  1. She was in some pop-culture movies like the Fast and the Furious and the Expendables. Comes from the UFC, yes, but one of the few fighters from the UFC that crossed over into pop culture. Made appearances on late night talk shows and shows like Ellen.
  2. I hate that Mauro gives away every nearfall like the kick-out of the Eclipse by Asuka by shouting stuff like "we have a new champion" before or during the pinfall attempt. Though that is less his fault and more the general way how WWE announcing is done. Last night made me hate Mauro Ranallo more than I already hated him. I hate his stupid booming deep voice and I hate his stupid shouty announcing style. I hate him using a bunch of Hip Hop references on the show last night, like "if you don't know, now you know" or talking about Tupac. Hey Mauro, you're a pudgy middle aged white guy with a bad haircut, not an MTV VJ from the 90's. Stop trying to be cool. I hate him for trying to shoehorn stupid rhyming schemes into his commentary, seeing how many words in a row he can use that start with the same letter, pretending he's goddamn Howard Cosell. Stop trying to get yourself over and just call the fucking match. Like Robert says, I hate the way he gives away nearfalls by hysterically proclaiming the match is over when we all know it isn't. Stop trying imitate Vince McMahon when he did play-by-play. I hate him trying to beat everybody over the head with how much he knows about Pro Wrestling, by trying to cram in as many references to other organizations and other wrestlers from the past, with his stupid "SHADES OF..." calls. Stop trying to impress the voters for the Observer awards. I hate him so much now, I'm starting to feel sympathy for poor JBL, who was picked on and victimized by all the cruel and heartless Ranallo fans. All JBL ever tried to do was help Mauro be a better announcer, and for that he became a victim of cyber-bullying and a ruthless online smear campaign. Every one of you who participated in the unwarranted character assassination on JBL should be ashamed of yourselves. I hate Mauro Ranallo and I hate that he's the voice of NXT. Hate hate hate hate hate. This is how MMA fans have felt about Mauro for the past decade.

So how do these Takeover shows work as far as tickets. Do I have to order in advance or will there be plenty available at the door the night of. I don't care if I'm sitting far back, I guess I'm just wondering if they sell out. Three years in a row, me and my friend went to the Field of Honor shows in August (and August Hammerstein the year before that). A little bummed there won't be an ROH in Brooklyn this year for whatever reason. But we are taking this as an opportunity to finally catch NXT live.
  4. Went to Saturday's event in Manhattan. Was a lot of fun, the place went crazy when the Hardy's came out. But it seems that's already been discussed on this board. I actually had no idea about Bubba Ray Dudley. My friend I went with isn't a big wrestling fan so he was just hurrying me to leave after the main event ended.
  5. I feel like they should announce Eva Marie at Summerslam, play her music, haver her come out, then announce she won't be competing due to a wellness violation.

Anyone else notice they cut to a commercial break as soon as Daria Barenetto got in the ring? Especially since it was her debut. Wonder if she botched a few spots or something. She got plenty of camera time after the break, but just weird to cut to commercial when someone is debuting. And why did she wait until after she got tagged in to take the gloves off? Isn't this something one takes off before the match starts?
  7. Just watched Camp WWE. Might be the worst pile of hot garbage I've ever seen. Swerved was a poor man's candid camera, but this show isn't even comparable to the popular adult cartoons like Family Guy and South Park. I strongly disliked this show. I like crude if it's funny. But what is funny about Ric Flair fucking a tire and a rock?
  8. At the RAW after Mania, Vince was like "this show is always crazy, the fans are crazy and nothing really makes sense. So I'm gonna give Shane a chance to run things so I can watch him screw things up" or something along those lines. How we got to Shane having control of RAW for more than one show? No clue, I think they didn't even come up with a shitty explanation for that one. The explanation was that he was getting kept on week after week because of demand for it on twitter.
  9. Watch BJ Whitmer at ROH's The Conclusion show in 2003. What you're talking about reminds me of this. Hilariously bad.
  10. Went to Saturday's event in Brooklyn. Had a fun time. Love when they run the baseball stadium, have gone both years now. The seating is so much more comfortable. Regular ROH shows everyone is on top of each other. Seats here are less close together and you can also space out more. They tried to be a little more gestapo about sticking to seat numbers this year, but after a certain point you can just sit where you want. Nice change of pace getting to see the Japanese guys, too bad I didn't get to see Tanahashi. Maybe next year. I'm not going to overanalyze every match and compare and contrast it to NOT or anything. It was a fun night out and I enjoyed the NXT counterpart the next day on the network.
  11. With Daniel Bryan not in the main event, I think the best case scenario is Shaemus. Have Sheamus come back to a baby face promo on Raw, team with Bryan and then turn on him. Smackdown Sheamus goes full heel and rants about a guy he beat in 8 seconds being a huge star now. I loved the series they did a couple years ago, the 2/3 falls match especially
  12. How about, it's been noted that main eventing Wrestlemania has been established as an accomplishment in and of itself so just putting Danie Bryan in there is giving a deserving guy a just due. He's the biggest star in the company, he at least deserves to be in the match. (Though I'd love it if he won.)
  13. Cena loses to Rusev at Fast Lane, Daniel Bryan vs Rusev at Wrestlemania. A far more likely scenario being: Bryan loses to Rusev at Fast Lane, John Cena vs Rusev I was responding to a guy coming up with a scenario in which they would salvage the mess they made at the Rumble. Unless you were just being tongue in cheek. In that case, disregard.
