  1. Isn't it called Takeover The End, because it is the end of the Joe vs Balor feud?
  2. You really hate safe spaces huh?
  3. vedhead

    NXT talk

I think the Joe vs Ciampa match was a perfect example of someone making his lower on the card opponent look like a killer, while still maintaining his Monster aura. Just out of curiosity does Joe still do the Kawada kicks or have those gone by the wayside?
  4. I am not saying whether it is good or bad, but to say something isn't fresh when it hasn't been used in nearly 20 years, is weird to me.
  5. Yeah I don't post very often but Exile on Badstreet is by far my favourite wrestling podcast. Every episode has been great
  6. Where do they run in Toronto, because I was unaware of them? They run the Great Hall down on Queen St West. It is a really great venue
  7. Anyone from Toronto go to the past two Superkick'd shows? Really fun live events and they do a decent job of integrating locals with the names they bring in. Considering it's my first times seeing any sort of 'indy darling' style wrestling live, I really enjoy it
  8. Oh man I love this Bobby Bass talk, he was the wrestling lynchpin of my family, my mom still hates/loves him. I am SO STOKED for you to have him on the show. So cool. I will keep listening but this is awesome so far
  9. I posted last in this thread about the Maritimes episode and I've enjoyed all the episodes in between but this episode was terrific. I had a friend in school who moved from Quebec and definitely loved IW, which I always thought was absurd because the guys he said were in it, that I knew (specifically Dino) were not guys I could imagine liking. Stoked to get the book when it is released, and I hope we see more in depth territory discussion on future episodes.
  10. Hey sorry this took so long to reply, I just wanted to say that this was a terrific listen for someone who grew up watching Grand Prix (I am the same age as Lacelle, give or take a year or two) it is always interesting to hear about things you remember from childhood and how it stacks up now that you are an Adult. One thing that someone (forgive me for forgetting) mentioned that I think is pretty vital, is that the Maritimes maybe more so than most places really connects with the idea of the 'Local Boys'. I think that predilection towards supporting Hometown boys really did have something to do with the Cormier family's success. They were so successful and so clearly hometown boys that the natural urge to support our own really helped them. The fact that they were great workers helped too obviously or else it probably would have been a little less feverish (In the late Nineties reboot of Grand Prix The Beast was still getting good to great reactions [on PEI at least] even though he was extremely old looking and not really able to work much) So yes in closing on this rambling post this is a great podcast and deserves to be listened to big time. Oh also No Class Bobby Bass was still the best Mic worker I have ever seen live as of 2003. He is amazing.
  11. I never really post here, but as a Maritimer, and someone who grew up on this stuff, I am super stoked to hear this, I will report back after I finish it. ok cool
