  1. I watched some of it and I guess it depends on what you enjoy. I went in hoping for something more along the lines of Progress but came out with something much lower in quality. With the ratings being half of what ITV internally projected its not likely this will air on ITV but still might have life on ITV2 down the road.
  2. Steve nervously tugged on his neck tie with all the subtlety of a hand grenade. With the sweat dampening his collar he looked around the dated motif in this deep southern office. As he looked around his mind went from wondering if it was hot in the office or if this was nerves. For that matter maybe they turned the heat up on purpose. Watch the interviewees squirm, some sort of sick appetizer before they got to the main course of verbally ripped unqualified guys like Steve apart in the meeting. How did he even know this was a serious interview? It could be Candid Camera or something similar. Those random, fleeting thoughts replaced with a shot of confidence. Looking around the outdated office this is why he was here. It was 1985 and the future was going to wait for no man. Television executive, or unemployed husband alike. Trying to calm the rapid fire shaking of his leg he glanced up to see a secretary all but staring at him. What a sight he must be. In a cheap shirt and tie he bought from Gayfers up the road just moments ago, to his profuse sweating, to possibly even muttering to himself. Why was he even here? He had a wife back home and they were living with her parents. Being young and married seemed like a good idea and deep down it was. Still though the point remained he moved down here to get that much talked about fresh start. People his age always seem to talk about after school and marriage this magical fresh start where they get their career, they get their home, their family and he wanted that. Now what any of that had to do with being in an outdated office in Dolthan, Alabama he didn't know. Pro wrestling? Really? Sure it was all over television but nobody was making a living at it as an outsider. He was about half the size of these monsters and didn’t have the hard edge they were known for. Now he’s at a television station, applying for a job as a wrestling executive for a promotion he wasn’t even aware was a legitimate business...and maybe still isn’t aware its a legitimate business. None the less this was his dream. Marketing, Advertising, Writing, Creative, leadership, everything he wanted in a job rolled up into one. Maybe it was too good to be true. Maybe he should stop chasing dreams and start making practical decisions. They say two thirds of marriages end in divorce now that we’re in the eighties. He had a feeling if he didn’t get steady employment soon he’d be adding to that number. He glanced at his digital Casio watch. It was only just after three if he left right now he could hand out resumes at the local offices in the area. He was already dressed for the part and this wasn’t going to work out for him. That was it, it was time for him to make something of his life. As he braced himself with his sweaty palms on the sturdy, cold, wooden arms of the chair as he rose out of the outdated, fashionable chair. “Mr. Stennick, sorry to keep you waiting but Mr. Woods is now ready to see you” Steve turned into the view of a smiling David Woods with his hand outstretched ready for a traditional greeting. Steve glanced at the door, and back at the unsuspecting David Woods. With that Steve walked with purpose towards David and towards his dream. To Be Continued...
  3. I'm one of the new promotions and I've been I thought pretty active considering I won't start until the new year. I've posted in here, I've posted in the free agency thread, I voted in the Japan thread, commented in the Japan thread. I've been crazy active
  4. I hope your surgery goes well or went well as it were.
  5. I always plan my main event angle first. I plot it out point by point until I arrive at its end date. Once I know when the big blowoff for that angle will be I work everything backwards from that angle. Its true that sometimes guys don't get pushed or aren't involved in angles. Usually what happens for me is the guys not involved in angles I keep them winning. I make sure to still feature them and feature them winning, talking them up so they are fresh in everyone's minds, they have a character and when its time to pull the trigger on an angle I can jump right into it without having to build this guy up who's not been seen in six months. If a guy is finishing up an angle and I don't have any plans for him there are always things like suspension and hospitalization to give them a story on the way out and put somebody or something over.
  6. I think it would be most fun for them if it was completely customizable but I see both viewpoints.
  7. I'm not sure how much I'm going to be around this weekend so I'd like to go ahead and say my picks for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are Tiger Conway Jr, George Wells and Jim Lancaster all as a jobber pack and that should conclude my free agency bid until the new year. If anybody was going to pick any of those guys up or I've mis spoke and someone has already taken one or all of them then by all means go ahead but if not those are my picks. Thanks
  8. Reading the Observer's around 96/97 he had a tryout with WCW and they had supposedly loved him but there was some sort of issue on bringing him in. I think it had to do with the promoters in Mexico doing business with different people in the states and since they held the rights to their contracts the guys could only work where they said or face either legal challenges or simply be blackballed from working Mexico which is where most of their living still came from. Or something along those lines it was a few years ago I read it. Either way I never knew about the guy until Los Boricuas..
  9. I've been picking up a lot of free agents really to round out some jobber packs (can never have too many jobbers). So I wanted to list my "official" roster as it stands now at what looks to be 43 spots taken up with plans to add one more jobber pack over the next few days. 10. CCW is bringing in Carl Fergie to put talent over around the region.
  11. CCW welcomes the veteran, solid hand Denny Brown. With a lot of youth on the roster the plan is for Denny to help put them over.
  12. Continental Championship Wrestling is bringing in Gene Ligon as another part of their experienced vets on the "job crew". Gene's a great guy and they are excited to have him work with everyone.
  13. Continental Championship Wrestling is bringing in Tony Parisi to put over the young talent on several tours in the new year. They like his veteran attitude and his ability to make just about anybody look good.
