  1. Well, I guess this means she won't be in WWE's women's tournament (which was what I thought was the reason she was leaving JWP, but I should've known better to think WWE had eyes on Joshi that wasn't STARDOM). It's nice that she'll be in a promotion that does get TV tapings, but she deserves way more exposure, even though there is quite a bit of talent coming through SEAdLINNNG at the moment.
  2. Any reason why they're bowing to each other aside from showing respect? Can't wait for this match, it should be an easy MOTY candidate.
  3. Arisa is my favourite Joshi wrestler from the current generation so I'm pretty excited to see what's in store for her coming next year. With Io and Hojo leaving STARDOM she'd make a great replacement for the void they'd leave. Is it possible that WWE is interested in her as well, especially with the rumored women's tournament in the works? Worst case scenario is that just ends up working Nanae's promotion full time but even that's a step up from her current situation in JWP since their shows actually get aired on TV. I can't imagine she'll just end up bouncing around OZ, WAVE, Ice Ribbon, etc., hardly seems worth leaving her home promotion for that considering she was doing that anyway while she was with JWP. I feel the same way as I can't imagine her just leaving JWP to do the same bookings as she did before. The Seadlinnng thing is something I haven't even thought of. They are gonna have 7 Korakuen Hall shows in 2017 and looking at the claimed attendance numbers, they are not far off from Stardom. They draw roughly the same as JWP and smoke WAVE as WAVE has probably the lowest numbers at Korakuen for any wrestling promotion this year. Granted Nakajima wrestles on all of those shows anyway but it's something to think about. I would go with Stardom & WWE being the leaders if she truly a free agent. I can imagine that STARDOM may have offered her a contract upon Io and Kairi getting offers from WWE (plus the lure of wrestling on TV in the top Women's fed in Japan instead of your shows only being streamed via one camera on NicoNico) because they really need someone to carry the promotion and Iwatani isn't ready just yet. Or she very well could be WWE bound. Maybe the only way she had a shot at WWE/the women's tournament was leaving JWP because Bolshoi is very protective of their talent and restricts a lot of what they can do outside of their promotion and how they're booked. The only thing that seems off is that they're already getting Io and Kairi, would they really want a third Japanese female wrestler? I think she may just do the women's tournament and see what happens from there, maybe she'll get offered a contract along with other women like the Crusierweight Classic. I guess there will be another Joshi or two in the tournament since Io and Kairi won't be able to make it in time. Fujimoto and Shida maybe?

  5. Oh awesome, I can finally post on here! Been wanting to contribute to this thread for a while but my account remained in pending status for around a month. So I've been going back and watching a lot of stuff from Joshi's "dead" period, which was around from 2005 when both AJW and GAEA folded to 2011 when STARDOM was formed which has somewhat gotten the joshi scene back on its feet (emphasis on "somewhat"). 2005 was a pretty depressing year for the Joshi, with no real highlights at all. 2006 was where things started to pick up again, and there were definitely some gems to be had. 2007 was full of fantastic matches and my personal favorite year of the dead period. This is a work in progress, I've finished 2006 and almost finished going through 2007, and will get to work on the following years soon. Bolded are top tier matches and are a must-watch for that year. Italtics are second tier matches which are solid to really good matches but not quite on the same level as the bolded matches. The rest are notable matches from that year that were okay or ones that I personally didn't care for, but are still worth taking a look at, Maekawa vs Takahashi in particular since this was the last time the WWWA belt was defended as an active belt. 2006 Mayumi Ozaki, Chikayo Nagashima & Carlos Amano vs Manami Toyota, Meiko Satomura & Nanae Takahashi – Oz Academy 9/1/2006 Chikayo Nagashima vs Kaori Yoneyama – T-1 Grand Prix 23/2/2006 Carlos Amano vs Mika Nishio – Oz Academy 26/3/2006 Kumiko Maekawa © vs Nanae Takahashi – WWWA Title & Maekawa Retirement Match – Maekawa Produce 26/3/2006 Atsuko Emoto & Ayumi Kurihara vs Kyoko Kimura & Bambi – Ibuki 6/5/2006 Tsubasa Kuragaki © vs Manami Toyota – JWP Openweight Title – JWP 28/5/2006 Meiko Satomura vs Aja Kong – SENDAI 9/7/2006 Mariko Yoshida vs Kyoko Kimura – 2/3 Falls – Ibuki 16/7/2006 Yoshiko Tamura © vs Kayoko Haruyama – NEO Singles/NWA Women's Pacific Titles – NEO 17/7/2006 Manami Toyota, Mariko Yoshida, Kaoru Ito & Tomoko Watanabe vs Azumi Hyuga, Chikayo Nagashima, Carlos Amano & Tsubasa Kuragaki – Toyota Produce 6/8/2006 Manami Toyota vs Aja Kong – Toyota Produce 6/8/2006 Yoshiko Tamura © vs Chikayo Nagashima – NEO Singles/NWA Women's Pacific Titles – NEO 17/9/2006 Manami Toyota © vs Azumi Hyuga – JWP Openweight Title – JWP 18/9/2006 Ran Yu Yu & Toshie Uematsu © vs Tojuki Leon & Kaori Yoneyama – JWP Tag Team Titles – JWP 18/9/2006 Yoshiko Tamura © vs Mariko Yoshida – NEO Singles/NWA Women's Pacific Titles – NEO 3/11/2006 Meiko Satomura vs Mayumi Ozaki – SENDAI 11/11/2006 Meiko Satomura vs Kyoko Kimura – SENDAI 3/12/2006 Azumi Hyuga © vs Yoshiko Tamura © – JWP Openweight Title & NEO Singles/NWA Women's Pacific Titles – JWP 24/12/2006 2007 Mariko Yoshida vs Atsuko Emoto – Ibuki 28/1/2007 Yoshiko Tamura © vs Ayako Hamada – NEO Singles/NWA Women's Pacific Titles – NEO 18/2/2007 Azumi Hyuga & Meiko Satomura vs Nanae Takahashi & Misae Genki – NEO 18/2/2007 Yoshiko Tamura vs Ayumi Kurihara – NEO 10/3/2007 Azumi Hyuga & Arisa Nakajima vs Yoshiko Tamura & Ayumi Kurihara – Discover New Heroine Tournament Round 2 – JWP 15/4/2007 Yoshiko Tamura & Azumi Hyuga vs Ayumi Kurihara & Shu Shibutani – NEO 29/7/2007 Natsuki*Taiyo © vs Kyoko Kimura – World-1 Women’s Title – Pro Wrestling SUN 27/5/2007 Yoshiko Tamura © vs Emi Sakura – NEO Singles/NWA Women's Pacific Titles – NEO 3/5/2007 Haruka Matsuo vs Azumi Hyuga – NEO 5/5/2007 Meiko Satomura vs Manami Toyota – Battlefield WAR Tournament Round 2 – SENDAI 6/5/2007 Yoshiko Tamura vs Arisa Nakajima – NEO 27/5/2007 Chikayo Nagashima vs Sonoko Kato – Oz Academy 10/6/2007 Nanae Takahashi & Natsuki*Taiyo vs Azumi Hyuga & Kayoko Haruyama – Pro Wrestling SUN 12/7/2007 Misae Genki & Haruka Matsuo © vs Yoshiko Tamura & Emi Sakura – NEO Tag Team Titles – NEO 16/7/2007 Aja Kong vs Ayako Hamada – Battlefield WAR Tournament Semi-finals – SENDAI 22/7/2007 Meiko Satomura vs Ayako Hamada – Battlefield WAR Tournament Final – SENDAI 22/7/2007 Azumi Hyuga © vs Amazing Kong – JWP Openweight Title – JWP 26/08/2007 Ran Yu Yu & Toshie Uematsu vs Michiko Ohmukai & Yumi Ohka – WAVE 26/08/2007 Meiko Satomura, Chikayo Nagashima & Toshie Uematsu vs Sonoko Kato, Carlos Amano & Ran Yu Yu – Nagayo Produce 30/9/2007 Azumi Hyuga & Arisa Nakajima vs Meiko Satomura & Tyrannosaurus Okuda – SENDAI 5/10/2007 Nanae Takahashi vs Azumi Hyuga – Pro Wrestling SUN 7/10/2007 Ayako Hamada & Kaoru Ito © vs Yoshiko Tamura & Misae Genki – NEO Tag Team Titles – NEO 4/11/2007 Azumi Hyuga © vs Kaori Yoneyama – JWP Openweight Title – JWP 9/12/2007 Kayoko Haruyama & Tsubasa Kuragaki © vs Nanae Takahashi & Natsuki*Taiyo – JWP Tag Team Titles – JWP 9/12/2007 Commando Bolshoi vs Tojuki Leon – JWP 9/12/2007 Arisa Nakajima, Hiroyo Matsumoto, & Hanako Kobayashi vs Tyrannosaurus Okuda, Aya Yuki, & Aoi Kizuki – JWP 31/12/2007
