Rock just killed him again on Raw, so I guess one bright side all the gay jokes will probably be forgotten if they keep this up.

And the live crowd was bored and visibly annoyed for most of it because he wasn't there. Great promo that essentially went to waste and may have been counterproductive in some respects. If they aren't careful they are going to turn Rock

Now see his promo on Miz and Riley was gay bashing. He's a G rated Axl Rotten at this point.

Wade Keller was thinking the same thing:

-Is it just me or is the crowd not responding much to John Cena's gay jokes? It's really sad that Cena keeps going there. Miz is the babyface here because he's coming across as secure enough to not worry about people perceiving he and Alex Riley as a couple because he knows it's not true, and as Colin Powell said about people saying President Obama "is a Muslim," first of all it's not true, and second of all so what if he actually were? Could Cena work any harder at firmly establishing he thinks being gay is one of the biggest insults one could throw at someone? Anytime someone is this obsessed with gay jokes, I always assume they're trying to deflect their shame or fear of being exposed for gay tendencies or activities in their past. Think of how many of those who protest the loudest against gays end up being outed often as living a secret lifestyle or having a secret past, such as the preachers and politicians who were exposed for their hypocrisy in that regard? Are people going to start thinking that about Cena (and/or those contributing to his promos)? Or is he just going to be seen as woefully out of touch with pop culture at this point and how passe this whole "they might be gay" approach is? How long before sponsors start feeling some heat for being part of this?

I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that Cena was out of touch with the crowd, given that there were pops for some of his gay jokes. Not overwhelming pops, but it wasn't like the crowd turned on Cena or were completely apathetic to the segment.

Cena does look like a gay porn actor though. Really, he would score big time in Le Marais in Paris.

Yeah, that may be why Cena overcompensates. A lot of the guys who were pushed mainly due to physique (like Warrior, Brock and Batista) seem to have that insecurity.

Probably because they are aware they could be big with gay audience. Hell if I was gay I would totally dig John Cena's physique.

And don't get me started me with Demolition or the Andersons.;)

Warrior also has the long-standing gay porn and escort rumors.

The line about Cena giving Rock a pearl necklace was um weird. Maybe Rock's supposed to be a tranny now? Except there was the requisite beating himself line. Either way that Cena is one confused dude and is still obsessed with The Rock's sexual behaviour.

At least with the promo 2 weeks ago, "blow me" is a standard insult. Still homophobic, and oddly placed after a "You're lame because you're totally gay" promo, but at least people actually say "blow me" when angry at other people.

I have never, ever heard a dude threaten to bathe another dude in his ejaculate as part of an angry rant. Especially after promising to totally pwn the other dude.

Cena's rep is that he won't throw out bad scripts, so Loss' point is a good one. I do think that they're trying so hard to be shocking in a wink wink, fly under the PG rating radar fashion, that they haven't thought through Cena's material very well at all.

Or he's just reading lines written by a writer.

I know. I was talking about "John Cena tm WWE Universe character", not John Cena the human being. That's how he comes off to me with promos like these. Either self-hating gay, either retarded. So far Rock just murdered him seven ways to Sunday.

Of course, WWE writers suck.
