  1. The Miz He came along way from being a complete joke to being a perfectly acceptable wrestler with some great matches sprinkled in, and quite frankly, not very much bad stuff after his initial run. The Bryan and Ziggler feuds are some of the memorable stuff the 'E has churned out in the last 10 years, and Miz plays his role perfectly in both. vs. Daniel Bryan (09-19-2010) vs. Daniel Bryan (08-19-2018) vs. Seth Rollins (05-06-2018)
  2. I'm leaning towards either Kikuchi or Kerry Von Erich for the #100 spot. I'm 99.9% sure both will make my list even if the resume doesn't stack up, so it'll just be a matter of placement at the end.
  3. Kneejerk reaction would be? 1. Bryan 2. Jumbo 3. Stan 4. Kobashi 5. Misawa 6. Kawada 7. Casas 8. Funk 9. Liger 10. Akiyama (I'm actively trying to fit him in, but I'm sure objectivity will come in, eventually, when I get into full comparisons. Other guys with a chance: Lawler, Rose, Mysterio, Taue (Maybe?), Fujinami, Santo, Flair, Tenryu, Hokuto, Bock And crap, that's basically my working Top 20. If I had to guess, I'd say I have 7 locks in the Top 10, and the other three spots could go in any order depending on the day.

    Christian

Wanted to get the 2021 discussion going here. I think he's a legit lock for my list. I don't feel the Edge & Christian matches hold up as well as they should, but once they split up, it clicks really well. There's never any bad and it's always compelling on shows that don't have a ton of compelling stuff of them, especially the post-ECW PPV run, which had the great TV matches that were talked up in the past. I'd recommend checking out... - vs. Jack Swagger (Backlash 2009 & Judgment Day 2009). I'd consider these companion matches. Both are around 10 minutes, and I think they're great, and play off of each other well. - vs. Shelton Benjamin (TLC 2009). Longer than most of his matches, and I know ladder matches are kinda contrived at this point, but this felt...different. - vs. Ezekiel Jackson (Royal Rumble 2011). Christian working with a green, green worker and getting a good match by sheer force of will. I remember liking one of the Orton matches, as well, but I can't recall which one (four PPV matches in three months tends to lead to that, unfortunately). And the title win ladder match against Del Rio is a pretty great moment if you're a fan.
  5. A couple that haven't been mentioned that I had saved... USWA Texas has USWA Texas shows and some Southwest more recently. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_OknTVVX8tMnAwjEwtnxKA/videos Memphis Wrestling Video Vault https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTim1Uvfvm86blvU4inQhEw Verity Chandler has some Poffo ICW (a lot of the longer matches are split into multiple videos, but it's something.) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzrLGyTej1cJ5A7_TvsiZug/videos NWAWildside has old Wildside TV and videos with a lot of good stuff. https://www.youtube.com/user/nwawildside/videos
  6. Off of the Lock List (Could still make, but not guaranteed for a variety of reasons): Andre the Giant, Brock Lesnar, Larry Zbyzsko, Manami Toyota, Shawn Michaels, Steve Williams, Samoa Joe, Fit Finlay, Chris Jericho, Curt Hennig. Almost certainly making that didn't in '16: John Cena (I think I just missed him on the last one), Roman Reigns, Shinjiro Ohtani (Just didn't see enough last time as my big oversight). I currently have AJ Styles as my lowest ranked 'lock', so most of the new candidates are going to be compared to his career to see if they pass the test, so to speak.

    Roman Reigns

I need to do the legwork on the singles stuff, but he definitely feels like a lock, to the point where he made my initial nearlock list. He might have the best resume of any current era candidate male (Not counting the Indy guys like Hero/Bryan/etc.), with the Shield stuff and the myriad of great singles matches that I just need to cull together on the backend. Top 50 is definitely a strong possibility, but I'd lean about 95% on Top 75, at the very least.
  8. Junkyard Dog I was reminded recently that he didn't even get nominated last time, and that is just a bit of a travesty. He was one of the most transcendent stars of the 1980s, especially in Mid South and had an undeniable charisma in the ring, and out. There's some great matches sprinkled in there, too. - Junkyard Dog & Mr. Olympia vs. Ted DiBiase & Matt Borne (10/17/82 Mid-South) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTbycOcZpuk - Junkyard Dog & Mr Olympia vs Ted DiBiase & Jim Duggan (8/18/82 Mid-South) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lli90bGBfHw - Junkyard Dog & Tito Santana vs. The Funk Brothers (4/7/86 WWF Wrestlemania 2)

    Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan is my working number one, as well, so I should probably join in here. I've never seen a bad Daniel Bryan match, truthfully, and while he might not have the myriad of 5* classics, there's plenty of the ****1/2+ stuff that makes up for it. I know other candidates like the AJPW guys and Flair have the same resume, with the long list of 5*s, but the little things are just kind of outweighing it in my mind. The great match list here includes, as others have noted, Bray Wyatt and The Miz, and while I've come around on Miz (maybe more than almost anybody else), nobody else has ever gotten anything close to MOTY level with Bray in a singles, in my mind. The real turning point, though, was when I saw Survivor Series 2010 again, and it was a pretty meh/throwaway show, I legitimately remember nothing from it except the opener where Daniel Bryan goes about 10 minutes with Ted Dibiase Jr. and has a very good match. I've seen enough Ted Jr. singles matches to not even think it was possible, but Bryan did it. And maybe that's an arbitrary reason, but I don't know if it was possible for anyone else to do that (I'm probably opening a can of worms with that one, but ya know.) He excelled at the indy style of putting on good matches, and he excelled in a company that wasn't focused on putting on good matches. I just can't call anyone better.
  10. Ehhh...I'll give it a go. 1. Ric Flair 2. Terry Funk 3. Daniel Bryan 4. Rey Mysterio 5. Jushin Liger 6. Stan Hansen 7. Mitsuharu Misawa 8. Ricky Steamboat 9. Jerry Lawler 10. Toshiaki Kawada
  11. Lost Kerry(98) and Garvin(41) yesterday. Thought Garvin would be a little higher, Kerry seems about right there.
  12. Fallen Soliders (23, on recount.) 49. Pat Patterson (121), 53. Larry Zbyzsko(109), 55. Masa Fuchi (111), 56. Wahoo McDaniel (115), 58. Steve Gray (108), 59. Tsuyoshi Kikuchi (148), 61. Dory Funk Jr. (112), 63. Johnny Saint (122), 68. Carlos Colon (103), 70. Jaguar Yokota (114), 73. Jerry Blackwell (118), 78. Yoshiaki Yatsu (172), 80. Sean Waltman (106), 81. Jose Lothario (276), 86. Naoki Sano (126), 87. Masa Saito (160), 89. Marty Jannetty (272), 91. Bob Orton Jr. (157), 93. Christian (102), 94. Butch Reed (136), 97. Lex Luger (144), 99. Adrian Adonis (165), 100. Matt Borne (263) Regrets I probably went too high on Patterson and Larry Z, based on greatest hits stuff. I feel like it was an overcorrection more than anything because they're two guys that I really enjoy watching. Should've been a little higher on Gray. Why I didn't put him in my Top 50 is still puzzling to me. Taking out a guy that I had ranked because I felt I hadn't seen enough footage. I should've just stuck with him, because an 89 vote is better than no vote, but I just couldn't negotiate it in my head. Predictions Highly doubt I'm the high vote on anybody, except my #1, and I'm almost certainly not alone on him. Nobody just sticks out as someone that I'm going to be highest on, after seeing the way some people have ranked. Shocks Rick Rude making the Top 100 is kind of an under the radar shock. I mean, I ranked him in the 90s based on his 1992 run, but I didn't really think he'd make it this far.
  13. Well, I have 20 gone, and I don't think 101 is Andre...so...80 of the 100, if my count is right. And I'll say 101 is...Rock. No need to change my guess now.
  14. I completely forgot Dusty was still around, even, so I'm not the one to be guessing, I suppose.
