That was an awesome post, Dylan. Excellent way to put things into perspective. As for me, when I got the Flair WWE DVD set I was hooked to the late 80s stuff from the NWA. When the second 3 disc set came out, I picked it up quickly because I knew the GAB Flair/Funk match was on there and I just had to see it. I was definitely not disappointed.

That chop was always one that just made me laugh, especially with the posing and the Punjab yell.

These shows just sound awful. I am glad you can see the cracks of light through the seemingly endless piles of garbage that kept showing up. It seems like it just kept going and going...yet somehow it can get even worse. I actually used to enjoy watching the Fox Sports show when it was on because I could watch it at 4PM while I was at work. That is where I got my first exposure to AJ, Abyss, AMW, and even people or teams that don't start with "A."

Glad to see things are hopefully starting to turn around. Wishing the best for your future and continue to enjoy everything you can in life. Like everyone has said in other threads, wrestling is an amazing escape. Where else can you get a full story told in anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes....then get to hear other people's opinions on it in podcast form? Continue to whip the cancer with LARIATOOOO after LARIATOOOOO! ...or even more fun, use the Jake Roberts Shortarm Clothesline so it never gets too far out of reach.

That was absolutely well-said. That basically echoes my sentiments. Knowing what I know and even where I put him, it still puts a stake in my gut having the knowledge of what happened in June of 07. But for some reason, far from being heartless or uncaring, antisocial or trying to put him on a pedestal, I still ranked him where I did. I know I will probably get a lot of flack for it. It's not #1 but I know it's in the top 10 because it helped shaped a 15-16 year old to continue watching. That day in June of 2007 did strike a chord with me....I went away from being a die-hard observer to being a casual follower in a matter of just a day. I'm rambling now, but just seeing where people stand is a very interesting point of discussion.

Just one thing..you put in Fuchi's listing that his match vs Masa Fuchi was a great match. I mean, I have heard wrestling yourself before but that's a little intense!

I gotta give the impression nod to Justin. I have tried to listen to a couple of the Lapsed Fan shows and I just find it extremely hard to concentrate on it for too long before I am starting to mentally wander off somewhere else. Maybe it's the length or the jumping around of content that I have heard, but it is extremely difficult to try to listen and then stop OR listen in one sitting.

I am a huge Kerry advocate... about 1/3 great match theory; 1/3 charisma and 1/3 Texas. I may or may not have been his high voter in 206. *sigh* Nope. I don't know if it's me, but he definitely broke my top 100...if not top 80.

Kobashi hands down (pun intended) is one of the top choppers if only for the Samoa Joe match when Joe's chest just turns to....something. It's something along the lines of undone prime rib and ground beef.

I can say I ranked him and ranked him highly. Though it did screw up my wrestling fandom for a while, I am able to look at his work and find out how much I could get into his matches. The first 7 years of my love of wrestling was based off of his matches so I have to say that maybe it didn't change as much for me as I thought it would.

I mainly took the ones that I could see myself calling "The greatest wrestlers ever" and organizing them as such. I mean there might have been 20 more that would have been possible on my list at most, and I attribute that to not seeing as much as some of you others. So in other words, a lot of my favorites are on that list and my way of organizing them was through the simple question....How much do I enjoy them and how much do I enjoy Wrester X in comparison?
