So, not only do we sacrifice the best male heel on the Raw roster in Rusev to get a 49 year old man who is back for one match over, said 49 year old then proceeds to fall down delivering a knee strike....

we are off to a fantastic start.

Eh, the non-Heyman part of that segment was a lot of fun. However, I'm not watching something called a "trick or street fight". Kind of implies that the winners get to pimp out the losers on the streets of Hartford after the show.

I like how the Bryan/Miz angle is developing. When it began on Talking Smack Miz was basically right and Bryan was just being a douchebag to him (and it was even more hypocritical given Bryan's history of being picked on by authority figures). Miz wasn't really doing anything too egregious to warrant Bryan harrassing him like he was the first few weeks. He wasn't even cheating much.

But now as things play out on telly you get Miz being a total fucking dick to Dolph in trying to keep and regain the IC Title - hiding behind Maryse, using the hairspray, the Spirit Squad, begging off matches - and Bryan is now less of a bully and more just trying to get Miz to play fair. And Bryan had a fair point today when he didn't pick Miz for Survivor Series and said it was because he wanted guys who would fight. And Miz doesn't really have an answer for that because he DOES duck fights (he did so just last week) and he DOES take the easy way out and there are many more guys on SD with more fight in him. So while he's being so smart and calculated and clever by acting the way he does, it has also come back to bite him in the ass because when something like this comes up, he realises that nobody has a shred of respect for him. And it's all of his own making. And there's nothing he can really do about it, because he's the Miz and the only way he can be successful is if he cheats his ass off. He wants success AND respect, but because of who he is, he can only have one or the other, not both.

Rollins chant and huge pop for him savingReigns. He might finally be getting over as a face

The fans really want a Shield reunion, it gets a pop every time they tease it. Since they want both guys to be more popular than they currently are, it's not the worst idea in the world. Plus I could see them being cute and have Roman/Seth and Dean do the DX/nWo deal and not-so-secretly acknowledge each other on "opposing" shows.

So the Pacers struggled to beat the 2016 Lakers and I turn it to Smackdown on a whim, and what do I see? Another AJ vs Dean match. That has to be, what, their 6th match in a month and a half? SD's roster is thin as fuck to begin with. Why are they just running the same match over and over? Do something wacky like AJ vs Apollo Crews or something. But I do have to lol at how god damn mean AJ is to James Ellsworth in every interaction of theirs I've seen.

Meltz's update today

The plan for right now is to do a Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns champion vs. champion program in December. Keep in mind that will change every week between now and then.

don't think Owens will be champion come Mania season. I was wondering how they were going to have Roman in the title picture again without him winning the Rumble

Surely they ought to pull the trigger on this Jericho thing then. It's the only part of the show that anyone is actually looking forward to and this title could use a hot feud after the dud that was Rollins vs Owens.

Well they just announced that AJ v Dean will main event TLC PPV in a TLC match. Announcing a main event over a month before a PPV? Love this show man

What else could the TLC main event be? There's literally nothing else for SD to headline besides AJ vs Dean.

On the one hand, all their matches have been really good...but on the other, they've been good as it was a fresh matchup at the beginning, that they are now at a risk of over saturating (a consistent issue for WWE). Have never been the biggest fan of "have a match, and if you win, you get another match with the same person" but as I say, I've really liked all of them so far, so maybe I shouldn't complain...

Also, very excited for the Becky vs. Alexa match next week, and hope it gets a decent amount of time. Both have been excellent in their roles and it's nice to have a match where there is a genuine face that the fans get behind and a devious heel that the fans are booing - makes for a dynamic you don't see that much anymore!

It being in Glasgow should give it a good atmosphere as well, although lets hope more Celtic fans in the audience rather than Rangers ones if we want Becky to still be the babyface ;)

Finally. have been impressed that the memo seems to have gone round that it's pronounced 'Glas-GO' rather than 'Glas-COW' - it's the little things sometimes!
