NWA Lutte Internationale TV

Taped at CHLT-TV Studios, Sherbrooke, QC

Broadcasted October 5th, 1985

dieu.jpg220px-Nwalogobw.jpg

-The broadcast team opens up by hyping the current loop happening in Toronto, Calgary & Edmonton this week and they discuss the events of last night in which Classy Freddie Blassie's team from World Class defeated the team of Gino Brito, Rick Martel & Kevin Von Erich because of Bruno Sammartino's involvement outside in the end. The broadcast team questioned Bruno's impartiality going forward, especially if World Class is working further down the line with Lutte. As a result, Bruno has been asked to not attend the end of the loop and Stu Hart will also be the special guest referee in tonight's match in Calgary between Masked Confusion and The Guerreros. Bruno will meet with the NWA Board of Directors early next week.

-In today's first match, Gilles "The Fish" Poisson squares off against "Ace" Bob Orton, with Sherri Martel. A somewhat evenly fought battle at first with Poisson carrying his momentum over his recent wins in live events. However, with a little help from Sherri, Ace is able to turn the tide and maintain the advantage. Orton takes the victory with a piledriver in about 7 minutes.

-After the match, Sherri Martel & "Ace" Bob Orton join the broadcast team for an interview. Sherri says she finally can address the obvious. And no, she's not talking about being the NWA World Women's Champion before the end of 1985. She talks about the fact that "Ace" Bob Orton is exactly what a Sensational should be like. She points out at the old worn now-sleeveless Sensational jacket that used to belong to Terry Taylor and Orton is worthier to wear it than Taylor would've ever been. Bob Orton takes his turn and says that he has the mission to bring back gold to the Sensationals and that's what he's intending to do. Right now, there's a main event coming up with a Four Corners match that will possibly put the winner in line for the Canadian International TV title. His fellow Sensational Billy Robinson is in it and he hopes he wins because a win for one Sensational is a win for all Sensationals. And with the addition of "Hangman" Bobby Jaggers, the Sensationals are now stronger than ever. They're already looking forward towards 1986 and this will be their year in Lutte Internationale.

-After a commercial break, Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier are meeting with Raymond Rougeau, who has been struggling recently to secure some victories. Raymond says that he's aware of the situation and he's working hard to turn the tide and going back to his winning ways. Raymond is asked if there is any jealousy of recent singles success for his brothers; Jacques is the current NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion and Armand was the inaugural Quebec Heavyweight Champion. Raymond says no, that he's happy for them and he's supportive. That brings out Alexis Smirnoff, who calls out Raymond for being a liar. Smirnoff says that this is typical of French Canadians, who can't accept that their neighbors are having success and instead of supporting them, they stab them in the back. Raymond calls out Smirnoff, bringing back his previous identity as "Justice" Dubois. Smirnoff quickly changes the subject and says that there's no chance in hell that Raymond could beat him in 10 minutes right now. Raymond is willing to take him up on his offer. Raymond says he'll quit wrestling if Smirnoff beats him next week on TV. And Smirnoff one-ups him by telling him that if he loses to Raymond, he'll revert back to his "Justice" Dubois character and will spit on the Soviet Flag! Both men shake hands and we have one helluva main event for next week that could have serious implications in the future!

-Main event time as Billy Robinson, NWA World Tag Team Champion Botswana Beast, Steve Strong & Gino Brito collide in a 4 Corners Match. This one will be one fall to a finish, so no elimination. The easy thing to do early is to gang up on the big Botswana Beast and that's what is being done. But Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman has more than one trick up his sleeve and a verbal joust with Sherri Martel on the outside distract Billy Robinson long enough for the Beast to destroy everyone in the ring. As for the rest of the match itself, rookie Steve Strong is being pretty impressive, showing some feat of strengths against Gino Brito & Billy Robinson namely. Eventually, all hell breaks loose as Bob Orton shows up at ringside when Eddy tries to rough up Sherri on the outside and Orton shoves The Brain. As Billy Robinson & Steve Strong get involved as well, this allows Gino Brito to roll up Botswana Beast to score the victory! Looks like we have a stables turf war in Lutte! And Gino Brito might just've secured himself another title shot for Super Strong Machine's TV title! The show ends with Eddy Creatchman yelling at Sherri as Robinson & Orton escort Sherri out of the arena!

NWA Lutte Internationale TV

Taped at CHLT-TV Studios, Sherbrooke, QC

Broadcasted October 12th, 1985

dieu.jpg220px-Nwalogobw.jpg

-This week's show opens with a singles match between Chavo Guerrero and The Great Samu, lead to the ring by "Pretty Boy" Floyd Creatchman. During the match, Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier mention that this week's TV could be the last time we see the Guerreros since tomorrow night in Calgary, the Guerreros wrestle The Machines in a 6-Men Match with the losing team leaving Lutte Internationale. Chavo Guerrero doesn't seem to bothered by this and remains focused on the task at hand. Chavo gets the victory over Samu, thanks to the Gory Special!

-Up next, Chavo's brother, Mando Guerrero squares off against Billy Robinson, accompanied to the ring by Sherri Martel. A very highly contested technical showdown between Mando and Billy. However, at the end of the match, a member of the technical crew comes to the ring and delivers flowers to Sherri, which destabilizes Billy a bit. While Mando is able to benefit from Billy being distracted, eventually the British veteran turns the tide around and delivers the Butterfly Suplex to score the victory.

After the match, Billy Robinson & Sherri Martel are headed to the broadcast booth for an interview. But the interview quickly turns towards the flowers that Sherri just received. Sherri opens the card in which many compliments are written and the card is signed "B.R."...Sherri is obviously thrilled that Billy showed much attention to her and hugs him before leaving with the flowers. While asked about it, Billy Robinson denies that he sent Sherri the flowers and things are strictly business between them.

-Up next, "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal battles Shawn Michaels from the Midnight Rockers. Regal is surfing on a big tide, coming off some really impressive performances. This match is going at a higher pace than the preceding match, which makes for some exciting action. Michaels goes for the victory after going for a 2nd rope fist drop but Michaels missed and Regal rolls up Michaels in La Magistral to score another victory, this time over the former 2-time NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champion! Postmatch, Steve Regal and Shawn Michaels shake hands, but we can clearly see that Michaels isn't happy about the match.

-Before the main event, Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier plugs next week's main event as Super Strong Machine will be defending the NWA Canadian International TV Championship against "Hangman" Bobby Jaggers!

-Main event time as Raymond Rougeau battles Alexis Smirnoff. The broadcast team reminds us the stakes of the match: if Raymond Rougeau loses, he leaves Lutte Internationale; if Alexis Smirnoff loses, he reverts back to his Michel "Justice" Dubois character and forsakes the Soviet flag. Lots of emotion going into this match by both wrestlers who realize that it's do or die. Another highly contested match but the broadcast team reminds us that we're getting closer to the TV time limit as we're about to off-air. Naturally, Boris Zhukov tries to get involved but the NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Jacques Rougeau comes to the aid of his brother and neutralizes Zhukov outside. We're down to the last minute of the match and Smirnoff almost scores the victory with a backbreaker. Down to 30 seconds and Smirnoff decides to go with his version of the infamous Russian Sickle, so efficient to many of Smirnoff's "comrades" but Raymond dodges and hits his Savate Kick with about 5 seconds left! Raymond drags himself on Smirnof....1....2.....DING! DING! DING! The time limit has expired! Looks like everyone stays put but the Bolsheviks don't take this very well and they come back in the ring to assault Raymond. Doesn't take long for Jacques to return, this time, along with little brother Armand. The Rougeaus clean house with the Bolsheviks! Jacques Rougeau goes to the broadcast booth and says that last week, Black Bart from World Class Championship Wrestling called him out and said he would take the title away from him. Jacques Rougeau says he never feared anyone and the Rougeaus never feared anyone. Jacques says that he's willing to go to Dallas himself to defend the title against Black Bart and he upps the ante by saying that he'll avenge his loss to Big John Studd as well by beating him if he has the guts! All that needs to be done is for Fritz Von Erich to call the NWA Lutte Internationale office to set it up and they've got themselves a match! The show ends with the Rougeaus celebrating together at the broadcast booth.

Always appreciate Lutte and what you bring to the table in what is a land of many national promotions. You shine with the simplicity and unpredictability of a great mixture of home grown stars and some really good loans with your NWA relationship. I also love to see the Women on the show and you continue to put them on a stage to show their worth. With some World Class stuff coming in, it is only going to get better.

Enjoy all the match ups from those shows but I am unsure if Baron Von Raschke could entertain us for 59:55. I read one of your responses once about how you used TEW to help with your outcomes and was wondering if this gives you some of your times that you post. I have never played TEW so I am unsure how it works. I was thinking of using Pre Wrestling Superstars from the 1980's but nervous that it would handcuff me with some strange outcomes.

Yeah, I might go a tad overboard sometimes. This one with Von Raschke was more for drama effect with the time limit and such. I'm working on fixing that haha

TEW is a lot of micromanagement, especially for the cards. You can control everything in your card: match times, outside interferences, referees, road agents, etc. So, this very much limits the strange undesirable outcomes you could have. The only thing that you have no control on are injuries and random incidents like people working on drugs and alcohol. This will affect the quality of matches. Pro Wrestling Superstars pretty much go move by move, similar to the Filsinger Games while TEW only generates results. TEW gives you a better overall feel of the wrestling business in its whole while Pro Wrestling Superstars basically limits itself to plain straight booking. I'd say that EWR is a mix of PWS and TEW.

But again, it depends on what you like. LowBlow recommended that game to me and I've been hooked ever since I started with TEW 2005 and bought the 2016 last year. If you wanna keep things simple, go with EWR or PWS.

NWA Lutte Internationale TV

Taped at CHLT-TV Studios, Sherbrooke, QC

Broadcasted October 19th, 1985

dieu.jpg220px-Nwalogobw.jpg

(After the opening credits, we go to the broadcast booth where Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier are waiting to start the show)

Guy Hauray: Good morning everyone and welcome to NWA Lutte Internationale TV. We’re gonna have some great action as our feature bout as the NWA demanded for Super Strong Machine to defend the NWA Canadian International TV Championship this week on TV, despite the fact that the champion wanted to remain in Japan and have the contender to be flown in instead, going forward. And to make sure that there are no shenanigans from his fellow Machines this week, the National Wrestling Alliance appointed Bruno Sammartino as the special guest referee for this one.

Édouard Carpentier: We know that the last time Bruno was involved physically in some capacity, there was a lot of controversy. The NWA was forced to remove Bruno from an event a few weeks ago in Calgary because of his actions the night before, allowing his son David’s team to get the victory over our Lutte All-Stars. This is a big opportunity for Bruno to redeem himself and put all of this behind him.

Guy Hauray: In any event, Super Strong Machine’s opponent will be “Hangman” Bobby Jaggers from the Sensationals. Speaking of which, Eddie, quite a mystery last week as Sherri Martel received flowers from a secret admirer. And judging by the initials on the card, Sherri believes that Billy Robinson is behind it.

Édouard Carpentier: And yet, Billy was shocked about this and it doesn’t look it’s him. I don’t know if he’s playing coy to fool Sherri a bit but should we have further developments this week, we could be in for a surprise again this week.

Guy Hauray: We shall see but up first, Hillbilly Jim & Jimmy Snuka are in tag team action to kick us off!

Match #1

Hillbilly Jim & Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka vs Jayden Watt & Garth Madison

The broadcast team hypes that this is their first TV outing in Lutte, and it looks like they could be a tag team going forward. Nevertheless, the two veterans are gelling pretty good and poor Watt & Madison don’t stand a chance against them. The end comes as Hillbilly Jim press slams Garth Madison and this is followed by a Superfly Splash from Jimmy Snuka to score the pinfall victory.

Winners: Hillbilly Jim & Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka

After the match, Hillbilly Jim & Jimmy Snuka are headed to the broadcast booth for an interview

Guy Hauray: Alright, guys, congratulations for a first successful outing. And I must say that when we’re used to see teams like the Sheepherders or The Creatchman Family, it is refreshing to see teams like you two just go out there and having fun.

Hillbilly Jim: Yee-haw! Well, sir, this is exactly what we’re all about. This is what this business is all about. It’s about go out there and put on a show for the fans out there. Now, it’s all fine and well but don’t let our attitude fool you. We can be as mean as they come when it comes down to winning matches. We know about the Creatchmans and how they put together a stable of mean men and the old Brain might even have Abdullah the Butcher in his back pocket when he wants to. But I can assure you that there’ll be a time where if the Creatchmans cross paths with us, we’re gonna be ready for them and we’re not scared of them. Isn’t it right, Supafly?

Jimmy Snuka: OH BRUDDA! The Supafly has never feared anyone! ANYONE! I was born ready for battle and the Supafly has seen a lot of bad bad men in his day. We have heard a lot about how mean and dangerous the Creatchman Family is. But Jim and I are as hungry as they are. In fact, brudda, we’re STARVING. Do you know how dangerous somebody starving really is, brudda? So, this goes to the Botswana Beast and the Lord Humongous. You may be big, you may be bad, you may have the Creatchmans but we are hungry and we want something that is yours. We’re not afraid of you. We’re not afraid of the beasts, brudda! Bring it on!

(Hillbilly Jim and Jimmy Snuka leave the broadcast booth together)

Guy Hauray: Well, it doesn’t look like Hillbilly Jim and Superfly are intimidated at all. Right from the start, they look to be gunning after the Creatchmans!

Édouard Carpentier: Well, when you are the NWA World Tag Team Champions, you have a big bullseye on your back. Here in the NWA, the Rougeaus want their title back, the Midnight Rockers want those titles. In Mid-Atlantic, the current NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champions The Vachons probably want those titles as well and perhaps the most dangerous opposition they could have, Ole & Arn Anderson, now managed by JJ Dillon. This couldn’t get any more exciting!

Guy Hauray: I’m sure that we’ll hear from the Creatchman Family sooner rather than later. Later on, we’ll hear from Sherri Martel and perhaps we’ll hear about that mysterious secret admirer. But when we come back, we’ll hear from the champion, Jacques Rougeau himself.

*****COMMERCIAL BREAK*****

Guy Hauray: Welcome back to Lutte TV. Please welcome the NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Jacques Rougeau!

(Jacques Rougeau comes out to a rousing ovation from the studio crowd.)

Guy Hauray: Obviously, Jacques, no one will deny that you’re a fighting champion since you’ve won the tournament last August to be the new NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion. This brought you to go represent the NWA and Lutte Internationale against some of the top talents in the world, namely from World Class Championship Wrestling . You’ve recently been pinned by Black Bart in Jupiter, Florida and he hasn’t stop mocking you since. He has even claimed that if you’re not scared of him, to come to World Class Championship Wrestling on October 25th to defend your title against him. What is your response?

(Translation : You know, Mr. Hauray, yeah, it’s true that things didn’t go our way when we wrestled in the United States and when the boys from Dallas came over here. I got nothing to say against Kevin Von Erich because under the same circumstances, Raymond and I had the best partner we could have. I’ll always have the utmost respect for the Von Erich family. Black Bart pinned me 1-2-3 in a tag match, yeah, that’s true. Big John Studd did the same thing in Edmonton in a 10-Men Tag. I won’t win them all. However, the thing that I’ll say is that big fat asses like Black Bart, Raymond and I we have seen a lot of ‘em in our lifetime. I’ll tell you something; Black Bart can mock me as much as he can but on October 25th, I’ll go in his backyard to shut him up once and for all. I told Mr. Fritz Von Erich it would be an honor for me to wrestle in Dallas one day and I’m a man of my word. And I’ll do you one better, Mr. Hauray. We’ll kill 2 birds with one stone. If Big John Studd also thinks that he can take the title away from me, I’m willing to stay in Texas an extra couple of days and defend my title. In fact, I’ll wrestle anybody from World Class. And I spoke to Raymond and he’s also interested into making the trip!)

Guy Hauray: Are you saying that you and Raymond are throwing an open challenge of your own IN Texas?

(Translation : Mr. Hauray, I’ve checked our schedule for the rest of the month and other than our tag match vs Chris Benoit & Steve Strong right here on TV next week, Raymond and I have a lot of free time so if Mr. Fritz Von Erich is OK with it, if there are people in Texas looking to fight the Rougeaus, we won’t be too hard to find!)

(Jacques returns to the back)

Guy Hauray: Well, Eddie, looks like Jacques Rougeau has accepted Black Bart’s challenge. He’ll wrestle him IN TEXAS on October 25 and he wants to wrestle anyone else from Texas until then.

Édouard Carpentier: Well, Jacques is right; his next scheduled title defense is on November 2 vs Hangman Bobby Jaggers but one may say that Jacques is being a bit careless. Let’s hope for him that he’ll be up to the task. But if Raymond tags along with him, fans in Dallas will be in for some major excitement.

Guy Hauray: We should have confirmation from World Class in the next couple of days. When we come back, before our main event, we’ll hear from Sherri Martel!

*******COMMERCIAL BREAK******

Guy Hauray: Welcome back to Lutte TV as we’re approaching main event time but before we do, please welcome Sherri Martel and her Sensationals.

(Sherri Martel walks to the set with the same flowers she received last week and both Billy Robinson and the #1 contender for the TV title, Hangman Bobby Jaggers behind her.)

Guy Hauray: First of all, Sherri, you look absolutely delighted today.

Sherri Martel: Of course, I am! Wouldn’t you be too if you’d receive flowers like I did last week? I mean, I always knew that my Sensationals appreciate me but I’m actually a bit speechless about this. I mean....Billy, you didn’t have to do this.

Billy Robinson: Sherri, I didn’t.

Sherri Martel: Oh, don’t be so humble, Billy. You don’t have to lie here. I love those flowers, those are my favourites.

Billy Robinson: But Sherri, I....

Sherri Martel: It’s OK, Billy, I know that you have a tough guy reputation in the UK and everything but really, women love caring men like you. Just say it, it’s OK.

Billy Robinson: I don’t know how else to tell you, Sherri. It wasn’t m...

Sherri Martel: You know what? That’s OK, no big deal. We’ll have more time to celebrate tonight after Bobby Jaggers is the new NWA Canadian International TV Champion! Let’s go Bobby, show ‘em how it’s done!

(Billy Robinson doesn’t have the time to place another word that Sherri drags him to ringside for the main event!)

MAIN EVENT

Match #2

NWA Canadian International TV Championship

Super Strong Machine © vs “Hangman” Bobby Jaggers (w/Sherri Martel & Billy Robinson)

The broadcast team is quick to notice that Super Strong Machine came alone; no trace of his fellow Strong Machines. They speculate if they have returned to Japan as well along with Super Strong Machine earlier. Either way, it’s a pretty rugged and highly-contested match the crowd in attendance is witnessing. And as expected, Sherri Martel gets involved as much as she can, especially since there seems to be no presence of the other Machines in sight. The challenger is about to turn the tide and it looks like Bobby Jaggers is on his way to win the title. However, a stagehand comes at ringside to deliver a box to Sherri Martel. Sherri opens it and it’s a box of chocolates. There’s a card going along with it and it’s only signed “ Love, B.R.” Sherri is once against convinced that it’s Billy Robinson and Robinson argues with Sherri that it isn’t him who sent her the box of chocolates. This distracts Jaggers long enough for Super Strong Machine to clock Jaggers from behind with the Machine Lariat! With Jaggers out cold – and Sherri too busy trying to hug a perplexed Billy Robinson – Super Strong Machine scores the pinfall victory over Bobby Jaggers. Super Strong Machine triumphantly exits the ring as Sherri and Robinson realize what just happened. This week’s show ends with all 3 Sensationals trying to make sense of what just happened with “Ace” Bob Orton coming in street clothes, to try calm down Bobby Jaggers after his mysterious and bizarre situation.

Winner and still champion: Super Strong Machine
