Loss
Clips of a match from Mid South Coliseum, which actually looks pretty great. After the match, Doug attacks Embry and Tojo with a Texas flagpole when they try to doubleteam him. Embry is about to sneak attack Doug when he's going after Tojo, but Eddie shows up and does a number on Embry. Tom Pritchard hits the ring and throws a few punches before pulling the heels out of the ring.
PeteF3
Doug was revealed to be under the guise of the Lone Ranger the previous week on television, resulting in this match. Another good-looking double-juice fest that sees Embry getting the pin after whacking Gilbert with the Texas flag. The post-match comeback by Doug is pretty tepid, but this picks up when Eddie hits the ring. Dr. Tom Prichard makes the save for the heels and I really, really want to see Eddie vs. Embry again. shoe
A solid segment. Memphis has always been good at telling a tentpole story .
Kevin Ridge
Guys hitting big moves but not going for pins it seems. Looks like they were just trying to punish each other. It was interesting to see Doug weakly punching at Tojo in the corner while Eddie was slugging it out with Embry. The camera was rightfully more focused on Gilbert/Embry at that point. soup23
Double juice int he mid south coliseum. Tojo comes in with a 10 gallon hat and the Texas flag attacking Gilbert. Gilbert beats Tojo down but this allows Embry to hit Gilbert with the flag for the pin. Good advancement of storyline. Surprised all of this happened in just over 7 minutes. garretta
Embry can't even beat Doug Gilbert without outside interference and a foreign object. How pathetic is that? Nothing against Doug, because he's been a fine midcarder in Memphis so far in the Yearbooks, but for once I'd like to see Embry beat somebody at least semi-cleanly. Eddie comes in to make things right for his little brother, which leads into Prichard making a babyface-style save for Embry and Tojo. This was okay if the intention was to set up an Eddie/Embry rematch, but as far as I know that match never came off, so this just feels like a waste of time. Not even the announcers are particularly outraged by Embry's behavior anymore, which can't be a good sign.
dawho5
Eddie's punches are incredible in this. They manage to overshadow the match for me. It also strikes me that I like Eric Embry the wrestler waaaaay more than Eric Embry the booker.
