Was at the Toronto show tonight..... it was ok. Smash Brothers vs Bucks was the best thing on it.

Checking this Toronto show out now. Can't believe how into the Knife Pervert Toronto was. Match with him and Martinez was surprisingly blah, given that they worked pretty well together last year.

Was actually late and only arrived right before Beer City Bruiser and Naito.

Cosign on how good the Bucks and Smash Bros match was. Lot of fun.

Bruiser and Naito was a lot of fun, too. You could do worse for a bottom guy in the G1 than Bruiser.

This is a guy whose rise I'm just blown away by. I saw him work a fire department fundraiser show in a school gym about 10 minutes from my house in rural WI about 6 years ago in the Beer City Bruisers tag team with Nick Colucci. I think he's great.

I thought MSG had some sort of exclusivity agreement with WWE? Bischoff has claimed that WWF/WWE had exclusivity agreements with a bunch of the major arenas, most notably MSG...which froze WCW out of a lot of these places. You know Bischoff would have loved to have run MSG to stick it to McMahon back during the "Monday Night Wars." I can't imagine WWE letting anybody else run MSG, unless their agreement has lapsed or something.

So let me get this straight. ROH is gonna run a show at MSG. ROH. While that's awesome, the company that had shows I went to back in the day that ran four hours long, and who knows when it'll end...is playing the place where the union rules are a huge part of why WWE doesn't do TV there anymore? It's a crazy world, out there. Will it be an afternoon show, or will it end in a curfew draw? Cause that's old school MSG.

The pictures of their new champion with like 20 people in the stands is really sad.

They are terrible sometimes with this stuff. Watched the match and the crowd as a whole didn't seem bad, but there was one side that looked awful. Get the big photo on the side with people!

Enjoyed the match, as well. Not a classic, but a fun multi-man match. Castle's injuries seemed to require getting the belt off of him, and Lethal is a perfectly reasonable choice. The Bullet Club guys don't need belts and Lethal's been real strong in the ring this year.

I like Lethal well enough, and I actually believe he's excelled more after his big run with the belt ended. He seemed to shine as a blood feud, grudge match worker in my view. Those programs with Cody and Silas produced pretty strong results.

Lethal's title reign featured some solid matches, too. But the entire exercise almost felt like running in place. It just felt like such an aimless period with zero forward momentum for months & months on end there.

I'm not exactly opposed to them giving him another shot up top. Like I said, I've enjoyed his work for more than a year now. But I *do* hope they sidestep some of the mistakes from before and, ya know, actually give the guy some kind of story or issue to sink his teeth into.

Overall, the company seems to be suffering under the weight of its New Japan/Bullet Club ties. Yes, it's been extremely beneficial for ROH to feature and use these guys. But they can't go all in with any of them, because they're otherwise committed elsewhere the majority of the time.

ROH is in this funky purgatory where their big hitters can only be used sporadically. So their champions are almost always made to look like inferior runner-ups to the real major players, who can only swing by occasionally.

I realize he has plenty of detractors & critics, but Cody probably never should've dropped the belt anyhow.

I really feel like they waited way too long to pull the trigger with Castle in the first place. By the time he got the title, it felt more like a make-good than a true crowning achievement. Maybe that's just me.

Don't get me wrong. I'm glad he got to hold the gold, regardless. But the whole thing just carried a sense of "too little, too late" to me.

Very much so. And as underwhelming as Cody can be in the ring, his heel persona really is main event level.

Agreed 100%. Felt like a massive step back to me. As a more casual follower, once Cody dropped the title, I stopped hearing much about ROH outside of Bullet Club stuff here and there while when he was champ I always knew to follow along the results of big shows and Castle's reign felt entirely forgettable.

if they would spread out the general admission seats to wrap around the entire Patriot center (I know it is EagleBank Arena now),  then the whole building would have only 10 rows of people in a building in a general admission area that holds probably 5000 - 7000 people.  Luckily the way TV is shot nobody will see this.  It is just the pictures spoilering the title change  Putting the majority of the fans on the floor might not have been a great idea either but running a building that can hold that many people when you are only going to get 1200 - 1400 is not good.  I was curious the crowd at Best in the World because I know EagleBank is a bigger building than the Baltimore place they ran their PPV.

For Wrestlemania or Summerslam weekend they could definitely fill half to 75% of that building.  Assuming they include the usual Bullet Club, Stardom and New Japan stars as well.  But the idea of using MSG as a replacement to the Hammerstein or Manhattan Center is a complete joke
