  1. I've gone Rhodes vs Wyatts although I really liked the six-man, with Fuego standing out for me, and I thought the strap match was good as well. The finish was a bit anti-climatic in it, though.
  2. If your home over Feburary half term we're in the Stiwt on the 25th. Cheers for letting me know - annoyingly, my half-term is the week before Wales's!
  3. I think I've watched less wrestling than pretty much anyone else on here - I was a WWF/WCW fan in the late 90s, got back into it once or twice over the years, and picked up some stuff about 18 months ago but didn't get round to watching much of it due to job issues, problems with my DVD player, and moving house and stuff. In particular, I've never really tried anything outside the US/UK scene. So mine are going to seem ridiculously low compared to everyone else's, but here goes. 1. Finish the Four Horsemen set. (I have discs 13 onwards to watch.) 2. Watch at least one match a day, 5 days a week. 3. Watch at least one lucha match every 2 weeks. 4. Watch at least one puro match every 2 weeks. 5. Follow current stuff more closely. 6. Post more. 7. Get some yearbooks. And possibly an 80s set. 8. Get to a couple of live shows. (Living near London should mean I could go to loads but somehow not getting around to it.) Happy New Year, everyone!
  4. How about some sort of points system? 5 for a win, 3 for a draw, 1 for a loss.

  8. My list of blind spots is huge, although trying to correct it a little at a time. In particular have barely seen any lucha, puro or joshi.
  9. Argh... I've just ordered some other stuff but starting to wish I'd gone for this yearbook JUST for this match. Another of my first memories from when I was getting into wrestling and I remember the finish being absolutely awesome. Great stuff, and I'll definitely be picking this one up soon!
  10. I remember as an 11 year old kid just getting into wrestling, and a big mark for Scott Steiner in those days, this match had me absolutely furious. I think it was maybe the first big screwjob ending I'd seen in a match involving anyone I actually cared about, and it obviously left a mark as I can remember it fairly vividly even now.
  11. Too late for suggestions? From what I remember Bret Hart vs Hakushi at In Your House #1 (5/14/1995) was really good, featuring a lot of high flying stuff that was pretty new to the WWF at that point. Admittedly it's been a long time since I've seen it so it may be a case of me overrating it in the past but thought I'd throw it out there.
  12. As a massive fan of Action Zone how about Bret vs Owen in the first ever main event on 10/23/94? I haven't seen it for some years but from memory it was a good match as well as the historical interest. (Okay, first main event of AZ is REALLY pushing it for a 'historical interest' claim.) Would also definitely 2nd the 'kicked your leg out from under your leg' Owen interview and the awesome Kliq tag.
  13. (WARNING: Spoilers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 be here! And probably for every other HP book/film in passing.) Well, Deathly Hallows Part 2 is in the books, and while the Harry Potter vs Lord Voldemort showdown featured something of a Dusty finish - seriously, has anyone worked out the exact lineage of the Elder Wand title? As best as I can tell, the Snape win over Dumbledore has been ejected from the record books - the big story of this epic PPV was the super-push of perennial lower midcarder Neville Longbottom. While in prior shows, Big Nev has held something of a lovable loser role, even jobbing to Harry himself in a throwaway bout prior to Harry vs Quirrell in the main event of the first ever HP show, this was the night in which he came into his own. Cementing his place as the leader of the Dumbledore's Army stable, he not only took the Sword of Gryffindor title, he defeated the monster Nagini, and even got the girl as Luna Lovegood was finally won over by his charms - a major career resurgence for him! Elsewhere on the card, Draco Malfoy appears to have been lost in the shuffle - the formerly hot heel was last seen running away as the forces of the Death Eaters were comprehensively beaten; Ron Weasley and Hermione Grainger appear to be lining up for wrestling's latest wedding, and Severus Snape pulled off an absolutely fantastic face turn after losing his retirement match to Voldemort. We also got a heartwarming moment as Molly Weasley jumped to her daughter's defence - who'd ever have thought she could defeat Bellatrix Lestrange, arguably the second biggest heel in the fed? - although the beatdowns suffered by fan favourites Nymphadora Tonks, Remus Lupin, and one of the Weasley twins cast a shadow on the show. Overall, from the opening handicap match as Harry, Ron and Hermione took on the Goblin Horde, to that finale, this was a pay-per-view well worth catching!
  14. Have now picked this up and would definitely agree with you, particularly on the Listers, Counihan and Schenider articles. Also thought the interview with Fit Finlay was interesting and I REALLY like their DVD reviews.
  15. With you here although haven't got this month's issue yet (is it just out in the last few days?) I picked up FSM a while ago and thought it was god-awful; gave it another try a few months back and could barely believe it was the same magazine. Lots of interesting articles, a couple of good pages about the UK scene, and decent variety in what's covered. Very impressed!
