At least he didn't concuss Bryan on the way out.

How do we know he didn't? A sudden release like this, with no "we wish you the best of luck" attached to it, doesn't happen unless he screwed up royally.

Considering Bryan has a concussion test after every match he has, I'm sure we would by now if something happened on Sunday.

Apparently one of the AOP was having visa issues which explains why they fell off the face of the earth after their debut.

They worked the Main Event tapings before Raw last night so guessing they'll be back on TV soon. Figured the B Team was just a feud to stall Drew and Dolph getting the titles but with Dolph getting the IC, maybe not and AOP will be next in line. Sanity finally debuts on SDL tonight too.

From the WO story on Cass:

Dave Meltzer notes that Vince McMahon called a meeting at SmackDown in Toledo today and fired Cass.

There's heat, and there's "Vince personally fires your ass" heat.

Apparently it was all stemming from him going off script beating up the little person dressed as Bryan.

I think that there was a straw that broke the camel's back and it all began on that Lil' Bryan incident. Or maybe it was just Vince using the best possible opportunity to send Cass packing.

Either way, I feel bad for him. Hope he can have good matches against Punisher Martinez.

In all seriousness, I'm surprised there wasn't for more heat on him for failing to "man up" and finish the match with Enzo back when he originally got shelved with the injury. I know Real1 was talking shit about Cass looking weak for that recently.

I know they're a lot safer about injuries and shit now, but it wouldn't shock me at all if that was a thought in Vince's mind at the time. Regardless of how PC it is or isn't, you can tell they still clearly place a great deal of value and pride in guys toughing through situations like that.

Not only was he not getting over but he stalled a lot of the momentum from Daniel Bryans comeback, which of course is easily salvageable but still isnt good. I suspect it was something personality-related since he seemed to be pretty disliked by other wrestlers.

Not to defend Cass, but did Bryan re-sign yet?

I subscribe to the idea (hope) that the real reason they're not rushing into Bryan/Miz or Bryan/AJ is because he still hasn't signed a long-term deal. And, thus, when he does, they will push him to the top of SmackDown.

That being said, I read elsewhere that Cass was upset about losing to Bryan at two PPVs in a row (they cited Bryan Alvarez but I don't know if that's accurate). There was also a somewhat silly rumor about Cass having heat with "the boys" because of Pro-Trump views. Of course, the most common reason being cited now goes back to him manhandling an extra when he was told not to twice by agents and supposedly Vince himself.

The timing is certainly interesting and I'm curious if he'll be as eager to "burn the bridge" as Enzo was. Out of morbid curiosity, I'm hoping that he does because I'd really love to learn what the final straw was in his perspective (and then, when someone in the WWE ultimately tweets a response, learn what the company's final straw was). Maybe Corey Graves can weigh in?

With Cass, it will be interesting to see if he actually continues wrestling after being released, or if he quits altogether. I'm curious because some of the guys coming up in developmental over the past few years are of the age that they have grown up wanting to be "WWE Superstars" and have a "Wrestlemania Moment" not actually learn to be Professional Wrestlers. It's conceivable that a guy like Cass might take the attitude that if you're not working for WWE, what's the point? Drew Galloway seems to have kind of written the book on how to get released, work hard, build a buzz and earn your job back eventually, but I wonder if a guy like Cass would even be willing to do that. Time will tell.

Bryan (Alverez) mentioned during the PPV recap the other night that (Daniel) Bryan hasn't re signed yet. It seems like Cass was kind of a dick to everyone and his not listening to the agents was the last straw. I would guess they waited until now to fire him because they wanted to finish the program they started and job him on the way out.
