Up this week is a qualifying match for Lutte Internationale’s Battlebowl event. We also have a debuting young tag team and “Superstar” Graham is in action. Jay Strongbow defeated Ray Apollo. Strongbow comes over to talk with Tony. Strongbow talks about leaving the territory for a little while to work all across the country. He’s back in MACW and looking to get some championships. Pete Doherty walks out and asks how Strongbow should be getting title shots around here. He was a loser before, and still is a loser. Strongbow says that he’ll beat Doherty, and that’ll show the match makers that he’s ready for a title shot. Doherty agrees as he walks off the set. Strongbow waves to the fans as we head to our first break. COMMERCIAL BREAK 1 Pete Doherty defeated Swede Hansen. Jay Strongbow stayed with Tony and David to help with commentary He comments that he hopes we can get this match signed for next week's show. Both men face off on set after the match. Doherty lays in a cheap shot before running to the locker room. Strongbow shakes off the blow before heading to the break. COMMERCIAL BREAK 2 Lutte Internationale Battle Bowl Qualifying match Ray Stevens defeated Pedro Morales to qualify in 8:30 after a backbreaker. Ray Stevens is at the set with David Crockett. David asks where is JJ Dillon for this important match. Ray says he had some important business to take care of. David questions if JJ being absent has something to do with the rumors about trouble inside the 24 Karat group. Ray asks what he is talking about, saying they have never been stronger. He and Orton had one minor setback not winning the World Tag Team Championships. They will fix that soon enough. COMMERCIAL BREAK 3 Jay & Mark Youngblood defeated Doug Vines and Jeff Sword. Tony and David discuss the upcoming Great American Bash tour. They announced the challengers for the World Champion on those shows. They discuss how big these shows will be, especially with Lutte Internationale and Smoky Mountain Wrestling having cards, wrestlers and matches involved throughout the month of July as well. COMMERCIAL BREAK 4 Mr. Saito (w/ Mr. Fuji) defeated Dusty Wolfe. Mr. Fuji brings Saito onto the interview set. He discusses the upcoming Mid Atlantic Heavyweight championship match he has with Manny Fernandez. COMMERCIAL BREAK 5 Lutte Internationale Battle Bowl Qualifying match NWA United States Heavyweight & NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk defeated Thunderbolt Patterson after a piledriver to qualify for Battlebowl. COMMERCIAL BREAK 6 We return with Terry Funk at the set yelling at Tony and David for going to commercial break before talking with the only double champion in the NWA. He wants to talk about his victory over Magnum TA. He wants to talk about being the number one man in the NWA. He wants to just beat people up. He tosses the microphone down and walks off. I think those feuds throughout the card make for an interesting show. I also like to see the open competition between organizations for venues as both WWF and MACW ran shows in Cincinnati here. agentofenton Posted June 28, 2017 Author Report Share Posted June 28, 2017 In an effort to get caught up before running the Great American Bash tour (which is less than a week away!!), I am submitting these "Dirt sheet reports" with TV and live event write ups about the shows. Basically just covering the main stories I have going on over the next two weeks of shows. I should have this weeks shows up in the next day or two, ready for the Bash tour to begin! Dirt Sheet Live Show Reports: WCW TV Taping from Greensboro Coliseum Big news coming out of the show was the two masked guys who laid out Bob Orton Jr. & Ray Stevens after their match against some local guys. JJ Dillon teased a LOT of tension and walked out on them right before the attack. 24 Karat is in for some kind of major shake up it appears. They continued building Magnum TA vs Terry Funk rematch with interviews with both guys. Funk’s was a pre-tape, but he wrestled in the dark match main event defending the US title against Sam Houston. Tully continued his stangle-hold on the TV title by pinning Bruce Hart Pete Doherty defeated Jay Strongbow. They announced that Cpl. Kirchner and George Steele will challenge the Foreign Legion on TV next week, this looks to be the set up for their TV program going into the Bash tours. A LOT of hype for the Great American Bash tour. Ric Flair ended the show with a pretty awesome interview with David Crockett about defending the World Title against all 10 of those challengers. It was also announced that his title match against Superstar Graham would be inside a steel cage, but that it was Graham’s last shot as long as Flair is the World Champion. World Wide Wrestling TV Report Show is from South Hill, VA Mr. Saito defeated Manny Fernandez via countout in a title match. The title didn’t change hands, but Fuji insisted on a rematch next week World Wide Wrestling. Youngbloods & Strongbow defeated local guys. They are building them as the next real challengers to Fuji’s Clan for the 6-man titles. Main event for the show was Superstar Graham, Cpl. Kirchner & George Steele defeating Foreign Legion and Ricky Santana in a decent brawl. Bob Caudle got up from ringside and chatted with Graham after the match about his World Title Steel Cage match on the Bash tour as the show ended. A report from someone who attended the show live said that Great Kokina won a battle royal and Ric Flair defeated Pedro Morales. Other notable matches from the rest of the new loop (June 14-16) Magnum TA defeated Terry Funk via DQ in Fishersville. Flair and Graham went at it again with Flair winning by holding the tights. Another stalling match, but built to a decent finish. Foreign Legion went at it again with Kirchner and Steele, retaining their titles. Blanchard and Houston are doing special 30-minute time limit draw based on the TV this week. World Championship Wrestling Television Report (6/22/85) Taped in Philadelphia, PA BIG TIME story coming out of this taping was the break up of 24 Karat! JJ Dillon FIRES Bob Orton Jr. and Ray Stevens for failing to bring the World Tag Team titles to the group. This break up and story built throughout the show. JJ comes out alone and fires the two now former members of 24 Karat. Later in the show Bob Orton Jr and Ray Stevens visit the set with David Crockett and didn’t even know what had happened as they had just arrived to the building. David shows the earlier segment with JJ and the two leave to find JJ. When we return from commercial break, We see Stevens and Orton in an argument with JJ. Flair and Blanchard enter the locker room and all four men have a shouting contest. JJ kicks the camera from the locker room. When we return, a segment later, Bob Caudle has shown up and knocks on the door. Orton and Stevens open the door, but before they can speak, the two masked men from last week appear and beat them down once again. The masked men take off. The camera rises up and sees Flair, Blanchard and Dillon arrive back to the locker room. They grab Caudle’s microphone and tell Stevens and Orton that they are FIRED! And that 24 Karat is no more. Next week, reinforcements arrive. They all laugh as the segment ends. In other news from this show. Cpl. Kirchner and George Steele won their match against the Foreign Legion via DQ. Paul Jones, and the Legion stop the match just minutes after the match begins and beat the challengers down. The use the flags as weapons, leaving the two laying. Terry Funk wrestled on the show and defeated Fred Ottman after a series of neckbreakers. Terry then stormed the set and yelled at Tony Schiavone, wanting to take on Magnum. He challenges him to any stipulation he wants. Name it. Funk wants Magnum. They continue building Youngbloods and Strongbow as a team to challenge for the 6-man tag titles with another TV win. More hype for the Bash tour. Next week begins the announcements of more matches signed for the beginning of the tour, including a hint at what will happen for the US Championship! World Wide Wrestling TV Report for June 23, 1985 From Baltimore, MD Mr. Saito defeated Manny Fernandez via DQ after Mr. Fuji tried to interfere, Manny dropped Fuji, took his cane and beat on Saito with it causing the DQ. This sets up a rematch next week for the title, if Manny loses in any fashion, the title goes to Saito. Pete Doherty defeated Thunderbolt Patterson Pedro Morales defeated Ricky Santana In non-televised matches, Magnum TA and Superstar Graham battled Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard to a 45-minute draw. Fuji’s Clan retained their titles over the Hart Brothers and Cpl. Kirchner Terry Funk defeated Sam Houston to retain the US title. More Non-Televised tour news for June 21-23 Magnum TA and Sam Houston wrestled Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard in 45-minute draw. Manny Fernandez defeated John Tatum and Pete Doherty in title matches. Bob Orton Jr. & Ray Stevens wrestled the Youngbloods and The Vachon’s, winning all three nights. He is not eligible until late 1986. I dropped Patera as he is not eligible until 1987. Lowblow picked up Patera but is not using him until 87. This week, Magnum TA will respond to Terry Funk’s challenge from last week’s WCW. A new tag team will debut this week. The Great American Bash tour will begin on July 4th, but next week on World Wide Wrestling, we will have some footage from Lutte Internationale’s event in Charlotte from June 28th! So many big time matches are scheduled for that event. This is a huge event to kick off the Great American Bash month, we hope all of you NWA fans will come to Charlotte and check out the event! NWA World Television Champion Tully Blanchard defeated Rene Goulet in a non title match with a Slingshot Suplex. JJ Dillon was on commentary with David Crockett discussing the events of last week and the firing of Bob Orton Jr. and Ray Stevens. He says if you can’t perform, you get fired, it’s that simple. COMMERCIAL BREAK 1 We return from break and we have a debuting tag team. They are masked men, but don’t appear to be the same masked men that attacked Orton and Stevens last week. These two are wearing matching outfits, and have a similar build. Standing next to each other, it’s very difficult to tell them apart. They call themselves Masked Confusion. They would not give an interview before their match. MASKED CONFUSION defeated Jeff Sword and Doug Vines. During the match, they hype more action coming up in the Great American Bash tour. Matches for some of the shows will be announced in a later segment on tonight’s show. COMMERCIAL BREAK 2 Magnum TA defeated Italian Stallion with the Belly to Belly Suplex. Magnum walks up to the set and talks with Tony Schiavone. He asks Tony what is coming up in the next few weeks for the NWA? Tony responds with the Great American Bash tour. Magnum looks around at the crowd. He gets back to Tony. Magnum says he is going to throw back a challenge to Terry Funk, and an answer needs to be given on World Wide Wrestling. Magnum challenges Funk for the US title, but he wants to have a Best of Seven series. That’s right, a Best of Seven Matches series throughout the Great American Bash tour. Magnum looks right in the camera. Terry Funk, you want me so badly, you can have me. You can have all of me. You want to prove yourself to me, to the fans, and the entire NWA? Then accept my challenge. Beat me four times in a row. I don’t think you can do it. I don’t think you can beat me 4 times in the entire month. Let’s put the title on the line. The winner of the series becomes to champion. So, even if I beat you in the first match, or the second match, or even the third match, I don’t become the champion until I defeat you in four of the seven matches. Tony gets really excited about the possibility of seven matches between these two! Magnum stops him and says well, one more twist Tony. If we make it to match number seven, the last match, the deciding match will be inside a steel cage! Magnum walks off as Tony loses his mind. COMMERCIAL BREAK 3 Great Kokina defeated Fred Ottman with a sitout splash. Tony and David bring the discuss to RFK Stadium in Washington, DC on July 4th. As previously announced, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair will defend the championship against Lutte Internationale’s Gino Brito! A huge six-man tag team match has been signed….as Magnum TA and the Rock ‘n Roll Express will take on the NWA United States Champion Terry Funk & his newest buddies, the MASKED CONFUSION. Interesting tag team match there. Also a TV Title match, as Ray Stevens looks to get some revenge against Tully Blanchard. That should be a fight right there. That’s just some of the major matches signed for July 4th! COMMERCIAL BREAK 4 Ray Stevens & Bob Orton Jr vs The Youngbloods never takes place as scheduled. As Stevens and Orton walk out from the locker room. They are jumped by the masked men again. Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard are also out, helping with the attack. Stevens and Orton are bloodied and beaten badly. The Youngbloods try to make the save, but are attacked in the ring by more masked men! What is going on here? Two sets of masked men are out here! Youngbloods are tossed from the ring as Flair and Blanchard walk up to the ring and get into it. They shake those guys hands as the other set of masked men follow them into the ring. JJ Dillon walks into the ring with briefcase and hand it to the men that attacked the Youngbloods. THey take the case and unmask to be Bill and Scott Irwin! The crowd boos, but are surprised as the unveiling. Irwins take the case and leave. Flair reaches out and hugs the other two masked men, who remove their masks. Ole and Arn Anderson! Tully and JJ laugh it up as all the men embrace in the middle of the ring. This must be what they meant last week by reinforcements are here! Is this the new 24 Karat?! As they leave the ring, David wants some answers. Flair comes over to the set as we see Orton and Stevens are getting medical help. Flair comes over and grabs the mic. He talks about how 24 Karat failed! He allowed LOSERS to be on their team. That can’t happen any longer. He’s the WORLD’S HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. Tully is the BEST wrestler on TELEVISION! So, he made a call to family. His cousins, the meanest, toughest embrey’s in the world. Ole and Arn Anderson. No one is tougher than either of these two men. Now that they have finally arrived in the NWA, Mid Atlantic, Lutte Internationale, Smoky Mountain, any other NWA territory...EVERYONE should be afraid of what this means. The four very best wrestlers in the entire world are now together in one place. The most dominant team in the world, joining with the two greatest individual wrestlers EVER….No one, not one person, not one team, will ever be able to get one over on this set of talent. WHOOOOO!!!!! COMMERCIAL BREAK 5 Tony and David come back to WCW and they are in shock. What has just happened here?! Ric Flair brings in his family, The Andersons, as his backup with JJ and Tully Blanchard. A very chaotic scene as they just finished up taking Orton and Stevens to the back as well as helping the Youngbloods out. Ricky Santana defeated Dennis Stamp. During this contest, they continue to talk about this new supergroup that has formed here. What kind of dominance they have already shown tonight. What does this mean for the future? They talk about trying to get the medical updates on Orton and Stevens when they can. COMMERCIAL BREAK 6 Cpl. Kirchner & George Steele defeated JR Hogg & Lenny Kean David Crockett leaves the set during this match to find out about Stevens and Orton. After the match, the camera crew catches up with David as he’s just outside the first aid room. Bob Orton Jr. comes out and promises revenge on those guys. He doesn’t know what the hell has gotten into Flair and Blanchard, but they have drawn that line in the sand. He challenges the Andersons to a match on July 4th, and he will bring his own backup. COMMERCIAL BREAK 7 Thunderbolt Patterson defeated “Hollywood” John Tatum (w/ Madusa) after Luna Vachon returned at went after Madusa, causing Tatum to get distracted and get rolled up for the loss. Tony and David finished up hyping the Pre-Bash tour Lutte has this weekend and promising to show footage on next week’s World Wide Wrestling. Also hyping the July 4th show and just as we head off the air, they have heard from JJ Dillon, and he accepted Orton’s challenge for a tag team match in Washington DC. They recap some footage from the World Championship Wrestling show where all hell broke loose. The Andersons appeared, initially under masks, and are aligned with Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard (with JJ Dillon). 24 Karat is shattered, and the battle lines are drawn. Madusa (w/ John Tatum) defeated Luna Vachon when John Tatum tripped Luna against the ropes. COMMERCIAL BREAK 1 NWA Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Championship Match “The Duke of Dorchester” Pete Doherty (Replacing Mr. Saito) defeated Manny Fernandez to win the championship. The announcement was made that. Mr. Saito was no longer available due to a personal situation. Manny said he would be willing to defend the title against a replacement. Pete Doherty accepted the challenge and won with a hotshot after about 9 minutes. COMMERCIAL BREAK 2 & 3 NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair (w/ JJ Dillon) defeated Jay Strongbow in a non-title match. Tully Blanchard sat with Bob Caudle and Johnny Weaver to provide commentary. After the match, Tully came in and beat down Strongbow and tossed him to the floor as they celebrated in the ring to close the show. END OF TV TAPING The Youngbloods defeated The Irwins NWA United States Tag Team Championship Match The Foreign Legion © (w/ Paul Jones) defeated Cpl. Kirchner & George Steele NWA Television Championship Match - Taped Fist Match Tully Blanchard © (w/ JJ Dillon) defeated Superstar Graham after JJ handed Tully a roll of half dollars and knocked out Graham. Really enjoying that one. Not a big fan of honoring jail sentences (Patera/Saito) since it's short term and for silly reasons. I respect any league that honors these things for the interest of reality, but I think in fantasy it's better to use them and show what they COULD have done if they weren't working the AWA at that questionable period in time. lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In a weird way, those Magnum/Funk matches could be even better than Magnum/Nikita - Kokina/Ottman is a big match, literally. - Yeah, while I loved 24 Karat as an alt-Horsemen, you've got to bring in the Anderson's if possible.
