Will be interesting to see what the winner gets, or if it will be for "bragging rights" or something like that. It is a week before backlash so I can't imagine that it would be for a title shot there as that gives them one show to prepare while summerslam seems to far away, maybe for money in the bank or whatever other shows are in that period?

Edit: the king Abdullah sports city is apparently a new 60,000 seat stadium which would make this show the second biggest (in terms of attendance) show of the year.

My mind keeps circling around jokes having to do with an all-male audience, but I'm just not landing.

Any wrestler who worked NXT will be used to it. (There, that's one.)

What about them doing a women's Royal Rumble instead ? I mean, they're all about #womensEvolution and shit...

There are so many unfunny (and offending) jokes you could make about that story. How about a women's rumble where all contestants have to wear a burqa? How about a wrestler trying to steal a title belt and having a hand chopped off as punishment? How about a wrestler stealing a valet from another wrestler and that valet getting stoned to death for it?

I really long for the days where the world is not depending on fossile fuel anymore and can just say "fuck you" to such countries (disregarding the fact that King Salman took some very basic first steps in a not completely wrong direction) and just wait for the regimes to tremble.

Greatest Royal Rumble ever would have to be 1990. Not one person was out of place in that.

Every other one has been filled with tag teams who looked obvious they arent winning. Yes 1990 had POP but their size looked like they could win.

And the Demos, and the Hart Foundation, and the Rockers. I'll be generous and not count the Colossal Connection since that was two thrown-together singles guys.

'92 had zero full tag teams in it, with Knobbs being injured and the Rockers splitting up and Jannetty leaving. Smart move since the title was on the line.

Im content with Rockers/Harts cos HBK/Hitman became future world champs.

Plus it was awesome when Demolition eliminated Andre.

The one in '92 also had no superheavyweights like Andre or Earthquake, guys who were being pushed as certain to win because they were so huge. That evened things up to where you could potentially think anyone would win. I think 90, 91 and 92 are the best Rumbles ever with a few that came later that were as good. I really liked the 2002 one.

The first fifteen minutes or so of the 1990 Rumble are pretty great because the heat is sky high and Piper, DiBiase, Savage and Jake (there were others, but mainly those four) carried the shit out of it.

The booking of the '92 Rumble is really great, with Flair/Davey Boy being the meat of the first half, all the heavy hitters being saved for the second half, and that brief little Flair/Piper mini-match in the middle that I actually thought was the best part of the whole thing. Plus Heenan does the best commentary job there's ever been for an hour straight.

As a kid I hated the 92 Rumble match because of how Tunney screwed Hogan from Tuesday In Texas. I would have preferred Hogan to win for a 3rd time.

1990 had some interesting cofrontations from Jake/Dibiase, Brown/Piper to Hogan/Warrior.

The best thing was everybody teamed up to eliminate Quake which is something you rarely saw happen with a big guy in the early ones. It made it look realistic as it's hard to believe one guy could eliminate a 400+ pound monster all by himself.
