  1. I remember rip Rodgers saying in relation to randy savage planning his matches out meticulous that in his experience working for the poffos he never saw that happen. He doesn't deny that the steamboat match probably was planned out like said, but it seems like one match has created a narrative that his whole career before and after that match was scripted to within an inch of its life. I mean I doubt the ric flair matches were scripted given flair didn't work like that.
  2. The last ride documentary of the undertaker first episode will premier after money in the bank and it's clear that the wrestlemania 33 match with Roman reigns was meant to be his last match but because it wasn't that good he kept going.
  3. You are of course correct. I was looking at met life and shea and got the two mixed up.
  4. Well wasn't the closing of Yankee stadium in the 1970's a case of if they didn't they'd lose it because it was an awful condition ? I consider there being only two Yankee stadiums. But anyway to answer the question, I mean they had MSG so maybe they didn't feel the need to run Yankee stadium and shea stadium was in New Jersey so they didn't see a need to run two venues in New York.
  5. I liked the Dr D episode and shockingly hulk has a complementary different recollection of an apparent incident that involved Mr T. Surely is a wrestler punched Mr T it would have been news. Any of the wrestling historians on this forum know if/when that LA show took place and if Dr D was on the card ? Maybe it's because I hate hogan and the person behind the character even more but I wouldn't believe hogan if he told me the sky was blue. Eddie Mansfield is trying to rewrite history. I think David Shultz is a bit rough around the edges but I get the impression he's not a bad guy. He's a bit crazy but not a bad person IMO.
  6. I actually rewatched the Von Erich episode over this weekend and while I have all the sympathy in the world for Kevin Von Erich for the fact he's able to keep going with his life after the amount of tragedy he's seen. Even at the end of the episode he couldn't admit his dad was anything less than a hero was bizarre because Fritz was anything but a hero or good person.
  7. Yes. That was one of if not the most uncomfortable things I've watched as a wrestling fan.
  8. Fritz Von Erich will always be up there for me. How the hell he thought it was okay to have his seriously ill son give a press conference in the state he was in is beyond me. That and other things in the sorry Von Erich story make me always think of fritz when this topic comes up.
  9. I was the same I wasn't sure how suited Arn would be to podcasts but how wrong I was. He's such a good storyteller and his choice makes you listen. The story about his career ending neck injury was just amazingly told and you forget even Arn Anderson isn't immune from pain.
  10. Was St. Louis a territory in the traditional sense though ? It was one city and I know there were shows at the Kiel auditorium and the wrestling at the chase TV tapings so it was hardly a huge slog.
  11. I felt tired reading that description of the weekly loop of the Amarillo territory.
  12. Oh thank god it wasn't just me then. I've watched the first match and the wargames cage is above the scaffold for the scaffold match and the order shows the two matches back to back. I wondered how it would work.
  13. We’ll according to Wikipedia it was assumed it wasn’t even recorded. Would this be the last event to even resemble AWA as we know it ? I know it officially shut down in 1991 but I’d assumed it was still going in name only for the last couple of years. That’s the impression I’d always had anyway.
