Minami bleeds pretty badly to wrap up the first fall. I was excited to see a shorter match than usual in this style, but I realized why they usually give them so much time, as this feels awfully rushed. This is a good match, and Hokuto has improved even since January, but it feels like it's missing something. I like Minami and I'm looking forward to her singles match with Hokuto in '91.

This show only exist in HEAVILY edited form via a recent AJW classics airing (which is why I never bothered to get around to buying it). AJW was uaully always very good at editing their tv in a way to whear you couldn't tell if you didn't allready know.

About 9 mins airs of this & AJW never booked tag title matches less then 20.

Also note, only 7 mins airs of Bull vs Kyoko & Only 4 mins of Toyota/Yamada vs Mita/Shimoda

Jungle Jack win the tag titles. Clipped up with 10m shown so I wasn't expecting as good as we got. What made the cut was plenty of fun with the finish particularly exciting. And there was even some blood too. It's great new footage being made available 20 years after the event.

Joshi dipped hard in the middle of the year but rebounded with some great stuff and some at-the-very-least fun stuff. This is closer to the "fun" category than great, but it's enjoyable from what we see. I get that she wasn't quite as high on the pecking order at this point but it's striking how much more giving and vulnerable Aja comes across than Nakano. Aja gets the win with a Jackhammer off the turnbuckles. Pretty shitty sportsmanship from the sore-loser Marine Wolves afterward.

Quite the spirited match here, as Hokuto and Minami show no fear of Aja. The cut Minami suffers in the first fall is pretty horrific by female standards, but it doesn't deter her from fighting in the least. This match threatens to get out of control a few times, but with the exception of Aja using the trash can (which she should have been disqualified for), order is kept. Hokuto doesn't like the way her team lost the titles, so she hits Aja with a dropkick off the top after the match.

There was noticeable clipping in only one place here: the beginning of the third fall, as Bison was knocked cold at the end of the second fall by the piledriver, but we pick the match back up with her on offense against Hokuto.

Joshi has been a really pleasant surprise for me on this set. It's a thrill to know that there are women out there who can actually apply holds and moves like the men. I'm definitely looking forward to more in future yearbooks.
