    Wrestlemania 34

If I know this company like I think I do, I fully expect The Miz to interrupt whatever mopey promo Roman is cutting tomorrow and give him a verbal kick to balls to remember.
  2. This is an amazing thread you guys have put together here. Someone ask a question that requires a bit of historical and cultural context. Jetlag does a stellar job setting the right tone. It immediately gets ignored in favor of prodding JvK's "because lucha mostly sucks" comment. Eventually the rest of the thread turns into a lucha grievance party all while torpedoing any attempts at answering the question in the topic title.
  3. Where was I say "Loss, you are projecting"? I was speaking in generalities until he responded to me directly. God this goofy white boy drama.
  4. Ugh. Thank you for reminding me why I was so hesitant to sign up for this dumb fucking board to begin with.
  5. Fair enough, but if that's the case I don't think you've done a great job explaining why it is such a smart, great match.
  6. Cena/Owens seems like a clear cut case of people projecting their emotional investments onto a match to make it seems smarter and better than it actually was. I made similar complaints about some prominent New Japan matches in the past few years--I'm certainly guilty of it myself---but it's never worse than when we're talking about WWE. Everyone is so eager to see their favorites prosper there.
  7. Count me in as one of the people who wasn't a big fan of Cena/Owens. As far as MOVEZ matches go, I thought Puma/Hernandez from Lucha Underground was much better.
  8. The death match wasn't on the same level as the casket match, but overall it was probably the best show they've put on match-wise.
  9. I recommend checking out MVP's twitter. He is furious about this.

Why the fuck does this guy keep bringing up minis? If you're going to use minis as an apt comparison then it should be within the context of CMLL or AAA, not WWE where they just have Torito and Hornswoggle.
  11. I don't see how they can stay on digital cable unless they score a deal with the Filipino channel or some shit. Staying alive is going to require some creative thinking, which probably means they're toast.
  12. I am surprised by how little I use this thing considering I would have killed to have it three or four years ago. I think the only two times I've used it this month were for the Cinco de Mayo playlist and Payback. (And honestly, the playlist felt closer to a $40 value than the PPV). I just wish they would do something to throw the diehards a bone every now and again. If they were doing new Legends of Wrestling roundtables every month, I would have no problem letting this come out of my bank account. Right now, I have no incentive to renew.
  13. I think Classics on Demand was kind of a passion project by some of the people who work there, where as the Network is the crown jewel of Vince's empire. They decided they want to live or die on original programming even if means the original programming is a bunch of shitty shoe string budget productions.
  14. After catching up a little bit, I'm starting to think that the commentary crew isn't getting the credit they deserve. I like how UFC-esque it is with both guys focusing on the action at hand and not on teasing upcoming segments or putting over their own awful banter at the expense of the match. They're easily the least obnoxious team of any American promotions I watch.
  15. No, I was just saying that I used to post on his board. That was a neat project, but I don't recall participating in it. It did get me to check out a couple of great matches I never heard of before.
