Hello again everybody. Welcome to Crossfire! I am Lance Russell along with my partner, Dave Brown. We are coming to you today from the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

 

Lance Russell: Well let’s get right to the video tape from the Mid-South Coliseum as it was Jerry “The King” Lawler defending his title against Austin Idol. Remember folks, Ron Fuller was banned from ringside and if any member of Fuller’s Fabulous Ones came to ringside, they would be suspended indefinitely.

 

 

 

In the video, we see that the ref is down and Lawler is set for his middle rope fist drop. He crashes down on Idol and follows it up with a piledriver. He covers Idol but there is no ref. Lawler actually makes his own 3 count hoping to alert ref Paul Morton. All of a sudden, the Dirty White Boy, who has not been in these parts for some time, rushes to the ring with a chair and gives Lawler about 5 big chair shots to his back and head. Lawler is out and Dirty White Boy drags Idol on top of Lawler just as Morton starts to stumble to his feet.

Morton raises the hand of Idol and it appears that we have a new champion. All of a sudden, ref Jerry Calhoun heads to the ring where you can see him acting out the attack by Dirty White Boy and the chair. Morton now reverses his decision and awards Lawler the match by DQ!

 

Lawer is at the interview desk where he is fuming about how Ron Fuller hired Dirty White Boy to attack him and that both Fuller and Dirty White Boy should be suspended.

 

Lance Russell: Well King, I completely agree with you but you may have bigger problems than just the Fuller Fabulous Ones. It seems your old nemesis is claiming that you might just be the least deserving World Champion in all of wrestling history. He says he is coming back to take your title and return to the AWA where the real wrestlers are and leave this pitiful organization with no title.

 

Jerry Lawler: And who might this clown by Lance.

 

Lance Russell: Well I would not call him a clown…. It is one Nick Bockwinkle!

 

All of a sudden Jerry Lawler actually appears concerned but he plays it off well claiming he beat Bockwinkle right here in Memphis on December 22, 1982 for his AWA World Title! If he wants another beating, let him come back here to Memphis and I will show him why I am the King!

ROY LEE WELCH DEFEATS ED KRANE WITH THE FULLER LEGLOCK

In a quick interview, Welch thanks Jimmy Golden for coming to his rescue in the Mid-South Coliseum as he was being attacked by Fuller’s gang and says that he will do anything to help Jimmy and Robert Fuller against Ron and the rest of the Fuller Fab One’s.

 

Lance Russell: “This Fuller thing is out of control. It’s like the Hattifield and McCoys!

TERRY TAYLOR DEFEATS DUKE MYERS WITH A CROSSFACE CHICKENWING

Terry Taylor hypes up the fact that he has been named the #1 contender for the U.S. Title.

 

All of a sudden the most obnoxious sound in all of wrestling is heard…. We Are …. The Nation… Of Domination…. As Hacksaw Butch Reed and Ernie Ladd appear. They are laughing about what Reed is going to do to Terry Taylor.

 

Ernie Ladd: Terry, do you see the size of this man. The power in this man! You think you can even bend his arm in that chickenwing of yours. You think you can hurt Butch Reed. Show him the guns Butch.

 

Reed flexes the huge biceps and thinks he is going to intimidate Taylor. Taylor just yawns in the face of Reed and this sets Hacksaw off. He winds up and throws a big right hand at Taylor who ducks and like a cat, has Reed screaming in pain in the Crossface. Ladd starts to make a move but Taylor tells him he will break Reed’s arm if he takes one more step. Officials rush out and eventually Taylor releases the hold.

 

MATCH

THE DIRTY WHITE BOY DEFEATS MIKE GRAHAM WITH THE BUCKSNORT BLASTER. (chokeslam)

After the match, Ron Fuller comes to the ring and is talking to the Dirty White Boy and the two shake hands. They go over to the interview desk where Fuller introduces the newest member og the Fuller Fabulous Ones.

 

Lance Russell: Oh come on Fuller. I might have been born at night but it wasn’t last night. Are you trying to tell me that you hadn’t already made a deal before the Dirty White Boy attacked Jerry Lawler in the Midnight Coliseum?

 

Ron Fuller: I have just signed the Dirty White Boy today and by the way, I have no idea what you are talking about with this idea that the DWB attacked Lawler. We all saw the video and Austin Idol pinned Lawler and should be the champ. This is typical Memphis nonsense were Lawler owns the town from the police to the mayor and of course to Jerry Jarrett and the referees. This is far from over!

Lance Russell announces that Terry Taylor will face Hacksaw Reed for the U.S. Title in Nashville.

 

Before the match, the Southern Boys (Scott Armstrong and Tracy Smothers) stop by the interview desk and express their disappointment that neither them or the Rock n Roll Express where able to take the U.S Tag Titles from the Midnight Express last week in Memphis and that they are sick and tired of Jim Cornette sticking his nose in where it doesn’t belong. They are excited about their rematch for the titles this week in Nashville and that they will be ready for Cornette.

 

MATCH:

THE SOUTHERN BOYS DEFEAT TOMMY GILBERT & MIDNIGHT COWBOY #1 WHEN SMOTHERS HIT GILBERT WITH A SOUTHERN KICK (SPINNING HEEEL KICK)

As soon as the match ends, Cornette leads the Midnight Express to the interview desk and they are having a great time putting down the Southern Boys and how easy it is going to be to beat them in Nashville. This brings out the Bullet, Bob Armstrong.

 

Jim Cornette: Ahhhh, did we upset Daddy! I mean this is ridiculous! When are you going to cut the cord and let your boy stand up for himself?

 

Bob Armstrong: Now that is the kettle calling the pot black. All we here is about how your mother is going to do this and how your mother is going to do that. So shut up and listen. What I have in my hand is my managerial license. This does not mean that I am done wrestling but it does mean that I am done watching the Southern Boys being cheated out of the U.S. title. I am going to legally be at ringside in Nashville and if you dare to even stand up, I am going to stick that tennis racket where it doesn’t shine and it will take all of your mothers doctors to get it out!

A wild match that ends in complete chaos. Dundee was controlling most of the action until Fuller signaled for the rest of his stable to hit the ring. Superstar’s allies were ready and we were left with Lawler, Dundee, Taylor, Robert Fuller and Golden against Landell, Rich, Idol, Dirty White Boy and Ron Fuller. We are unsure of how this one ended as we ran out of time during the wild brawl.

Hello again everybody. Welcome to Power Pro Wrestling, coming to you from Huntsville, Alabama and the Von Braun Center. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is Boyd Pierce. We have really got to sort out what has been happening here with the American Dream and the Russians. Let’s take a look at how are show ended last week.

 

VIDEO: Dusty Rhodes vs Vlad “The Russian Hammer” for the UWF TV Title.

 

Vlad is throwing haymaker after haymaker with Dusty selling each one a little less and less until the monster’s attack has no impact on the American Dream.

Jim Ross: Dusty has Vlad up for a big Texas sized piledriver and the Russian’s win streak is about to come to a painful end.

 

 

WHAM! WHAM! WHAM!

 

Jim Ross: Look out!

 

The fans, Jim Ross and Cowboy Watts are in shock. There is silence coming from the microphones and a quiet murmur of disbelief from the fans. Nikita Koloff has hit the ring and nailed Dusty Rhodes with a Russian Sickle. Nikita is so muscular, he makes Vlad look small. Dusty is laying motionless! A few seconds later, the Russian Bear, Ivan Koloff hits the ring with his big chain. He wraps the chain around the neck of Dusty and begins to choke him out.

 

 

 

 

After the video, Ivan, Nikita and Vlad Koloff (yes, Vlad is related to the Koloffs) are at the interview desk where they promise that they are going to end Dusty Rhodes wrestling career and show that Mother Russia is superior to America in every way. Ivan goes on to let everyone know that they also left Dusty and Hacksaw Duggan lying motionless in the center of the ring this week in Baton Rouge.

 

Cowboy Bill Watts comes out and if we know anything about Watts, the order of what is important in his life is God, country and family. He lets everyone know that the only reason Dusty and Hacksaw were left in the center of the ring was that Nikita saw to it to stick him nose where it doesn’t belong.

 

The Russians have a good chuckle at this but they are just the opposite when Cowboy Bill Watts yanks the UWF TV Title from Vlad and announces that due to the questionable tactics of the Russians, Vlad has been stripped of the title!

 

The crowd goes wild but to the surprise of Watts, the Russians simply shrug it off and say that they can care less about being a champion of American TV and that know they can focus on hurting Dusty Rhodes.

 

As the Russians walk off, Watts turns towards Halloween Howl and how this week’s main event is a classic as it will be the Rock n Roll Express where the winning team is entered into the $50,000 Tag Team Tournament for the UWF title!

 

MATCH

KAMALA CRUSHES MIKE CRAFT IN UNDER 1 MINUTE WITH A SERIES OF CHOPS AND SPLASHES. KRAFT WAS TAKEN OUT BY STRETCHER.

At the interview desk, Akbar says that each week someone is going to get seriously hurt by Kamala until Steve Williams grants him a North American Title shot.

 

COMMERCIAL

MATCH BRUISER BRODY & STAN HANSEN DEFEAT THE SAMOAN CONNECTION IN A WILD MATCH THAT SAW A LOT OF POWER MOVES ON BOTH SIDES!

At the interview desk, Brody and Hansen hype up the fact that they are the #1 contenders for the UWF Tag Team Titles and that the Road Warriors better be ready to lose those belts this week in New Orleans at the Lake Front Arena. Brody is like a Wildman stomping back and forth and Hansen is so excited he can barely talk with all the spit that is coming out of his mouth. When they leave, Ross thinks that this will be a classic as Hansen and Brody have the size and moves to stay with the Road Warriors. Boyd Pierce thinks that Paul Ellering will have to be on his game here if the Road Warriors are to leave with their titles!

When Brody and Hansen are done, Steve “Dr. Death” Williams comes out and demands that Cowboy Bill Watts give him a match with the Ugandan Giant and Watts informs everyone that this week in New Orleans it will be Dr. Death, Hacksaw Duggan and Dusty Rhodes vs Devastation Inc (Kamala, Konga and Haku) but that he can’t just Kamala a title shot until he is the #1 contender.

 

MATCH

SHANE DOUGLAS WITH MR. WRESTLING II DEFEATS VERLON BIGGS WITH A NASTY POWERBOMB.

After the match, Wrestling II seems angry that Douglas didn’t use the Knee Lift and orders Douglas back into the ring to complete his job. Before this goes down, Hacksaw Duggan rushed in with the 2 x 4 and clears the ring.

Paul Ellering at the Road Warriors make a quick stop at the interview desk where they are wondering if they are supposed to be afraid of Hansen and Brody. Ellering rattles down all the name of the big time teams the Road Warriors beat and now he is excited to do the same to Brody and Hansen.

THE BRUISE BROTHERS (PORKCHOP CASH & MAD DOG BOYD) DEFEAT LARRY CHEATEM & RANDEL WILLETT WITH A POWERSLAM BY BOYD

The Bruise Brothers came out with a lot of energy and charisma and with “Soul Man” as their entrance song. After some questionable tactics from Cheatem and Willet, Cash and Boyd really went wild with the rough stuff. By the end, they were clearly the fan favorites.

6 MAN UWF WORLD TITLE MATCH: The Rock n Roll Express and Ricky Gibson defeat Fuller’s Fab Ones (Austin Idol, Buddy Landell & Dirty White Boy) when Ron Fuller accidentally hit DWB with a big boot and he stumbled right into a a Triple Dropkick!

 

UWF U.S. TAG TITLE MATCH: The Southern Boys defeat the Midnight Express by DQ as Cornette got involved. This saved the titles but was a mistake as Bob Armstrong, who was managing the Southern Boys took him to the woodshed.

 

UWF U.S. TITLE MATCH: Hacksaw Butch Reed defeated Terry Taylor after a Big Boot from Ernie Ladd was followed up by a nasty spear. Of course, the ref was down when Ladd hit the Big Boot.

 

UWF WORLD TITLE MATCH: Jerry “The King” Lawler wrestled Tommy “Wildfire” Rich to a double countout as the two fought all the way to the concession stand!

Wendell Cooley defeats Midnight Cowboy #1 with the Oklahoma Stampede

 

Mike Graham defeats “Dangerous” Danny Davis with the Figure Four

 

“Crippler” Rip Oliver defeats Skip Lockwood with the Piledriver

 

Bruise Brother Porkchop Cash defeated Shane Douglas by DQ when Mr. Wrestling II hit Cash with a Million Dollar Knee Lift. Douglas and II beat Cash pretty good until fellow Bruise Brother and 350 pound Mad Dog Boyd hit the ring and threw some big haymakers on Wrestling II and Douglas.

 

HANDICAP MATCH: “The Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff crushes Tom Stone & Mike Marble with the Russian Sickle. It took less than 2 minutes to leave them both motionless.

 

UWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody ended in a double count-out as the action spilled all the way into the stands! This feud is far from over.

 

Devastation Inc. (Kamala, Haku and Konga) with Skandar Akbar defeated Dusty Rhodes, Hacksaw Duggan and Steve “Dr. Death” Williams when Williams was double teamed by Konga and Haku and then hit by a Ugandan Splash by Kamala. Dusty Rhodes was simply not a factor as he came to the ring bloody and beat to a pulp.

I really like the quick hits version. Sometimes I get lost in the text with a lot going on... I just need to spend more time on the shows.... regardless, you have got a white to promotion right now going in the right direction. I really hope things settle in and you can just hold the course. I think it will do wonders for the UWF and allow some real growth and worth to the individuals on the roster. You have some real big time names here in a very pivotal year for their development (Duggan and Williams namely... not to mention Nikita). Consistency will be the key for this group and I know you have all the tools to pay it off in a big way down the line.

We are coming to you today from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi. What a week of wrestling we had and it was all capped off in Memphis as The Wild-EyedSouthern Boys (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) defeated the Midnight Express for the United States Tag Team Titles

 

 

 

 

 

Dave Brown: That’s’ right Lance. It all backfired on Jim Cornette this week. He was about to throw his tennis racket into Beautiful Bobby Eaton but Bob Armstrong, who was managing the Southern Boys, saw this and caught Cornette with a big right hand. This allowed the racket to go astray and it was caught by Smothers who clocked Eaton as the ref was watching the action on the outside. One spinning heel kick later and we got new champs.

 

This brings out an irate Cornette who is ready to use mothers lawyers to sue everyone. He wants the incompetent ref fired for allowing the Southern Boys to use a weapon. He wants Bob Armstrong suspended for his unprovoked attack and wants Smothers fired for stealing his tennis racket! While Russell and Brown don’t buy a word of this, Cornette does begin to hype up this week’s show in Nashville as he says his team is evoking its right to a rematch at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.

 

MATCH:

DIRTY WHITE BOY WITH RON FULLER DEFEATS DIXIE DYNAMITE WITH SOME HELP FROM FULLER WITH A TRIP FOLLOWED UP BY A BUCKSNORT BLASTER

Jerry Lawler has joined Lance Russell where he is informed that Nick Bockwinkle has sent in a video response to “the King” about his so-called win over him on December 27, 1982.

 

Nick Bockwinke: How predictable! A king lying to his people and they just buy it! You claimed that you pinned me in late 1982 but you seem to be telling only ½ the story. You forgot to tell them that you paid off that local yokel ref, Jerry Calhoun. Probably one of your distant cousins as all you people from Memphis are inbreed. When you covered me that night, my foot was on the rope by the count of 2 as I was not hurt at all and figured that was the best way to conserve energy. Instead, the bribed official just keeps counting and gives you the AWA World title.

 

How do we know that I am stating the facts? Well as soon as Verne Gagne saw that tape of the match, he stripped you of that AWA title because he knew you never pinned me and I am letting you know that you never will. Just as you tried to come and steal the AWA even though you were not a part of the AWA, I am coming to Memphis and I am going to take the UWF title, for whatever it is worth to the AWA.

 

Lance Russell: Well King, what do you have to say about that.

 

Jerry Lawler: One thing Bockwinkle has always been good at it talking. He puts up a good front but he knows that he can’t beat me. He always had Verne Gagne in his back pocket and whenever he got in trouble, he had Verne bail him out. Yes, Verne stripped me of the AWA title but that was only because he knew that no one in his organization could beat me. Let Bockwinkle come down here. How about this Bockwinkle. I will give you your UWF title shot at Halloween Howl and then we will see which organization is better!

JIMMY GOLDEN & ROBERT FULLER BEAT THE MIDNIGHT COWBOYS WHEN GOLDEN CAUGHT COWBOY #1 WITH A PILEDRIVER

At the interview desk, Fuller and Golden really laid into Ron Fuller and his new group called the Fuller Fabulous Ones. Golden wants Dirty White Boy as he is giving Bucksnort, TN a bad name which is Golden’s home town. Robert warns Tommy Rich to stay out of his way if he knows what is good for him!

 

Lance Russell: Well this might be an interesting Thanksgiving in the Fuller compound!

TERRY TAYLOR DEFEATS TOMMY GILBERT BY SUBMISSION WITH A CHICKENWING

 

At the interview desk, Lance lets us know that Taylor almost beat Hacksaw Reed this week in Nashville for the United States Title.

 

Terry Taylor is upset that that Ernie Ladd had to stick his big nose in where it didn’t belong and that is what cost him the title.

 

The speakers start to blare; We Are….. The Nation….. Of Domination and Ladd and Reed are out at the interview desk and they are having a good time at Taylor’s expense.

 

Ernie Ladd: Boy, are you telling me the wresting ring is not my business. I have put more people down and have whopped more butt then you and any 10 of your friends combined have done. I own that ring and any time I want to kick you in the teeth, I will.

 

Terry Taylor: Is that so? You want to put your money, or should I say the United States Title, where your mouth is. This week, at the Mid-South Coliseum, me and you Ladd. If I win, I get another title shot with you banned from ringside and if I lose, I will give you $10,000 of my own money.

 

All of a sudden Ladd starts to say that he is retired and if it was a year earlier…..

 

Jerry Jarrett comes out and reminds Ladd that retired wrestlers don’t kick Terry Taylor in the mouth like he did in Nashville last week at ringside and because of this, I will grant Terry’s request! Taylor is clapping his hands while the Nation is furious and says that this is only because they don’t like the Nation of Domination.

 

 

MATCH:

THE BRUISE BROTHERS (PORKCHOP CASH & MAD DOG BOYD) BEAT CLIVE BARNS & CLETUS MYERS WITH A BOYD POWERSLAM ON BARNS

With their Soul Man entrance, Blues Brothers outfits and charisma, the Bruise Brothers are quickly becoming one of the more popular teams in the UWF.

 

COMMERCIAL

MATCH:

ROY LEE WELCH & MIKE GRAHAM DEFEAT THE KIWI SHEEPHERDERS BY DQ

This was a wild one with Graham doing a bit if running the ropes to get the early advantage but this one turned into a brawl just a few minutes into the match. While the action was all over the place, Ron Fuller sent in Rich, Landell and Idol to gang up on Welch.

 

While Welch was getting in pretty good, Ron Fuller was at the interview desk explaining that Welch needs to understand the Fuller hierarchy and when Welch said he would help Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden against Ron, the line in the sand was drawn and now Welch will have to pay!

 

The cavalry of Golden, Robert Fuller and Bob Armstrong rushed into make the save. Before the show ends, we find out that there will be a Fuller Street Fight this week in Memphis where it will be Robert Fuller, Jimmy Golden and Roy Lee Welch against Rich, Idol and Dirty White Boy!

SUPERSTAR BILL DUNDEE BEATS BUDDY LANDELL WITH RON FULLER BY DQ AS FULLER HIT DUNDEE WITH A CHAIR!

Fuller was in rare form tonight and it just carried over to this match. The chair shot on Dundee got the ire of Jerry Lawler and the show ends with Dundee and Lawler brawling with Fuller and Landell. The rest of Fuller’s goon squad hits the ring and the Golden, Welch and Robert Fuller hit the ring. As the show ends, there is pure chaos all over the arena.

Hello again everybody. Welcome to Power Pro Wrestling, coming to you from Biloxi, Mississippi and the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is Boyd Pierce. We have some really disturbing video to show you as we get the show under way.

 

VIDEO: Dusty Rhodes being brutally beaten in the parking lot after a sneak attack by Nikita Koloff.

 

Ross explains that this happened last week in New Orleans. As Ross continues, Rhodes is such a competitor that even after that beating, Rhodes was able to wrestle that night in the Lake Front Arena in a 6 Man Tag Match against Devastation Inc.

 

Dusty Rhodes and Hacksaw Duggan come out to say the Koloffs will pay for their attack and they hope it happens at Halloween Howl as both Rhodes and Duggan and Nikita and Uncle Ivan are entered into the $50,000 tag team tournament!

 

Boyd Pierce informs us that we will be seeing The American Dream and Hacksaw a bit later in the show but now it is time to get to the ring for our first match!

KAMALA BEATS JOHN MANUS IN UNDER 1 MINUTE WITH A SERIES OF CHOPS & SPLASHES. ONCE AGAIN, KAMALA FORCES SOMEONEONE TO LEAVE ON A STRETCHER.

At the interview desk, Akbar says that Williams felt that power of Kamala as he was left motionless in the center of the ring last week. Akbar also goes on to let us know that Dr. Death agreeing to meet Kamala in a 6 Man Tag Match is not enough to stop the wave of destruction by Kamala here in the UWF. Akbar reminds everyone that each week someone is going to get seriously hurt by Kamala until Steve Williams grants him a North American Title shot.

 

Dr. Death comes out and is unfazed by the Ugandan Giant. In fact, he is furious at Devastation Inc for using him as an excuse to injure people. He goes on to explain that he just finished meeting with Cowboy Bill Watts and the North American Title match between him and Kamala has been signed for Halloween Howl in the Louisiana Superdome and that Kamala is the one who is going to be leaving on a stretcher. Williams goes on to explain that by forcing your opponent to be carried from the ring on a stretcher is the only way to win the match.

 

Kamala starts beating his belly and shaking his head and is about ready to attack. Friday really has to work his magic here to keep the calm.

THE ROAD WARRIORS DEFEAT OLIN BROWN & VERLON BIGGS WITH A DOOMSDAY DEVICE ON BIGGS

At the interview desk, Ross explains that the Road Warriors had a wild match with Brody and Hansen this past week in New Orleans which ended in a double countout as the two teams were wildly fighting all over the place. Ross lets us know that the two teams will square off again this week in Birmingham at the Boutwell Auditorium and the winner will enter Halloween Howl as the #1 seeded team and the UWF World Tag Team Champions!

 

Ellering does most of the talking but again he just oozes confidence that his tram is the best tag team in the world!

The match has about 5 minutes of back and forth before Rhodes and Duggan take control. Duggan is giving it pretty good to Douglas when the camera catches Mr. Wrestling II loading up that knee brace. Just as Douglas makes the tag and II comes in and crushes Hacksaw with the loaded Million Dollar Knee lift we hear Jim Ross:

 

“By Gawd it’s the devils and there are three of them and they are from Russia! Ivan is leading Nikita and Vlad to the ring and they are just beating Dusty from pillar to post. And don’t forget what Douglas and Wrestling II are doing to Hacksaw in the ring!

 

The show ends with Dusty and Hacksaw under attack and the fans in horror!

Fuller Street Fight: Tommy Rich, Austin Idol and The Dirty White Boy with Ron Fuller defeated Robert Fuller, Roy Lee Welch and Jimmy Golden when the Dirty White Boy followed up Tommy Rich’s brass knuckles shot on Roy Lee Welch with a Bucksnort Blaster.

 

Terry Taylor defeated Ernie Ladd as he ducked under a Big Boot and caught Ladd in the chicken wing! Taylor now earns another U.S. title shot. Reed did hit the ring and went after Taylor but Taylor caught him in the same move!

 

UWF UNITED STATES TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Southern Boys (Scott Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) defeated the Midnight Express by DQ as Eaton struck again and nailed Scott Armstrong with a fireball! The Express are lucky they got out of there in the nick of time before “the Bullet” Bob Armstrong got a hold of them.

 

UWF WORLD TITLE MATCH: Jerry “The King” Lawler defeats Nature Boy Buddy Landell with a piledriver. As soon as the ref made the 3 count, Ron Fuller clobbered Lawler with a chair and left him laying in the center of the ring as the show ended.

 

 

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA: BOUTWELL AUDITORIUM

 

Crippler Rip Oliver defeated Dixie Dynamite with a piledriver.

 

Wendell Cooley defeated Tommy Gilbert with a Superkick.

 

Bob Armstrong defeated Jonathan Boyd with a Georgia Jawbreaker

 

The Faces of Fear with Skandar Akbar defeated the Midnight Cowboys as Konga hit a diving headbutt on Cowboy #2 as Haku had a Tongan Death Grip on #1 on the outside of the ring. It seems like the Faces of Fear will not go quietly from the tag team title discussions!

 

Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeats Shane Douglas with a Spear when he was actually going for Mr. Wrestling II who was interfering in the match. Wrestling II stepped out of the way at the last second but it connected on Douglas.

 

The Road Warriors vs Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody ended in a 30 minute draw. All 4 of these wrestlers gave a beating and took a beating here. Looks like these teams will enter Halloween Howl as seeds 1 and 1A.

 

Dusty Rhodes defeated Ivan Koloff as Nikita hit the ring and nailed Rhodes with a Russian Sickle. It is becoming common place to see Nikita standing over Dusty who is flat on his back.

At the interview desk, Duggan and Rhodes are showed a taped interview with Ivan and Nikita Koloff where Ivan wonders how stupid Americans are. In less than a month, Nikita has left the American Dream laying in the center of the ring many times yet Dusty keeps coming back for more! Stupid American….. you can’t beat the Russian Nightmare no matter how much you Dream!

 

Both Dusty and Hacksaw respond with that is exactly what makes America great. We will never give up. We are blue collar all the way. Hello again everybody. Welcome to Crossfire! I am Lance Russell along with my partner, Dave Brown. We are coming to you today from the McKenzie Arena on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Well, I known that we should not be shocked but Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express are at it again. We are about to show you a video from last week’s United States Tag Team Title match with the Southern Boys. (Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers) We do want to warn you, that this video is extremely upsetting and we understand if you wish to turn away for a moment.

 

VIDEO: Beautiful Bobby Eaton throwing a fireball into the face of Steve Armstrong and he is rolling around on the ground in crazy pain as the ref is wildly calling for the bell.

 

When the video is over Jerry Jarrett is at the interview desk saying that he is once again disgusted by the actions of Cornette and the Midnight Express. He is discussing the idea to suspend them when Cornett comes flying out threatening all types of lawsuits from Mother’ lawyers. Jarrett seems that he could care less.

 

All of a sudden, the crowd explodes as Bob Armstrong comes out and Cornett begins to cower behind Jarrett. Bob is really upset and explains that Steve will be out of action for a few weeks and therefore the United States Champions will not be able to participate in Halloween Howl. To the shock of everyone, Armstrong asks that if Jarett could rethink the suspension. Jarrett seems confused until Bob says that it was his family that was wronged and he would like the chance to get revenge….. tonight! He wants the Midnight Express in the ring tonight against him a mystery partner while Cornette is handcuffed to Tracy Smothers. Jarrett accepts and Lance Russell really hypes up our impromptu main event.

 

 

MATCH:

TOMMY RICH & AUSTIN IDOL WITH RON FULLER DEFEATS JIMMY FUNK SMITH & TOM PAGANO

At the interview desk, Ron Fuller is excited for Halloween Howl and the $50,000 Rich and Idol are about to win; not to mention the World Tag Titles. All of a sudden, Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden come out and the tension rises. Robert Fuller and Golden let everyone know that the Family Feud is on as they are going to face the Fuller Fab Ones in the first round and he can’t wait to send his brother home a loser.

 

Rich and Idol step towards Fuller and Golden but Ron tells them to wait to Halloween. Robert and Golden step to the crowd making chicken noises.

 

WHAM!

 

Rich, Idol and Ron Fuller attack and the beating is on. It is clear that the Fuller Fab Ones know that if Robert and Jimmy don’t make it to Halloween, they will have an easier road to the money. They only thing that stopped this attack was a commercial break.

Jerry Lawler has joined Lance Russell where he is informed that Nick Bockwinkle has accepted his invitation for a UWF World title shot at Halloween Howl!

 

Jerry Lawler: If Bockwinkle thinks he is coming here and taking the UWF title home with him, he is completely out of his mind! Hey, I might just be on to something. Nick Bockwinkle is mindless and that just might be okay as he might not feel the pain I am going to inflict on that arrogant pompous ass at Halloween Howl! I beat him for the title in 1982 and I am going to beat him again.

 

Lance Russell: I understand King why you are upset but please remember this is a family show and watch your language.

TERRY TAYLOR DEFEATS “DANGEROUS” DANNY DAVIS IN UNDER 2 MOINUTES WITH THE CHICKENWING

While the match was going on Ernie Ladd and Hacksaw Butch Reed were at the interview desk scrutinizing every move and explaining why Terry Taylor can’t beat Hacksaw Reed for the Ubited States title at Halloween Howl!

 

Ernie Ladd: Look at him! Terry Taylor is nothing but a pretty boy. He is just a piece of candy for the ladies to eye ball. Well after Halloween Howl, Taylor will look like he just won scariest mask at the costume party. Hacksaw Butch Reed is a natural! The Natural! Terry Taylor you are about to run into a natural disaster.

 

As soon as the match ends, Taylor comes to the desk but wrestlers and refs poor out from the back to keep everyone apart!

DIXIE DYNAMITE DEFEATS TOMMY GILBERT WITH A SUPERKICK FOR HIS FIRST WIN HERE ON CROSSFIRE

At the interview desk, the Dirty White Boy spends all his time making everyone know that he is the baddest dude ever to come from Bucksnort, Tennessee and Jimmy Golden better watch out if he gets his hands on him.

 

 

MATCH:

THE BRUISE BROTHERS (PORKCHOP CASH & MAD DOG BOYD) & THE KIWI SHEEPHERDERS WRESTLE TO A 10 MINUTE DRAW.

This match was a brawl from beginning to end and that was fine with everyone involved. None of them are very technically sound but enjoy the rough stuff. Even though they did not get the win, this did a lot to raise the status of the popular Bruise Brothers.

THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS VS BOB ARMSTRONG & A MYSTERY PARTNER

(JIM CORNETTE IS HANDICUTFFED TO TRACY SMOTHERS)

The Midnight Express come out to their typical techno music but it is obvious they are distracted. They know Cornette will not be there to help them and they have no clue who Armstrong’s partner will be. As they come to the ring, we see that the mystery guest is wearing a mask and is introduced as Mr. R.

 

As for the match, it deteriorates right away. As Cornette is being handcuffed to Smothers, Bobby Eaton comes off the top rope all the way to the floor for an Alabama Jammer on Smothers. This leads to all 4 real competitors in this match fighting all over the arena. What was most memorable here in this match that was declared a no contest was when the camera caught Mr. R squared off with Eaton.

 

Mr. R ducked under a right hand and then laid Eaton out in one punch. Mr. R then continued to stomp on Eaton as Lance Russell say, “As far as I am concerned Dave, the Midnight Express deserve everything they are getting right now.

 

Lance Russell: Well, I wonder who this Mr. R is but he certainly has it out for the Midnight Express. Don’t forget to join us in the Superdome on Halloween Night. So long from Chattanooga.

What a night we have for you as there will be a $50,000 World Tag Team Title Tournament where the winner not only gets the money, they also walk out as UWF World Tag Team Champion!

Lance Russell: And that’s not all folks. It will be Shane Douglas vs Wendell Cooley in a Louisiana Street fight. Steve “Dr. Death” Williams will be defending the United States Championship against “the Ugandan Giant, Kamala. Hacksaw Butch Reed will be putting his North American championship on the line against Terry Taylor and let’s not forget the big one…. UWF VS AWA as Jerry “the King” Lawler puts his title on the line against his old nemesis, Nick Bockwinkle

 

ROUND 1: TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT

The Rock n Roll Express vs Fuller’s Fab Ones (Tommy Rich & Austin Idol) with Ron Fuller

A typical Rock n Roll Express match here where they get off to a quick start and then Morton gets caught in the wrong corner followed by a daring escape to tag in Gibson and then the match goes wild. Fuller saw that his team was in trouble and got up on the apron. To the delight of the fans, he was double drop kicked to the floor. The distraction allowed Tommy Rich to scoop up Morton for a body slam but Morton wiggled free and went for a roll up for the pin where he got the 3 count.

The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette vs Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody

Brody and Hansen dominate for the first 5 minutes but a Cornette distraction allowed for a nasty low blow by Condrey on Hansen. Brody rushed the ring but was forced out by the ref. This gave Cornette time for a tennis racket shot on Bruiser. Condrey tagged in Eaton for the Alabama Jamma for the win. The fans seemed upset at Cornette’s shenanigans but they were also disappointed that we did not get to the third go around between Brody and Hansen vs the Road Warriors!

The Road Warriors with Paul Ellering vs Tennessee Stud Stable (Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden)

Not that this was completely one sided but it always seemed like the Road Warriors were going to come out on top. The end came when the Warriors hit a Doomsday Device on Jimmy Golden.

Ivan & Nikita Koloff vs Dusty Rhodes & Hacksaw Jim Duggan

Not sure if this was a wrestling match or a war of good versus evil. Russia vs the United States always sells but add the Koloffs against the patriotic team of Dusty and Duggan and we got everyone on the edge of their seats. This doesn’t resemble wrestling at all as it is a street fight from the opening bell. Nikita is a beast and Ivan is the experienced veteran who knows his way around the ring. It seemed like Dusty and Duggan were going to fall as Dusty did a great job a playing the face in peril. He does make the tag to Duggan who comes in like a house afire but Nikita no sells blow after blow! Jim Ross is in shock here and wonders if this man is truly human. Dusty recovers enough and hits Nikita with a Bionic Elbow!

Nothing!

The only thing that stopped Nikita is that he went absolutely nuts.

Russian Sickle on Duggan and he is down! Russian Sickle on Rhodes and he is down! The ref is trying to get control of the match!

Nikita has the Russian Chain and is beating Rhodes! Beating Duggan!

Other officials rush to ring side and call for the bell! The Russians are DQ but it just might be the most dominate in-ring performance by one man in UWF history!

 

Jim Ross and Lance Russell wonder if anyone is safe!

UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH

Hacksaw Butch Reed with Ernie Ladd vs Terry Taylor

We get a good back and forth here for about 10 minutes or so until Hacksaw went for a spear and missed but hit the steel ring post. As Hacksaw stumbled back he was caught in the Chicken Wing! Reed somehow back-peddled into the ropes and forced the break saving his title. With Reed’s arm damaged, Taylor went to work until Reed grabbed him by the tights and tossed him to the floor. As the ref admonished Reed, Ladd went to work with a Big Boot! Ladd tossed Taylor back into the ring where this time Reed didn’t miss the spear and gained the victory.

 

Lance Russell: Enough is enough. The Nation of Domination is dominating due to a numbers game. Ladd must be stopped! Terry Taylor had this match won but leaves a loser because of one of the dirtiest players in the game!

TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT: SEMI-FINALS

The Rock n Roll Express vs The Midnight Express

As you would expect the first 15 minutes are predictable. From the heat brought by Cornette’s entrance to how over the Rock n Roll Express were with the first chord of Rock n Roll All Night was heard from the speakers. Some great chain wrestling and running of the ropes gives the RnR Express the early advantage followed by some questionable tactics put Ricky Morton in peril. Morton gets back on equal ground as whips Eaton into the ropes. As Eaton comes off the ropes, it looks like he was going to crash into ref Pee Wee Anderson who actually leap frogged Eaton.

 

WHAM! A big drop kick by Morton and a tag to Gibson who comes in like a house afire. Cornette is screaming how Pee Wee Anderson is on the take and is helping the Rock n Roll Express. Things are bonzo gonzo now as all 4 are in the ring. Condrey and Morton are in the corner and Anderson is trying to get them out of the ring as they are not the legal wrestlers. Cornette sees this as his chance. Eaton grabs Gibson and here comes the tennis racket shot!

 

WHAM! Gibson escapes at the last second and Cornette crushes his own man.

 

WHAM! Gibson punches Cornette! Gibson grabs the racket and clocks Eaton again for good measure and goes for the cover. Pee Wee Anderson turns just at the right moment and the Rock n Roll Express move on to the finals!

The Road Warriors vs Dusty Rhodes & Hacksaw Jim Duggan

While this should be a main event anywhere in the country, the damage done by the Koloffs is just too much to overcome. The Road Warriors are tough enough when you are at full strength but here they were just unstoppable. Rhodes and Duggan gave it their all but the end came after Rhodes was laid out on the outside and Duggan was crushed with a Doomsday Device. Lance Russell and Jim Ross really hype up the Road Warriors/ Rock n Roll Express final as they feel these are the two greatest teams in all of wrestling.

NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH

Steve “Dr. Death” Williams vs Kamala with Skandar Akbar

Kamala has been unstoppable in the UWF since he first arrived and as this match begins, it appears that it will be no different. After numerous chops, savat kicks and nerve holds, the Ugandan Giant went for the Big Splash but Dr. Death rolled away at the last second. As both struggled to their feet, Akbar was up on the apron only to be caught by Dr. Death with a huge right hand. Akbar feel to the floor and Williams turned as saw Kamala staggering on the ropes!

WHAM!

Jim Ross: Oh baw gawd! The carnage. Dr. Death has just speared Kamala through the middle rope and out onto the cement floor. Neither men seem to be moving.

 

As the ref competes the double countout, both men are on their feet and the brawl is on. It continues all the way back to the concession stand as the locker room empties to get this two men apart.

 

Lance Russell: Wow! That was something and I guarantee you that neither man is satisfied with this decision!

TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT FINALS

The Road Warriors vs The Rock n Roll Express

As Bill Apter will write later this month, this match has the lead for tag team match of the year. It is speed and trickery versus pure power! After each huge power move, it is like the Rock n Roll Express are just trying to survive then and then they get a little momentum before they are crushed again. Those few times when the Rock n Roll Express do get control of the match, you see the respect that both Animal and Hawk have for them as they are really selling each and every move by Gibson and Morton. The end is a finish that they will be talking about for a long time. Animal has Morton up and is waiting for Hawk to dive off the top rope with the Doomsday Device. Somehow Morton bends backwards so he is basically below Animal’s shoulders while Animal still has his legs hooked.

 

Wham! Gibson rushed into the ring and actually dropkicked Hawk out of midair and with the speed Hawk was flying, it looked like Hawk’s head should fall off.

 

Wham! Double dropkick on a stunned Animal to make sure he doesn’t make the save and the cover by Morton on Hawk!

UWF WORLD TITLE MATCH:

Jerry “The King” Lawler vs Nick Bockwinkle

With the entire fate of the UWF in Jerry Lawler’s hands, the fans in the Superdome are on the edge of their seats. If Lawler loses and Bockwinkle takes the World title back to the AWA, it would be devastating to the young company. This match is unpredictable as both men are very similar. They know every trick in the book while being very solid technical wrestlers and tremendous brawlers. This match has some of everything. From submission holds like sleepers and abdominal stretches to the time when the action seems almost high school wrestling match with its arm bars and leg locks. Both try some questionable tactics like an eye gouge here and a grab of the trunks there but nothing gives for either man for about 25 minutes of this 30 minute ego match.

 

 

Eye gouge by Bockwinke!

Bockwinke gets Lawler in a headlock and runs his face along the top of rope for 20 feet or so burning Lawler’s face on the way.

5 Straight punches by Bockwinkle followed by two head slams into the turnbuckle.

 

Lawler no sells the last one and pulls the strap on the singlet down. Lawler is now throwing lefts and rights faster than Muhammed Ali. Ref Jerry Calhoun tries to get Lawler off Bockwinkle but Lawler shoves him. Again, Calhoun tries to break the two apart but Lawler shoves him again!

 

WHAM! Bockwinkle throws a big haymaker at Lawler but Lawler ducked and Calhoun got nailed. Lawler hits Bockwinkle with another right hand. Bockwinkle is down until Lawler grabs him by the hair.

Piledriver by Lawler. Lawler to the middle rope. Fist Drop! Bockwinkle is out of it.

 

Lawler covers Bockwinkle but there is no ref. Lawler starts to count.

Ring Announcer: Your winner due to disqualification caused by Lawler shoving the ref is Nick Bockwinkle.

 

The fans gasp but Lawler simply raises his belt above his head as he knows he is still the champ

Hello again everybody. Welcome to UWF Wrestling, coming to you from the Barton Coliseum in Little Rock, Arkansas. I am Jim Ross and my partner is Cowboy Bill Watts. We will be coming to you for an hour of non-stop action but before we get to the ring we have got to go to the video tape from Halloween Howl in the Superdome. Cowboy Watt’s, it is true that sometimes David really does beat Golitalith.

 

The video shows the Rock n Roll Express winning the UWF World Tag Team titles with one of the most amazing finishes ever. When the video tape is over Morton and Gibson are at the interview desk and it is hard to believe that anyone could be more over then they were right now. The fans are going wild as the RnR Express thanks them for their support and that they look forward to defending their titles against all comers. All of a sudden, Paul Ellering comes out and he is as serious as a funeral and does say that the RnR Express did win the match cleanly but now they have angered the beasts that are the Road Warriors. We also found out that the Express will be defending their titles against the Road Warriors in two weeks right back in the city they won the belts in, New Orleans. Paul Ellering asks the Express to stay out and just watch the devastation that is about to occur.

THE ROAD WARRIORS NEARLY KILL THE MIDNIGHT COWBOYS

The Express were impressed but told Jim Ross they are never going to back down and it was their hard work that gave these belts in the first place. They promised to give it their all and asks all fans to come out and support them. This only seemed to endear them more to the audience.

STEVE “DR. DEATH” WILLIAMS DEFEATS GEORGE RIDDELL WITH A SPEAR

As soon as the match was over, Akbar led the entire Devastation Inc. out to attack Williams. Williams gave it his all and a got a few good shots in on Kamala, Haku and Meng but the numbers game got the best of him. Dr. Death took it pretty good until the cavalry of Hacksaw Duggan and Dusty Rhodes made the save.

 

Dusty Rhodes: Ooooooohhhh Baaaaaby! The evil is all around us. Akbar, Kaaaamaaaala, the Russians. Naakita! Ivan and yes even you too Mr. Wrastlin II. But guess what. We are making our own brotherhood. We got each other’s backs. Good is going to survive! America is going to come out on top!

The Rock n Roll Express quickly rush out as Robert Gibson makes sure nothing else is done to his injured brother as Ivan, Nikita and Vlad Koloff make their way to the interview area.

Ivan Koloff: Dusty Rhodes. You got a big mouth and a lot of guts but you are not very smart. Every time you open your mouth, Nikita has shut it for you! I have an idea for you. You talk about America dis and dat and how superior your country is to Russia. Well this week in Jackson, Mississippi, how about you get two more of your dumb Americans and you face the Koloffs in a flag match! Basically, as you Americans call it; we will play capture the flag. Winning team captures the others flag.

 

Dusty Rhodes does not hesitate and comes right out to accept the challenge and he says he can think of two more Americans ready to shut you Russians up and they are in the ring right now helping an injured brother. The Rock n Roll Express nod to Dusty and the match is set as the World Tag Team Champions will be Dusty’s partners.

Cowboy Bill Watts comes out and is sick and tired about how Mr. Wrestling II and Shane Douglas think that it is ok to just do whatever they want and that every time one is involved in a match, it seems the other is involved. Watts let’s Mr. Wrestling II know that he has a match this week in Jackson, Mississippi against a newcomer to the UWF…. One Big Daddy Ritter and if Shane Douglas gets involved, he will be suspended indefinitely.

 

Mr. Wrestling II does seem to care as he can’t wait to beat up on another of Watt’s young whippersnappers!

Let’s get started by bringing out Jerry Jarrett as he has a special announcement for all you wrestling fans in the Memphis area.

 

Jerry Jarrett: That’s right Lance. This year Thanksgiving Thunder will take place at the Mid-South Coliseum and while all of the matches have yet to be set, I can guarantee you that there will be 5 major title bouts including a World Championship match up!

 

Lance Russell: That’s great news Jerry and now let’s bring in the World Champion, Jerry “the King” Lawler who is fuming after being disqualified in his match in the Superdome against Nick Bockwinkle.

 

The segment starts with a taped interview from Halloween Howl with Nick Bockwinkle.

 

Nick Bockwinkle: I told Lawler. I told all of you. Take your King out of Memphis and he is nothing! The only place that you win in is Memphis because you have paid everyone off. Halloween Howl saw you stoop to such disgusting tactics that you were disqualified. I mean how low can you get. To be disqualified just to save your belt because you know you couldn’t beat me. Well trust me Lawler when I tell you I will be back for that UWF belt.

 

Jerry Lawler is at the interview desk where he responds.

 

Jerry Lawler: Nick Bockwinkle knows that I beat him from pillar to post and everybody knows when I pulled the strap and hit the fist drop and follow it up with a Royal Pildriver, the King was coming out on top. It is too bad that the ref disqualified me but after that match, the people of New Orleans know that I am the King. If Bockwinkle wants another shot, come on down to any UWF city and I will put your lights out!

 

All of a sudden out comes Tommy Wildfire Rich where he lets Lawler know that he might be the King of Memphis but that he is the Stud of all of Tennessee and come this Monday night in the Mid-South Coliseum, he is going to once again be the World Champ.

 

Jerry Lawler: I think some of that peroxide in your hair has seeped into your brain. I mean how many times am I going to have to beat you like the dog that you are before

 

Tommy Rich: Stop right there Lawler. I will give you that we have had some humdingers of brawls but I have gotten the best of you and this Monday will be no different. In fact, we might as well start by taking that stupid crown of your right now.

 

Jerry Lawler: You and want army!

The entire Fuller Fab Ones (Ron Fuller, Idol, Landell and the DWB) hit the King and go onto the attack until the cavalry of Terry Taylor, Bill Dundee, Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden come to the rescue but it looks too late as the King is busted open.

THE SOUTHERN BOYS (STEVE ARMSTRONG & TRACY SMOTHERS DEFEATS LEO SEITZ & TONY CARROLLA

This was the United States Tag Champs first match in a few weeks as Steve Armstrong had been recovering from the burn he received at the hands of the fireball thrown by the Midnight Express. Steve Armstrong is real “fired up” about how his going to get even with Cornette and his boys this week at the Mid-South Coliseum.

 

Steve Armstrong: Cornette! Midnight Express! There is a fine line between trying to win a match and trying to hurt a man and ya’ll have crossed it. When you hit me with that fireball you didn’t care if I went blind. This week in Memphis, Tracy and myself won’t care about how bad we beat you but one thing you can count on is that when we leave we are leaving with our belts!

 

Tracy Smothers: Jim Cornette we have heard enough about your mother’s lawyers. We are just a couple of good old boys from the South and we don’t need no lawyers. When we got a problem, we settle it like men and trust you me brother, if you dare to stick your nose in our match again, we got something special waiting for you.

Before our next match, Jerry Lawler joins us and is fuming about the attack by the Fuller Fab Ones and he has just got Jerry Jarrett to okay a match will Ron Fuller tonight! Lance Russell also informs us that on that card at the Mid-South Coliseum will be Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden against Buddy Landell and the Dirty White Boy and Terry Taylor will face off with Austin Idol!

 

All of a sudden Ron Fuller appears and Lance Russell seems very concerned that there will be a replay of the first segment’s brawl.

 

Ron Fuller: I am not sure what you and Jarrett are thinking but I am a manager right now and not really spending much time in the ring! That is not because I can’t whoop all those boys back there in the locker room but because you people don’t deserve to see me. I am 6’9, 265 of the prettiest thing you have ever seen on TV! Ever! I am the youngest Georgia Heavyweight Champion, the youngest Florida heavyweight champion, the youngest Southern heavyweight champion, the youngest Southeastern Heavyweight Champion and now your next UWF World Champion except that it will not be in front of these Arkansas pig farmers here in Little Rock. If you want me in the ring vs Lawler, it is going to be in my home state of Tennessee where the women have seen me already and won’t pass out from my beauty. I will not be responsible for a complete overcrowding of the area hospitals.

 

Jerry Lawler: Lance have you ever heard such a crock in your life. He is just a plain old 6’9, 265 pounds of chicken!

 

All of a sudden Jerry Jarrett comes out and tells Fuller that he either gets in the ring tonight or he gets suspended for 90 days!

 

Fuller is steaming but it seems like we have a title match tonight!

SUPERSTAR DUNDEE BEATS SHANE DOUGLAS AS MR. WRESTLING II TRIED TO INTERFER BUT IT BACKFIRED AND DUNDEE HIT A PILEDRIVE

At the interview desk, Lance congratulations Dundee and then hypes up his United States title match this week in Memphis against Hacksaw Reed and wonders what Dundee can do against the freak of nature, Butch Reed.

 

Bill Dundee: Well listen Lance. Did you see the Rock n Roll Express beat the Road Warriors in the Superdome. It is not always the size but the amount of fight you got and I got ….

 

WE ARE…. THE NATION…. OF DOMINATION starts to blare over the speakers and Reed and Ladd come out and are having a great time at the expense of Dundee’s diminutive size.

 

Lance Russell: ok guys, that will be enough of that! There is no place for that behavior hear.

 

All of a sudden the crowd pops as Hacksaw Duggan who has unfinished business with the Nation comes out and while peace prevails here, we find out that Duggan will be at ringside to make sure that Ladd can’t cause any trouble in the Coliseum.

AUSTIN IDLO DEFEATS THE SAMOAN FARMER BOY IPO WITH THE VEGAS LEGLOCK

Lance wonders where Fuller was for Idol’s match but Idol informs us that Fuller is getting ready to become the World Champion and how great it is that the Fuller Fab One’s have 2 shots at the World Title with Fuller tonight and if for some reason, the ref cheats the TN Stud out of the belt, the other TN Stud, Tommy Rich will get the work done on Monday.

 

Lance says speaking of Monday Idol, you have Terry Taylor in a submission match. The Crossface Chickenwing vs the Vegas Leg Lock.

 

Idol laughs at the idea of the chickenwing causing him any problems as he flexes his big guns and lets us know that he could never even get the Chicken wing on him. l will enjoy hearing Taylor’s leg snap with the Vegas Leg Lock.

JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER VS “THE TENNESSEE STUD” RON FULLER

The match starts just as you would expect with Lawler outbrawling Fuller then Fuller gaining some momentum after some questionable tactics. Lawler seems on the brink of disaster as Fuller gets the Fuller Leg Lock clamped on but somehow Lawler refuses to submit and reaches the ropes. Lawler begins to no sell the Fuller attack and the strap is down and he goes wild throwing haymakers like only Lawler can. He climbs the ropes for the fist drop and…..

 

Here we go again, the rest of the Fuller Fab Ones hit the ring with Lawler;s entourage not far behind and the show ends just as it started with a wild brawl but this time Lawler is clearing the ring as he seems ready for Tommy Rich this Monday in the Mid-South Coliseum.

MAJOR UWF SHOWS FOR THE WEEK OF 11/2

 

MEMPHIS, TN- MID-SOUTH COLISEUM

 

The Bruise Brothers (Mad Dog Boyd & Porkchop Cash) defeated the Midnight Cowboys (Kerry Brown & Duke Myers) after Cash followed up a series of headbutts on Cowboy #2 with a jumping knee smash to the jaw.

 

Roy Lee Welch defeated “Dirty” Dan Denton with the Fuller Leg Lock.

 

Crippler Rip Oliver defeated Tommy Gilbert with a piledriver. As Rip was walking up the aisle, Skandar Akbar came out and congratulated him.

 

Buddy Landell & The Dirty White Boy vs Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden ended in a No Contest as Golden attacked the DWB before he even made it to the ring. The two teams brawled all over the arena but in the end Golden seemed to come out on top of his home town rival, the DWB as he delivered a Bucksnort Breaker (Hangman’s Neckbreaker) on the arena floor.

 

UWF US TITLE MATCH: Hacksaw Butch Reed defeated Superstar Dundee with a Spear after Dundee was assaulted by Ernie Ladd on the outside.

 

SUBMISSION MATCH: VEGAS LEG LOCK VS THE CROSSFACE CHICKENWING: Terry Taylor defeated Austin Idol as the ref was knocked down and Ron Fuller tried to weakened Taylor’s knees with a steel pipe but missed and hit Austin Idol by accident. Taylor quickly applied the Chicken wing for the win.

 

UWF UNITED STATES TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Midnight Express regained the titles after Bobby Eaton laid a chair to the face area of Steve Armstrong and then connected with an Alabama Jammer. This was possible as the ref was distracted by Loverboy Dennis Condrey who tried to come in the ring without a tag. Cornette at the same time was hanging on the leg of Tracy Smothers to make sure he could not make the save.

 

UWF WORLD TITLE MATCH: NO DQ: STREET FIGHT: Jerry “The King” Lawler defeats Tommy Rich after a wild and bloody affair that could have gone either way. In the end Lawler used Rich’s own boot as a weapon.

 

 

JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI: MISSISSIPPI COLISEUM

 

Farmer Boy Ipo defeated Bart Alexander with a Samoan Drop

 

The Faces of Fear with Skandar Akbar defeat Wendell Cooley & Mike Graham after Cooley was knocked through the ropes by a diving top rope clothesline by Konga. With Cooley out of action, they went to work on Graham and the end came by submission as Haku locked in the Tongan Death Grip.

 

Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated Shane Douglas with a spear despite every effort by Mr. Wrestling II prevent it.

 

The Road Warriors defeat Mark Youngblood & Jerry Ha in a complete beat down that finally ended with a Doomsday Device on Ha.

 

Big Daddy Ritter defeated Mr. Wrestling in less than 3 minutes with a Big Thump! That’s right folks; Big Daddy Ritter was none other than JYD who came out to the biggest ovation Jackson has every seen. It looks like Wrestling II failed at putting the Dog out of Wrestling.

 

UWF NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH: Steve “Dr. Death” Williams defeated Kamala with a spear. Akbar had tripped up Dr. Death and Kamala actually hit a giant splash but then all hell broke loose as Cowboy Bill Watts came down and physically went after Akbar and whooped him pretty good. This distracted the ref and allowed Dr. Death to recover. Watts now played cheerleader and really hyped up Williams who actually was able to hit an Oklahoma Stampede on the Ugandan Giant.

 

FLAG MATCH: The Koloffs (Ivan, Nikita & Vlad) defeat the American Dream & the Rock n Roll Express as Ivan and Vlad fought the RnR Express on the outside of the ring and Nikita basically refused to sell a Bionic Elbow and then nearly decapitated The American Dream with a Russian Sickle. Nikita basically grabbed the American Flag and then stomped all over it before grabbing the Russian Flag and waving it like he just won WW III! The crowd in Jackson almost rioted as the Koloffs had to dodge debris on their way back to the locker room!
