The members of this board have been very helpful in selecting footage for me to show 2 newer fans for my podcast.  They asked to see a long running feud and have seen very little of pre WWF Jerry Lawler.

So I decided to do the King vs. the Superstar Bill Dundee.  I am looking for between 60-75 minutes of their best matches, promos, angles and moments through the decades.   What should I put in?

This is a comp I've been wanting to make for years. I could probably put something together tonight, but honestly the best intro for new fans would just be the episode of TV hyping the 83 LLT and then the arena match.

Oh my God man, that's like asking for the best 60 minutes of 90s AJPW or something, there's so much great stuff to cover.

As peachchaos said, If you're only going to do that though, the best bet would be to watch the 6/4/83 WMC-5 Memphis TV show with the two of them spending nearly the entire show out with Lance Russell hyping up their upcoming loser leaves town match. Then watch the 6/6/83 match itself. You can see them being brilliant at both promos and character work and in-ring and everything that made the feud so special.

The holy trilogy of LLT matches is a must see. It's like the original Star Wars trilogy.

I was under the impression the 83 LLT was just about 3 minutes of highlights.  I'd prefer to show more to give them a sense of the scale of this feud, of just how long it went and mattered.

No, its available oin full, some of the good folks who post here had it on the DVDVR Memphis 80s set. To me it's like the 6/3/94 of 80s American wrestling, one of my all-time favorite matches. It may not be online but I bet someone here could get you those items very affordably, it's worth it, all-time classic stuff.

Actually look what just showed up on YouTube a month ago, that TV show. I think I can post the link here since nobody knows who owns Memphis footage but if I'm in error here mods please forgive me, it's in trying to introduce a brother to the greatest wrestling of all-time,

I've always wished there was a comp available featuring the best promos and matches of the Lawler/Dundee feud. I assumed it wasn't available commercially because of issues with the rights, and I never heard of anybody else putting one out. :(

You are living up to your name as the Thread Killer lol.

I actually did GASP download every episode of Memphis TV.  So I've got the episode but not the whole match.   The only part of that match I have is a highlights reel set to a Rocky tune.  So if anyone has that...........if not, what's out there?  This particular episode won't be recording until late October so I've got some time to hunt.

Don't know if Goodhelmet still sells discs but that Lawler set is incredible and should be essential viewing for any fan of southern wrestling.

Coincidentally I just saw a video on youtube titled "The best Lawler-Dundee angle ever" with the Lawler/Dundee tag team promo and everything that resulted from what was said in that promo.  I grew up watching whatever territories they aired on TV in the mid to late 80s.  I've seen Memphis before but that was mostly later in the 80s so to say that I was blown away by Dundee's promos would be an understatement.  I had never seen a Dundee-Lawler match or promo before finding that video a couple of days ago Lawler was great while the Fabs were the right compliment for somewhat of a nuanced anglel.  Dundee just wound up and off he went doing a couple of great promos in what I am assuming is the same hour of television.

It just had EVERYTHING that is missing on Mondays and Tuesdays in this era  Some things from thirty or more years ago can look dated to something similar in the present.  This made WWE promos look fake in comparison.  RAW and Smackdown looked like the minor leagues or cosplaying wrestling when compared to great 80s promos.

There's so much Memphis TV available and it's so worth your time. It's like my mission in life to get people to watch 80s Memphis TV, it's so good and accessible now (except 1980, boring year, skip it). If you love Dundee heel promos, the first few months of 1986 are tremendous, Dundee has one of my favorite heel runs ever.

I have the DVDVR Memphis discs ripped as .iso files. I'll see if there's an easy way for me to cut the 83 match and get it on YouTube.

1) Install DVD Shrink

2) Use Re-Author mode on DVD Shrink on the ISO file to cut it down to just the one match you want, authoring to a folder, not an ISO

3) Find the big file in the folder you just created.

4) Change the extension to .mpg

5) Upload to Youtube

There's also a really great 3 disc set that 70's TV.com put out that covers the whole series.

I would hesitate to put that match on YouTube since it was on the WWE Lawler DVD.
