Dadgummit that was great.  The Black Bart interview was priceless.  Loved the Jock Cousteau comment.

Mercer and Valiant discuss Mr. Olympia winning the Television championship last week and the fact he'll be defending it this week against The Grappler w/Percival Pringle III.  We'll also see the Desperados in action against Kendall Windham and Blackjack Mulligan tonight and the Grudge Match….Bad News Allen taking on "Maniac" Mark Lewin.

 

 

Match #1- Checkmate defeated Will Owens by submission with an abdominal stretch

 

Checkmate tells Marc Lowrance that he will soundly defeat Lonestar in Amarillo and not only beat him but unmask him as well.

The Desperados (Black Bart/Ron Bass/Killer Brooks) join Marc Lowrance at ringside.  Bart says "I don't appreciate that dadgum Jock Cousteau goin' on that Canadian Rasslin show runnin' his stinkin' mouth about me! On October 25th, there's going to be a special show airing on television called 'Fright Night' and if Cousteau wants to come down here and fight me for that belt….I'll be glad to take it from him!"

Kendall Windham/Blackjack Mulligan defeated The Desperados (Brooks/Bass) w/Black Bart when Mulligan pinned Brooks after a powerslam, The Desperados left Windham/Mulligan laid out after the match with a triple team attack.

Interesting things going on in Texas.  The team of Hayes and Street is perfect!  Also like that Bad News is a man that it out on his own as he goes up against Percy's group and then wants nothing to do with Wahoo!

 

Could we see a Battle of the Claws down the road as the Spoiler meets a VonErich?

 

Again good use of Black Bart!!!

Bill Mercer welcomes everyone to Fright Night and promises there's going to be some great action here tonight at the Sportatorium.  Also, Freddie Blassie says he has a huge announcement tonight following our opening bout. The camara man then pans the crowd to show all the young fans in their halloween costumes.

 

 

DJ Peterson pinned "Flamboyant" Eric Embry with a sunset flip off the top rope

 

 

Marc Lawrence is joined by "Classy" Freddie Blassie, WCCW World Champion "King" Harley Race, and the WCCW World Six Man Tag Team Champs The Kingsmen (Adrian Adonis/David Sammartino/Ted Arcidi).  Blassie tells Marc Lowrance now that Harley Race has proven himself to be the one and only 'King of Wrestling', that he is now going to step aside and allow proper royalty to lead his career moving forward so he asks that everyone in the Sportatorium stand on their feet and welcome his Lordship…Alfred Hayes!  Lord Alfred Hayes says that he is here to make sure that the King is treated with the dignity and respect that he deserves and that he will eventually retire still the World Heavyweight Champion because there's not a wrestler in the world who is on the King's level.

"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin w/Precious pinned Mr. Olympia after a 'Brainbuster' to win the WCCW Television title

 

At ringside, Jimmy Garvin takes the mic and says that the Television championship is merely a stepping stone to the top and there's no one in World Class who can hold a candle to him.  Precious takes the mic and says that anyone who thinks they can challenge the champ…step right up! Garvin grabs the mic away from her and says…."Not everyone, worthy challengers only and I WILL decide who is worthy!"

Bad News Allen fought "Big" John Studd w/Percival Pringle III to a double countout…..In the mayhem Bad News got his hands on Percy and was about to knock him out when the Grappler and Mark Lewin cut him off.

WCCW Texas Heavyweight Championship - REMATCH

Bam Bam Bigelow w/Missy Hyatt defeated Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy in a wild match that saw the referee get knocked out that led to Eddie Gilbert/Rip Rogers/Sting and Michael Hayes/Buddy Roberts/Adrian Street to all get involved….those six guys end up brawling on the floor while Missy tried to hit Gordy with her loaded purse, Gordy cut her off and put her over his knee and spanked her…..afterwards he turned around and was struck in the head by a glass coke bottle that Bigelow grabbed off a ringside table….Missy shook referee Rick Hazard who crawled over and counted to three allowing Bigelow to retain the belt

 

 

The Rougeau Brothers join Marc Lowrance at ringside. Jacques tells the fans it's great to be in Texas and it's a shame that guys like Black Bart give this great state a bad name when acts and talks the way he does.  Raymond says tonight he will make sure that he keeps the other Desperados at bay so that Jacques can have a fair fight with Black Bart and shut his mouth once and for all!

When we return from the break, The Mercenaries and Percy Pringle are in the ring as  Mark Lowrance has been joined at ringside by Fritz Von Erich who tells the fans that tonight Percy Pringle will not be a factor because he is going to be handcuffed at ringside to Mike Von Erich, Percy Pringle gets out of the ring and tells Fritz that he will not be handcuffed to anyone! He turns to storm up the aisle and leave but he's met half way up the aisle by Bad News Allen!  As Pringle back pedals down the aisle to escape Bad News he backs into Mike Von Erich at ringside who slaps the cuffs on this wrist as 'Stranglehold' by Ted Nugent plays bringing Kevin and Kerry Von Erich to the ring!

Absolutely agreed! Really love Lord Alfred Hayes being paired with Harley Race. Such a natural fit!

 

Also curious to see how will go Jimmy Garvin's run as TV Champion. This should be fun!

The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers (Jacques/Raymond) defeated Big John Studd/The Grappler w/Percival Pringle III when Jacques pinned the Grappler after the "Le Bomb De Rougeau" after Bad News Allen came to ringside and got into a brawl with Big John Studd that resulted in them fighting out of the building,  While the Rougeaus were celebrating their victory, The Desperados (Black Bart/Killer Brooks/Ron Bass) hit the ring and attacked the Rougeaus and left them laying in the middle of the ring. 

 

Black Bart: "Take that you dadgum french canadian sissies! Jock you got lucky last night boy, but it won't never happen again!  I want another shot at that there belt of your's and I want it....in a bullrope match!  Name the time and place, and I'll take that belt back here to Texas!!"

 

 

 

WCCW Texas Heavyweight Championship

"Iceman" King Parsons pinned Bam Bam Bigelow w/Missy Hyatt to win the Texas Championship after Terry Gordy came to ringside and snatched up Missy Hyatt over his shoulder and started up the aisle with her, which distracted Bigelow who then turned around into a "butt-butt" from Parsons

WCCW World Tag Team Championship- Rematch

Kerry/Kevin Von Erich w/Mike Von Erich defeated The Mercenaries (Kareem Muhammad/Elijah Akeem) w/Percival Pringle III when Kevin pinned Akeem with a reverse cross body off the top rope

WCCW World Heavyweight Championship

"King" Harley Race w/Lord Alfred Hayes fought Jumbo Tsuruta to a 45 minute time limit draw

That is exactly what I remember from World Class.  Big matches all the time with chaos all around.  I love that Bigelow started the trouble but Iceman and Bam Bam Gordy got the last laugh

A little much on the Jimmy Garvin for my tastes, but it all seems very Texas to me. :)  The von Erichs getting the best of things every time was still a huge deal at this point, so that is pretty spot on as well. :)
