Thanks again for doing my childhood years. Anyway the game you were talking about on NES, Wrestlemania came out January 89. I had it and yes it did suck. But for some reason everybody wanted to borrow it. The second one came out in 1990 and I loved it. I remember there was a Video Game TV show on before school started and they had tournaments of this game. Does anyone know the name of this show?

I order on Amazon allot and do it on my smart phone. How can I contribute to the cause? Is there a link or mobile code?

Great show, very interesting about Jon Studd. I remember him being a Battle Royal specialist.

Meltzer does really shit on WWF but I guess at his age it must have been like watching a kids show. Kind of like watching current WWE.

The show you're thinking of is Video Power.

For the Amazon referral we get the kickback if you use the link before you add stuff to your cart. If your phone has the app handle Amazon URLs then going to that URL to open the app should work too.

The Studd face push really is bizarre, especially considering how known of a quantity Studd should've been at that time. Definitely goes on one side of the ledger on Vince's ability to judge talent.

Did Andre still have a strong tough guy rep at this time? I've always thought it's strange that there are so many Andre the bully stories seemingly from this era, yet Andre was so beat up and immobile during this period, and working drunk. You'd think if somebody bothered to challenge him or gone back at him more in the ring or backstage, Andre likely would've gotten tuned up.

That's how I always saw it happening--Funk essentially got Piper's spot. Same "you don't deserve a title shot because you've been in Hollywood" angle, even.

I could see Roddy Piper interviewing "Rick Flare" more than seeing Roddy Piper team with the Great Muta.

They'd probably just give Bob Orton (managed by Gary Hart) to Piper instead

Interesting to hear the discussion of the people Flair didn't like.

What was his beef with Bam Bam Bigelow? I know Bigelow managed to rub quite a few people up the wrong way, but is there a specific incident with Flair?

And what about Rude? Most guys seem to have a high opinion of him. I remember Flair's dislike for him really came across in that really long shoot interview he did when he left the WWE a few years back. In that he mentioned that Rude was the only man who he got in the ring with who was "impaired". It seemed a weird thing to say and rather difficult to believe given some of the people Flair worked with over the years.

I suspect a lot of it involves this
