  1. Probably. Saudi Arabia & Lebanon don't get along. Cass sucks and he's dangerously sloppy. So of course, let's book Daniel Bryan with him. The wrestling legacy of this shit-show will be Titus sliding under the ring. And Taker vs Rusev had a good match, 90% thanks to Rusev. Well, this card should win Worst major show of the Year & Most disgusting promotional tactic of the Year. It was awful. Oh fuck me, Vince parading with one of the Saudis.... Time to go vomit somewhere. In two weeks : back to business : Women's Evolution and shit. Fuck off. Change happens inside communities. Black communities and the world around them changed by black folks doing activism. Feminism was started by women, for women. It's by empowering Saudi Arabia women that change can happen for the better. It won't happen if some Trump supporters or centrist "social" liberals pretend to care for a couple of seconds about women to justify their Islamophobia. It's a small step, with flaws, but it's a step. It has nothing to do with the women's revolution in WWE. As for being a show for the marks, that's exactly what the perfect wrestling card was, and always will be. Because wrestling ultimately is for marks. As for this show being in some "journalist" list, we won't lose any sleep over it.
  2. Not a Russo fan, but this is absolutely insane. Cornette made a career in the last decade of threatening to kill Vince Russo, on shoots, podcasts and interviews, and a tweet from a "fan" gets Russo thrown off?

    NXT talk

One of the best NXT episodes in a while. Everything was great, loved every second.
  4. When you get trapped in your own bubble, you lose some social awareness. It's not appropriate, and it doesn't fit the image of the man who hasn't done a negative criticism of anything related to New Japan for the last years.
  5. dawho5 Should I make an additional review for that first entrance? Crazy stuff. Ok so this is my first Toryumon match, I recognize a couple of the guys from Dragon Gate, mostly from the infamous ROH match, and some DG events I saw around that time. I was going to do a play on play, but forget about it. Just complete CHAOS from the beginning, oh my god this is insane and super funt. Everything looks great, crowd is hot and into this the whole time. I literally screamed when the guy asked for everyone to get in the ring for a chop contest. Great comedy spots as well. They were doing the popular acts in modern indie wrestling, only 15 years ago. Mind blowing. Man! I need a minute to breath. My suggestion to you is a personal favorite, from a fun event and with a small but super hot crowd: Hotstuff Hernandez vs Low Ki, from IWA-Deep South https://vk.com/video3778960_165198973
  6. Martha Villalobos & La Diabolica vs. Selene & Vicky Carranza (Arena Mexico, 10/6/1989) Womens wrestling from the 80? And not Joshi? AND in Mexico? Exactly the type of thing I was expecting from participating in this thread. Martha Villalobos steals the show from the beginning and the crowd loves it. We get some drama between the rudos in the middle to spice things up and a couple of good looking spots from Selene using the ropes. Great, chaotic finisher. Really had fun watching this, I was expecting some obscure Volk Han match from you to be honest! shodate, I'm going to give you a Sara del Rey match:
  7. I'll add some thoughts later, specially about Brock-Roman, but I'll just want to let go out of my chest how great Ronda was.
  8. Had some trouble accessing the board during the week, and this weekend has been wrestling heavy but tomorrow I'll give the review and match. Sorry for the delay.
  9. It happened to me as well. People forget Cody isn't the same as the guy in the WWE low-card anymore. He gets *it* now. I was so impressed by his match with Flip, he did something I miss so much in pro-wrestling. Delaying the start of the match to play with the crowd, or mess with the referee. It really adds a layer to the match.
  10. Masanobu Fuchi/Naoki Sano vs. Johnny Smith/The Tornado A very different match from the typical All Japan style, indeed. It's from 97, but it wouldn't look out of place in 85. We get a nice exchange of chain wrestling between Fuchi and Smith at the beginning, reminding me of shoot style. Sano did some lovely armbar sequences, and something unique and clever: an irish-whip into an armlock (sort of). We get some kicks going, and from there the build to the finish, with some mean backdrops from Sano after a nice failed powerbomb attempt spot. This was probably an opener/mid card in the show but very much worth the watch, specially me not being familiar with most of the guys here. Good stuff.
  11. Like I imagined, Dave gave the 5 stars to the Evolved main event.
  12. People were dying to cheer Ronda, you couldn't book her like Shayna. Well, if they continue writing for her like that it might change. I don't understand how can you screw something so simple. People want to see an ass-kicker. I liked the initial segment on Fastlane, she looked real, it wasn't even a promo, and she came out like a genuinely nice person. Then we have the whole Kurt deal with Hunter and Steph. Perfect. But then you book her in weird situations and spots that don't play to her strengths, and the awkward exchanges of locking the arm... it just made me lose enthusiasm in perhaps the only MMA figher I ever cared about. When she did that takedown, it was a different story. Beautiful: do that, armbar, and then have Kurt raise your hand.

EC3 had fantastic interactions with the crowd. "Of course I deserve it". People went insane.
  14. Here's his reply to that question https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/1xmixr/ama_mike_quackenbush/cfcnkvv/
  15. I'm not American so correct me if I'm wrong but there's the tradition of Dallas crowds being less smark - or in other words, better crowds. Roman still represents establishment to those people, he will have a mixed reaction forever unless they do something drastic. And turning heel Roman is a move years in the making, specially since they never did that with Cena. It's been too long without a proper turn in WWE.
