Wyatt/Hardy feud looks like absolute shite. Good grief.

What?! What the hell are you talking about? This Woken Matt Hardy stuff is gold. Gold, Jerry. Gold! I think him working against Wyatt is perfect, since it was obvious that somebody on the WWE writing staff was blatantly stealing stuff from the Broken Universe with the Wyatt Compound and the whole Wyatt/Orton feud. (In order to cover up the fact that it was a rip-off, they cleverly disguised their thievery by, you know...taking out the parts that were entertaining and good. But still.)

I saw a rumor online today that this is leading to a fight between Bray and Matt at the Wyatt compound. Can you imagine what that will look like if Matt gets that kind of backdrop for his goofy antics. We may well see another dilapidated boat.

Maybe it's my utter disdain for Wyatt, maybe it's the months of not watching the product, but that did not appeal to me at all. What made the whole Broken Matt saga work for me is the B-movie charm, which is not something I believe WWE can pull off, considering how well produced their segments are, at least in comparison to TNA stuff. But let's see, maybe I just did not paid enough attention.

Also, marked out at Romand doing a fucking Magistral cradle. 3 years in a row of being the absolute best performer in the company.

What did you expect ? Broken Matt was fun because it was unique. It's not anymore, it's been done already and now it's in the hands of WWE writers and production people. Not to mention Woken kinda sounds stupid and trademarky. And then of course they have him feud with the most obvious and blatant shitty guy they can think of, who else but Bray Wyatt of course. It's like those old Taker feuds against shitty monsters he had to work against, because. The Wyatt stuff has consistently brought up the worse feuds and matches of 2017. I expect another chapter in the Wyatt "worst segment/match of the year" with this, complete with WWE redoing poorly what had been done elsewhere. Wait. They already have done that after the original Broken videos with the godawful Orton feud. So it's a redux of a poor copy, with the original guy not being so original anymore.

Kane. 2018. What else ?

My interest in the Rumble has taken a nosedive already. Give AJ a killer match like last year at least...

The opening angle with Joe & The Bar laying out The Shield was excellent. Solid mic work from Joe without forcing too much on the stick before getting to the action and heels using numbers to lay out the faces. This is exactly the type of heat they should build every week as it doesn't have week to week hot-shotting but is a low simmer as they continue to build Roman towards Mania. I still maintain that Roman needs a proper heel run if he's going to have any chance of getting over as a top face, but using The Shield to lock him in as a babyface right now and this slow build more than works for me even if not for the masses.

Still digging how they're positioning Absolution and did a better job this week letting Paige speak briefly rather than give the entire group too much time on the mic. Less is usually more here. There were some really rough spots in the match where Mickie came cartoonishly far from connecting with Mandy & Paige. Not sure who's fault that is and it probably doesn't matter but it stood out.

On the other hand, I didn't care for Braun/Kane at all and the prospect of a triple threat at the Rumble isn't remotely interesting.

That's all I've seen thus far, but looking forward to the Rollins/Sheamus and Reigns/Cesaro matches.

After watching the two Hardy-Wyatt promos from the last two week on Youtube: this whole thing needs King Curtis Iaukea talking (well, shouting rather) about bathing in the river Ganges and climbing the 7th pyramid. Alternatively Señor Benjamin and King Maxel would help as well.

In this post/meta/ironic era we're stuck into, if King Curtis would shout "Sullivaaaaaan my soooooon !" tomorrow on TV, people would actually praise it.

Damn. I just realized that Bray Wyatt was basically a modern Dungeon of Doom all by himself. Except not even funny because there's no Hogan to notice that they aren't any Hulkamaniacs here and that it's not hot. There's only Randy Orton bland ass doing Diamond Cutters on video maggots...

Bryan's all but said if he doesn't get cleared by the time his contract ends, he's leaving to go somewhere that will let him return to the ring (barring him getting a negative test result). WWE has to know he's got one foot out the door, it's odd they are doing an angle that seems to have him as the central focus. Do they think he'll stay if they make him the manager of the top heel group?

Nah, they know the only way he's staying is by letting him wrestle. Bryan has said WWE has been incredibly supportive of him during this whole process and know what he wants to do. There's still 9 more months until his contract expires so him getting a big angle right now isn't that shocking, specially when we are heading into Mania season. If this was July 2018 I'd be more surprised.

If does lead to him wrestling I really hope this isn't leading toward Bryan vs Shane at Wrestlemania. I would like his first match back not be against someone who has no clue where his punches and kicks are going. At least you knew with Shemaus that you were going to get hit hard and when.

So apparently the WWE and the Facebook are going to work together and create a "Mixed Match Challenge" which is a tournament featuring mixed tag team tournament with winning getting $100,000 for the team charity of choose. Don't think they have announced any teams. Interesting concept

I'm digging the main event storyline on SD. I don't think it gets blown off on Sunday as yes this is clearly going all the way to mania. They could obvs. have Shane or Bryan turn but the wildcard might be an Orton turn. I don't want another Orton single main event run but him in a group with Owens and Sami might work out. He was most interesting he has been in while when he joined the Wyatts in late 2016/early 2017. I don't think they are going in that direction but I wouldn't be surprised

Maybe this is unfair but can it really be a coincidence that since the brand split, the worst show by far is always the one where Kevin Owens is pushed as the top heel?

Not unfair, really. The whole JeriKO -> New Face of America -> KO/Zayn storylines were a drag.

The highlight of KO's last two years was the Festival of Friendship segment, and that's it.

I love that the side effect of Brock not being around is a top tier group of the Sheild, The Bar, and Samoa Mother Fucking Joe tearing it up. RAW on Hulu was great.

And Im loving the Hardy/ Wyatt stuff. Its hilarious. Whats awesome about it is its Wyatts super serious, intense, professionally shot, crazy shit that even Im getting tired of; and its being countered by Matts wacky , goofy, fun, and apparently shot in front of a wrinkled pool tarp, stuff. Im loving it so far, and if youre tired of Bray this might be the beginning of the end of this version of Bray Wyatt. He seems even sillier when his foes responses are a guy mugging like Jerry Lewis having a stroke.

I'm assuming that they're gonna more than likely pair some real-life couples in the tournament like Rusev/Lana and Naomi/Jimmy Uso. And I'd be stunned if Enzo Amore & Nia Jax weren't paired together given the angle that started last week.

Other than that, I'm also intrigued to see who's gonna win it. I saw that Braun Strowman is in the tournament. Could you imagine a team of Braun & Asuka?

Finally got to Roman/Cesaro. Another in a string of great TV matches for Reigns. Cesaro's offense really stood out here (as it did for Sheamus against Rollins earlier in the night), but I think I preferred the Jason Jordan match from last week. It stood out as having and more consistent selling, along with perhaps preferring the transitions and near falls on that night. Any night where we get a pair of matches like Rollins/Sheamus and Roman/Cesaro is a good one.
