[2000-09-SCWA] Scorpio Sky vs Quicksilver

This is a cool look at these guys that are really young. This was worked like a young guys match. They threw a ton out there. Some looked good, some did not. Sky’s crossface submission was tight looking and overall I think the mat based submissions stuff worked better than the high flying exchanges. Both of these guys are individuals I don’t remember as ever being great at any point in their career so seeing them here in 2000 is a good basis of where they are at this point in their career. You can also tell both of these guys ran out of ideas around the 7 minute mark and were blown up and clinging for things to do after that. A double clothesline happens and the match cuts out to the next clip. I won’t give a rating because who knows how much was cut but this was a fun look in even if the action didn’t cohesively hold together to make a good match. NR

Although this is taking place at Billy Anderson’s Gym, the same venue that IWC operates out of, there is something very backyard and amateurish about it.  It’s like a couple of guys doing movez in front of a few friends in a wrestling ring.  Quicksilver snaps his neck on the middle rope when they’re too close to it on a sunset flip, while there is one ludicrous moment where Sky hits a ‘Rude Awakening’ neckbreaker but Silver keeps hold of him, stands up and goes straight into a rolling suplex sequence.  Scorpio lands a 450 splash at another point and that doesn’t even result in a pin attempt let alone it being the finish.  Talking of which, the actual finish is missing, the tape cutting to a different match after a double clothesline.  Both are clearly athletic and have potential but have a long way to go and need to go somewhere to hone that potential.
