WWE TV 12/19 - 12/25

It was mentioned somewhere else but it really does show how completely different the logic is between RAW and Smackdown. Enzo is running around showing his dick to a married woman and insulting her like it is 1999 and he is the babyface to complete confusion. Nope on Smackdown the heel does this and it gets the reaction it should.

Given that this is the second straight feud where Rusev has been booked like this, you have to think that they're making him a face on purpose. But then again, it's WWE.

I'm inclined to also give Road Dogg (writer) and Scott Armstrong (producer/agent) a lot of credit for Smackdown's greatness. It feels like a high production version of Southeastern/Continental at times with majority of the roster being involved in an ongoing story & getting time on the mic. The masked Becky Lynch thing from last night was straight from the Alabama playbook.

205 Live was a pretty solid show too, specially that main event tag.

Heel Neville looks like a badass and carries himself much better than when he was a face. He looks like a proper star and a "final boss" in the division.

Also, credit where credit is due, Noam Dar was made to be this sort of creepy sex offender cunt. This angle is getting more reactions, which is good when you have a bunch of new guys introduced. I fear a bit for Gulak and Nese, who don't quite have flashy looks (specially Drew) and don't have a proper program yet.

It does sort of raise the question about why Noam Dar thinks that winning matches will make a woman who is not interested in him suddenly interested in him. But in a world with Enzo/Lana, that's a progressive relationship storyline.

Which is why they actually had him doing "nice" things, like looking after a hurt Alicia, carrying her to the medical room etc. He was still 100% in creepy fuck mode, but it was an interesting progression. And he got heat with the crowd, which is the desired reaction.

Yeah, there are a lot of wrestling storylines that can be made to seem ridiculous by simply describing them, but the nuances of the individual performance actually determine whether it works in the moment.

Oh yeah, I wonder why a woman not interested in a guy might suddenly become interested in him as he becomes more successful. Because that never ever happens in the real world or anything. That's caveman peacocking 101 shit. That should make sense to even young children who try to impress a girl they like by doing something dumb on the playground.

Styles as a heel champion who's recognized as the best athlete in the game. Ellsworth as the goof who alternates b/w getting in others' way as well as his own. Two bloodthirsty killers as tag champs. Miz as fashion plate heel, Dean as working class hero, Alexa as wide-eyed loon who can fight. Yes, the southeast territory vibe is real, and it runs laps around the Stamford Cabaret.
