[2001-04-01-WWF-Wrestlemania X-SEVEN] Edge & Christian vs Matt & Jeff Hardy vs D-Von & Bubba Ray Dudley (Tables, Ladders & Chairs II)

Was surprised to see that there's no thread for this match. Good lord, what a spectacle. Though this one goes slightly longer, they pace it a lot better because while spots are being set up, things are actually happening so you're not just watching the guys set up the next big bump while everyone else is dead. Then they added in the wrinkle where every team has a helper as opposed to only the Hardyz having a helper with the Dudleyz having Spike and E&C having Rhyno and I like that the helpers factored into the finish with Rhyno pushing the ladder to send Matt/Bubba through four tables and boosting Christian to where he could get the belts. There's a ton of crazy bumps in this one, Jeff does the 20 foot swanton, they do the crazy spear from RAW only from a bigger ladder, Bubba and Matt go through the four tables. None of the big bumps really top the Matt Hardy backwards bump from the first, but I wouldn't have wanted them to try to top that. I think as a complete package, this is the best of the trilogy. They built off of the previous match, added a couple new wrinkles to the story, got rid of most of the downtime and the end result was a phenomenal stunt show match. Probably my #2 MOTN behind the main event. This is unbelievable. The first three TLC matches are as good as this kind of wrestling ever has been and ever will be. ****3/4

Pretty much agree with everything Big Van has said up until the overall rating.

Maybe these don't age well or perhaps the spots are too obvious in their setup but, in terms of this being an all out war...it doesn't really come across. Personally there isn't enough chair action 😀 and not enough creativity put into the spots. It looks like stunts rather than combat.

Better than TLC 1, a fun spectacle, classic moments of the Attitude era but, not a classic match. Highly recommended it to those who missed it back in the day (like myself) or maybe if you want to watch wrestling with some friends who were fairweather fans back in the late 90s-2000s.

WWF World Tag Team Champions Dudleyz vs Hardyz vs Edge & Christian - Wrestlemania X-7 TLC II

I always thought this paled in comparison to the original and my thought have not changed. The spots are bigger in this match: Jeff's King-Sized Swanton from the HUGE Ladder, Edge's spear on Jeff as he is dangling in the air and then Bubba & Matt just absolutely exploding those tables. But there is a lot less strategy and intrigue than in TLC I. This one is just all about the spots. Before the big three spots, I actually thought Spike, Rhyno & Lita were the best part of the match. They were very entertaining and brought the energy. I thought the finish was wicked anti-climatic. I liked how Jeff, Matt and Bubba had been eliminated. But D-Von doing his slow climb while Christian was on Rhino's shoulders just fell flat for me. Watch it for the big three spots, but I dont think this is as good as the original. Still one helluva spectacle. ****

I think this far out does the match from the year before. The stunts are just as crazy and reach far more height than its predecessor. The spear off the ladder onto Jeff is rather legendary at this point. Not just that. The double table spot between Bubba and Matt. The interference was well done and it was done to maximum effect. Unbelievable match ****1/2

More of the same from Summerslam with a few added bells and whistles. Each team has an interfering wrestler/valet to help them out and the spots are more crazier than those saw in the Summerslam match. They perfected  the car crash spotfest formula and they would never come close to this brilliance again. Despite WWE having a PPV named after this match for a decade, I can't name a single excellent TLC or ladder match that wowed me anywhere close to the level of this.
