Tony Schiavone & David Crockett welcome us to WTBS. This week we have another MACW debut, with The Midnight Express from Lutte Internationale coming in for tag team action. 24 Karat are here in 8-man tag team action! A number of champions will be in action, we don’t wait any longer and head to the ring.

NWA United States Tag Team Champions The Foreign Legion {Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff} (w/ Paul Jones) defeated The Young Stallions (Jim Powers & Paul Roma in 4:02 after Sheik made Powers submit to the Camel Clutch.

COMMERCIAL BREAK 1

We return to David Crockett standing next to the new NWA Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Champion “The Ragin’ Bull” Manny Fernandez. They discuss Manny defeated George Steele at a recent event for the championship. “The Ragin’ Bull” says he will be a fighting champion, just like “The Animal” and he sees a bright future.

NWA Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Manny Fernandez defeated Ray Apollo with the Flying Burrito after 5:21.

COMMERCIAL BREAK 2

NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk defeated “Iron” Mike Sharpe in 3:39. Just as the match ends, United States Champion Magnum TA rushes the ring and brawls with Terry Funk. A number of officials and some of the wrestlers empty the locker room and separate these two. They drag both men out of the ring, but they get away from the mob and begin to fight in the aisle. The gang of officials and wrestlers once again get the two separated as we head to commercial break.

COMMERCIAL BREAK 3

Tony and David are at the set, review what we just saw. They plead with the MACW officials to sign a match between these two.

Bruce, Keith & Owen Hart defeated Gary Royal, Terry Gibbs & Rene Goulet after Bruce pinned Rene Goulet.

The Midnight Express (w/ Jim Cornette) defeated Jerry Saggs & Brian Knobbs in 5:35 after a Rocket Launcher.

Tony welcomes the Midnight Express to the set. Jim Cornette tells him to shut up, his Momma told him he had TV time tonight. Cornette looks out to the crowd. He tells them that they were just witness to the greatest tag team on God’s green Earth. The NEXT NWA World Tag Team Champions. It doesn’t matter to him if they win the titles in Lutte Internationale, or right here in Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling. All he needs is those idiot Rougeau Brothers to sign the dotted line. His Momma said he would be great, and once they sign that contract, he’ll make her so proud!

COMMERCIAL BREAK 7

NWA United States Heavyweight Champion Magnum TA defeated Dennis Stamp with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex in :45. Magnum is handed his title and he arrives with David and Tony at the set. Tony asks Magnum what can he do about the menace that is Terry Funk. Magnum looks right into the camera and challenges Funk for a match, anywhere, anytime. Title for Title. His US title against the Canadian International Championship.

END OF TV TAPING

Great Kokina won a 16-man battle royal.

I agree with gordi, you have some great jobbers in Ray Apollo, Jim Powers and Paul Roma and are used to really keep midcarders busy on your shows. Although I could see Paul Roma being a useful addition to the 24 Karat stable in the future.

Fuji's Clan and Harts will be finishing up around the loop soon. We got the title change, and some mandatory rematches for the titles and it'll be time to move them off to something else. With Fuji, it's easy to use his guys against the same faces, because he has a number of guys at his disposal. Mr. Saito, Tanaka & Tiger Chung Lee, now its the Masters of Torture and Kokina.

You and Lutte really need to be put over for your abilities to co-promote and use each others talents. I would encourage others to try this model as it not only makes a "super roster" of sorts, but it really adds to the ability to create some great matchups.

Now the age old question has to be answered.... Barry or Magnum... who is the next in line?

Yeah, this is a really advantageous model to use mostly because it allows us to vary our cards every once in a while and give fresh matchups to our fans almost every time. Looks like with the formation of the UWF, USWA & Continental is about to use the same model as well so it's gonna be fun to compare our cards later down the road. But, overall, everyone is doing a fantastic job with their rosters.
