and Mississippi on July 27, 1985

Hosted by Gordon Solie & Joe Pedicino

(Show opens with highlights of the Austin Idol/Jerry Lawler feud in the USWA, we then cut to Gordon Solie and Joe Pedicino at the desk)

CCWSetSoliePedicino.jpg

Gordon addresses that we haven't seen UWF Unified World Champion Austin Idol in the past couple of weeks because he's had his hands full in the USWA with the challenge of Jerry 'the King' Lawler. Solie says that Fritz Von Erich has confirmed that at UWF Beach Brawl in Orlando it will be a "Double Main Event", TWO CAGE MATCHES….Main Event #1: Dusty Rhodes vs. David Sammartino with special referee Bruno Sammartino in a Steel Cage and Main Event #2: UWF Unified World Championship inside a STEEL CAGE: Austin Idol vs. Jerry 'the King' Lawler! It has also been confirmed that the UWF Continental Tag Team Titles will be on the line as the champions will defend against the world renown Rock & Roll Express.

The CCW Tag Champs The Exotic Superstars (Bill Dundee/Adrian Street) w/Ms. Linda come out of the back….Dundee asks why Gordon is just saying 'the champions' as if it could be another team…he says they will be the champions on August 4th and they will beat the Rock & Roll Express like they've beaten everyone else in the UWF so far. Street says they will not only beat Morton and Gibson but they will make them scream just like the little girls do when they come out to the ring, now excuse them while they go put on a clinic in the ring.

The opening match of the show features UWF Continental Tag Team Champions The Exotic Superstars (Adrian Street/Bill Dundee) w/Ms. Linda defeating Ted Allen/Blue Cyclone when Street made Cyclone submit to a 'Boston Crab'

COMMERCIALS and Local House Show Promos

The Stud Stable (Big John Studd/Eddie Gilbert/Tommy Rich) w/"Tennessee Stud" Ron Fuller join Coach John Heath in the interview area. Gilbert says they have all sorts of matches coming up….they have to defend the UWF World Six Man Tag Team Titles against the Armstrongs on Monday in Birmingham which he says will be a walk in the park…..Rich talks about the $30,000 Bunkhouse Battle Royal that will take place in Dallas on Sunday and how the Stable will win it and split the money….then Ron Fuller says that Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden have signed a six man tag team grudge match at Beach Brawl and they can't wait to see who they think they are going to bring as a partner. Big John Studd said that he hopes it's not another "midget like Danny Davis"…….(Before Studd can finish, they cut back to the desk in the studio where Robert Fuller and Jimmy Golden have joined Joe Pedicino)

Robert says that he doesn't care if the Armstrongs take the Six Man titles from the Stable before Beach Brawl because this is more personal than belts at this point….this is about revenge and they have found a partner who assures them they will get revenge on Ron Fuller and the Stud Stable…..Pedicino asks who the partner is…..Jimmy Golden says their partner at Beach Brawl will be none other than the one…….the only….the 8th Wonder of the World…..ANDRE THE GIANT!! (The crowd goes wild and the camera cuts back to the dressing room where the Stud Stable are beside the themselves at the announcement of Andre the Giant teaming with Fuller and Golden in Orlando on August 4th!!

The 2nd match on television this week sees UWF Southern Champion Mr. Olympia defeat Carl Fergie with a Sleeper hold

OlympiaCloseUp.jpg

Coach John Heath comes to ringside to speak to Olympia. Mr. Olympia says this Monday night this war with Super Olympia comes to an end, because Monday night in Birmingham…it's going to be a 'Mask vs. Mask' match and the best part is that Teddy Muscles will be in a cage suspended above the ring and David Sammartino is barred from the building so there will be no interference this week. Olympia says he will pull off the mask and expose Super Olympia once and for all!

Gordon Solie shows footage from last Monday night where Mr. Wrestling 2/Shane Douglas defeated Black Bart/"Outlaw" Ron Bass by DQ when Douglas nearly pinned Bart and Bass grabbed his bullwhip and started choking Douglas with it until Mr. Wrestling 2 grabbed a chair from ringside and ran both Bart and Bass off. Solie says that Douglas and Mr. Wrestling 2 aren't here at the Tampa Sportatorium this week but Monday night they will face off with Bart and Bass again, but this time it will be in a 'Bullwhip on a Pole' match. Black Bart and Ron Bass come out, Bart says that "Rasslin' 2 and Shawn Douglas must be dadgum stinkin' idiots to face them in a bullwhip on a pole match. Rasslin' 2 is senile and Douglas is greener than dadgum Kermit the Frog", Bass adds…"If Wrestling 2 really wanted to help that kid he would have told him not to mess with the Desperados!"

The 3rd television match features the newly christened Desperados (Black Bart/"Outlaw" Ron Bass) defeating The Tonga Kid/Sabu when Bart pinned Sabu after a legdrop off the 2nd rope

COMMERCIALS and more local house show promos

Joe Pedicino welcomes out Kevin Von Erich who talks about his recent match with CCW Champion Bam Bam Bigelow and says that this Monday night he will walk out of Birmingham the Continental Heavyweight Champion…..Bigelow makes his way out to the desk and shoves Kevin and a brawl nearly breaks out…as security and other wrestlers had to come out and get between them. Bigelow grabs a mic and says if Kevin wants a preview of what's going to happen on Monday, he'll put the title on the line against Mike Von Erich right now instead of just "beating up the other scrub" he was supposed to face tonight.

The 4th match of the night:

UWF Continental Heavyweight Championship

Bam Bam Bigelow beat Mike Von Erich after a slingshot splash over the top rope……Bigelow went to give Mike a 2nd splash this time off the top rope but was shoved off by Kevin Von Erich who then mounted Bigelow and started nailing him with a flurry of punches until the dressing room emptied again to break it up

I must say that it is great working with you as we seem to build off of each other. Beach Brawl is turning out to be the card of the year and I am really looking forward to it.

I find the Kevin VonErich-Bigelow feud coming up to be something to keep the Texas fans on the edge of their seats.

I really like the way you wrote up that battle royal.

I enjoyed that Mask vs Mask match as well. The loser leaves and comes back with the mask...a great story and good resolution here.

The six-man was good stuff here and the final moments were good with the Armstrongs left for dead. Very powerful visuals here to build up the next events.
