sure a Sid-Kong squash would count as a hidden gem, but be interesting to see nonetheless.

Were there any other stuff they filmed years ago from that time period? If the Sid thing was a myth when you read various magazines and they say about people filmed with the belts in Disney because the crowd wasen't wrestling fans I was wondering who else might have had taped stuff.

Im sure there was a tag team who did this but can't remember there name.

The Freebirds (Hayes/Garvin) had the tag belts and were taped losing them before they ever won them at the following week's Clash. That was what I was referencing earlier.

You may be mixing up two different reigns, which is understandable. Are you talking about 1991 when they lost the belts at a taping to the Steiners before they actually won them from Doom at Wrestlewar? In 1989, they'd also lost them to the Steiners, that time it had been taped before the upcoming Clash where they defended them against the Road Warriors. But they beat the Roadies via DQ to retain them.

There was also a deal where the Nasty Boys, Harlem Heat and Dick Slater/Bunkhouse Buck's title changes were a bit out of order. Harlem Heat was taped regaining the belts from the Nasty Boys before the Nasty Boys had actually won the belts from them at Slamboree. Then Buck and Slater were taped beating Heat for the belts, before they'd aired the previous rematch and Heat had yet to win the belts back on TV.

I think it was the Nasties switching with Scorpio/Bagwell also...

The Scorpio/Bagwell win was taped a few weeks earlier, but didn't air until the day before Halloween Havoc. Then the Nasties regained at the PPV. So it was a one day reign in TV time, but nothing out of order.

Looking back now do you feel it was a regret that Test didn't win the WWF Title at Survivor Series 1999?

He had history with Triple H after screwing with his wedding and he picked up a few victories over Triple H and he seemed the logical choice to be the next big star.

Did his push get stopped for some reason as it seemed they just tried to job him out before he went on to T & A and Big Show instead won the gold.
