A super bumping team like the Orient Express are really the perfect team to feud with the LOD. Tanaka does the 360 spin bump off of a lariat, and does a really high angle bump off a hiptoss from Animal. Add in his flat back bumping off of simple moves like the press slam and back body drop and it's an impressive performance. Animal and Hawk seem to be scaling back their aggression, which had to be something at Vince's direction, which is what drags this match down. It's still fun, but it's a shame, because the OX were game, and this could have been really excellent if the Road Warriors were in their usual role as world beaters.

Demolition attack the Roadies when they're about to win the match. It seems like they could have done that after the finish. The beatdown continues, even after a commercial break.

I do like the visual of three masked hitmen swarming the ring and attacking them, but I'm not used to seeing the Road Warriors this vulnerable, and I'm not really a fan of it, even if the beatdown is well done (if you could consider a series of double axehandles to be really menacing).

I vividly recall this segment from my childhood. IIRC it ended the show, and the announcers put over how they wanted to stay with it as long as possible but time ran out. Rare to have a dramatic ending to Superstars.

Definitely. Downright Crockett-esque, as the show goes off the air with the beatdown ongoing.

Animal actually looked better than Hawk here, which surprised me, showing some nice crispness to his moves even accounting for the fact that Tanaka could make Santino's Cobra look like a killer strike. LOD dominates the match until Fuji waves to the locker room for help, and it's a 6-on-2 attack.

Match was ok but mainly featured good bumping by the Express and was short. Beatdown was good from execution standpoint but it is weird to see the LOD this beaten down especially compared to the stuff I am watching from Crockett right now. Show going off the air with beatdown ensuing seems weird for WWF>

Demolition with new look masks. Ax tries to put over the team as new and improved. They have been on steady fall since WrestleMania though.

Fuji keeps looking behind him. LOD are essentially squashing them bit Express especially Tanaka bump big. LOD set up the Doomsday Device. Fuji asks for help and Demolition respond. Demolition wearing the masks full time. Big beat down of LOD though to end show.

This really wasn't much. Maybe I was just waiting for the Demos to come down, but nothing else that happened in the ring registered much with me. Vince and Piper got off some good lines on commentary (Vince, of all people, on Hawk: "He's been gargling with razor blades again!") and I liked Piper's shoutout to his niece in the Persian Gulf while he was putting over Vince for allowing the troops to see Survivor Series for free. Then came the Demos and everything ground to a halt.

I'm guessing that Vince knew he'd messed up by not letting the LOD and Demolition have a proper feud, so he was trying to put a bit of life back into their issue. But it was too late; the Demos had lost the six-man on SNME, and Ax was gone after this. Nobody considered Smash and Crush to be the "true" Demolition, so they didn't really care to see Animal and Hawk beat them, and they certainly didn't care about the LOD/Orients feud that came after this.

If there was a time to do a beatdown similar to this one, it was right after SummerSlam, when the Demos could have attacked three-on-two and the Warrior could have saved the day, thus setting up the six-mans. Now, the only real purpose this served was to get rid of Bill Eadie and force Fuji back into the ring again, where no one truly wanted to see him.

This was a nice idea in theory, but it was executed far, far too late.
