  1. Having long heard of the Kobashi/Kikuchi vs Can-Ams but having never seen it im even more anxious now loss if you say that this doesnt compare to that tag. I think this was pretty great and thought each man looked real good. The Can-Ams opening offensive flurry was really impressive.
  2. Agree with everything said here. Only possible complaint was I was left wanting more time for the match. But what they did with the time they had was tremendous.
  3. This maybe my favorite match so far of the set. Maybe not the best persay but by far the most fun. This was my first time seeing this and its just a tremendous display of everything good and fun about wrestling. Over faces, strong heels, a hot crowd this has it all. The talent level on display so far in wcw is really amazing and its a shame that the d.a. was broken up soon after this when Watts came in.
  4. This is a hard match to rate. Growing up as a wwf fan your almost conditioned to consider this the greatest rumble of all time. While its still a contender I'm not sure if if it still hits that mark. Flairs performance is great and it does a long way to getting him over with the northeast fans but it stills feel incomplete. As good as Heenan was on the mic you almost stilll wish Flairs history wits guys such as Valentine and Kerry was brought up but you know you're not getting that from the wwf.
  5. I think this match is a good testament to how good Bret actually is. We all know early Undertaker isnt the easiest to watch but Bret drags a good match out of him. Watching this its not hard to see why the title went on him 10 months later.
  6. First time seeing this and its a great match. Love Hansen doing all he can to put Jumbo away at the end.
  7. Totally agree, Flair was certainly the mvp but Piper was clearly 1A for the night. Flair being alone in the ring as the buzzer goes off and Piper enters is one of the best booked moments in rumble history.
  8. As a match this pretty much nothing but the post match celebration is legitmately a great feel good moment. Piper seems genuinely happy to have won his first title in the wwf and the crowd response as the announcement is made is one of my favorite wwf moments. It comes across as a real nice thank you to Piper for his work in that era.
  9. One of the best wwf angles of the 90s and something that resonates with an entire generation of fans who grew up on it. This was a helluva jump start to Shawns single push and the only thing missing was a true feud with Jannetty. Though we can probably blame that on his personal problems unfortunately.
  10. Its just a weird sight to see when you think about it and make the comparison. Looking at it as a whole, a lot of people enjoy Flairs 92 wwf run and for a pretty good reason but the contrast between nwa/wcw Flair and wwf Flair is pretty wide. Just going back two years to the famous 89 run he had is almost night and day character wise and in ring wise in my opinion.
  11. Agreed that its definitely a good 'Ric Flair' promo . However the thing I took from it the most is the difference between suit wearing, limousine riding Flair and wwf flair wearing the robe and looking more like a sports entertainer.
  12. Not a ton to add here, a very good match as expected considering the talent involved. One thing that pleasantly surprised me, given his rep and from what I've personally seen was Ogawa's performance. I thought he looked quite good.
  13. Having never seen any uswa before this was brand new to me and from the amount shown this was all good. A bloody brawl with great babyface fire from Jarret and Fuller.
  14. Really good match. Dustin and Arn both turn in great performances. Loved the limb work, the selling, the near falls, and the finishing run-n brawl. I thought Ross was pretty good on commentary. Specifically his mention of the Dusty and Arn rivalry and his idea of the D.A. attempting to injure Dustin so he'd have to vacate the tag titles. Not sure I'd rank this with the upper echelon of 92 wcw singles buts its still damn good.
  15. Excellent interview, in particular Paul E's part with the referencing of Magnum. This does a great job building anticipation for Rude/Sting and Rude/Steamboat.
