So I've started buying old Apter mags off of eBay. Mostly issues of The Wrestler from the 1970s. I kind of just go by if the cover is cool or not.

That's awesome, man.

I've only ever collected comic books (and stopped that in high school), but is there an abundance of those old mags available out there?

Let us know if you discover anything interesting worth sharing.

Quite a bit out here actually. There's a lot of old programs out there as well. It seems a lot of it can be purchased for $5-15 depending on the issue but most people with best offer will take less.

I'm trying to find the Lawler/Andre issue of The Wrestler with the headline "The Night a Midget Beat Andre The Giant."

Man, I wish I had my old wrestling magazines! I had a ton. I probably started buying them around 86 or 87. Went until 90 or so, but I had a lot. Refused to throw back issues away, much to my mom's chagrin. I used to know which magazines each grocery store in my town would have. I'd ride my bike around and check probably once a week for new issues. That, and I had a subscription to WWF magazine for years. Good times.

Ironically, my favorite section in wrestling magazines were the results sections. Even though they were out of date, it was interesting looking through them, especially if there were any oddball matchups listed and what house show only feuds were happening (of course, now we have Graham's site and various other results pages for that, but back in the day it was the only way to find out what programs were going on).

How about Randy Savage appearing as the Grey Ghost on Space Ghost Coast to Coast?

"DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU'RE ON THE TV?!" is an inside joke I have with a few buddies of mine from that episode. :D So funny.

As for me, I've been trying to collect the first couple of years worth of official WWF Programs (1983-86) from when they started numbering them 101, 102, etc. All I'm missing is 105 (The Masked Superstar on the cover) and 108 (The Iron Sheik on the cover, where he's announced as the new WWF Champion). I get the feeling 108's gonna be a nightmare to get...

Hillbilly Jim, Billy Jack Haynes and S.D. Jones vs. Don Muraco, Bob Orton Jr. and Iron Mike Sharpe on I think the 6/14/1987 Wrestling Challenge was a surprisingly fun little 5ish minute match. Then on the 6/20/1987 Superstars the Hart Foundation have a pretty good match with the Killer Bees. I am shocked there were 2 decent matches that close together.

El Terrible in CMLL had their World Title for 1,125 days. But CMLL probably forgot it existed for about 600 of those days. Atlantis has also held the Mexican National Light Heavyweight belt for over 1,000.

Did Terrible have more or less defenses/year than Brock?

Love seeing the memes comparing Brock and Okadas current reign.

Re-watching Daniel Bryan vs Big Cass, and how about Bryan really trying to bring good punches back to wrestling? He said he spent time in his retirement studying Lawler and he's doing his best to incorporate that. I love it.

He's been so good. I actually think some of his stuff looks better now in "safe mode," mainly the corner dropkicks.

This isn't going to fly on most of the Internet with NJPW and everything but I think he's clearly the best wrestler in the world again and is trying to elevate his GWE ranking.
